Slightly off topic, but I thought that Obama would make a bigger effort to use his understanding of technology to highlight the differences between him and McCain. The internet has been around for ~2 decades, and these right-wingers are still talking about how mystifying it is. If I were Obama I would constantly be referring to things like gene therapy, geothermal energy, even Wii + kindle, etc. – at least in certain settings. He is in a much better position to discuss new technologies and the issues surrounding them (including internet regulation). He should be making the point that we need someone in office who understands these technologies to be sure that technological innovation continues to be a hallmark of the US economy and identity. While this argument would certainly appeal to youngsters, older generations would also understand its significance. My parents are 65 and retired and they just bought a Wii, and I know several grandparents that Skype regularly. These things are part of our culture. McCain has no idea how to use the internet for crying out loud. How can anyone expect him to understand technologies that change by the day?

These dodos remind me of when I visited my mother in 1988 while I was on summer break from college. She picked up a book I had been reading and looking at it with disdain asked me who Miz Do’s was. I had to explain to her that the “ABC’s of MS Dos” was not the type of book she thought it was.
