Rick Y Says:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can’t say McCain wasn’t working the problem. See
this for example.

McCain pushed reform in 2006.

McCain said:

“If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole.”

Congress did not act.

What legislation did Obama support? Any? He voted against the bill!

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Hey Ricky you are an idiot. This was 05 NOT 06 and NO ONE voted against this bill since it never made it out of comittee. This hivemind talking point has been destroyed a half dozen times you are spewing defunct propaganda here try to keep up. Try to remember being a moron is not contagious we are not going to catch it from reading your idiocy. It only makes YOU look dumb it doesnt spread to and convince actual human beings

A call to arms for progressive bloggers!!!!

Liberals, please come to Speak Free Politics it’s an easy to use message board blog dominated by right wingers. My name there is osamabinforgotten. I need to recruit some lefty bloggers as i am being ganged up on and called a terrorist for being a liberal. All bloggers are invited to come there and check it out.

Johnny B. Goode!

Deep down in Arizona close to Mexico
Way back up in the cactuses where it never snows
There stood an ancient mansion made of gold and wood
Where lived a a corrupt politician named Johnny B Goode
Who’d never learned the difference between Sunni or Shia so well
But he could pretend to chase Osama to the gates of Hell

Go! Go! Go! Johnny!
Go! Go! Go! Johnny!
Go! Go! Go! Johnny!
Go! Go! Go! Johnny!
Go! Go! Johnny B. Goode!

He used to carry his bribe money in a gunnysack
Go sit beneath a tree and count his Keating kickbacks
Old lobbyist on K street would see him sittin’ in the shade
Laughing at the doubletalk and flip flops he made
The people passed him by they would stop and say
Oh my but that little old mummy really hates the gays

Go! Go! Go! Johnny!
Go! Go! Go! Johnny!
Go! Go! Go! Johnny!
Go! Go! Go! Johnny!
Go! Go! Johnny B. Goode!

Once upon time the state of Arizona couldn’t host a superbowl
Because it was legislated by a group of white supremacist trolls
The bigots were led by an angry fascist who was a goose-stepping man
A millionaire, senator who belonged to the Klu Klux Klan
Johnny B Goode was a maverick when it came to recognizing MLK
So the old cracker donned his klan robe and voted against a holiday

Go! Go! Go! Johnny!
Go! Go! Go! Johnny!
Go! Go! Go! Johnny!
Go! Go! Go! Johnny!
Go! Go! Johnny B. Goode!

His mother told him someday you will be an old man
And you will be the leader of a murderous criminal clan
Many people will be blown to bits from miles around
To see you launch the nukes and take us all down
Maybe some day you will make mushroom clouds so bright
Sayin’ “Johnny B Goode pushed the button tonight”

Go! Go! Go! Johnny!
Go! Go! Go! Johnny!
Go! Go! Go! Johnny!
Go! Go! Go! Johnny!
Go! Go! Johnny B. Goode!

GODDAMN CRIMINAL LIARS, LOOTING OUR TREASURY AGAIN:

NEW YORK (CNN) — “I have great, great confidence in our capital markets and in our financial institutions. Our financial institutions, banks and investment banks, are strong. Our capital markets are resilient. They’re efficient. They’re flexible.”

– Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, March 16, 2008

“Our policy in this administration — laws shouldn’t bail out lenders, laws shouldn’t help speculators.”

– President Bush, May 19, 2008

“Our economy has continued growing, consumers are spending, business are investing, exports continue increasing and American productivity remains strong. We can have confidence in the long-term foundation of our economy…I think the system basically is sound. I truly do.”

– President Bush, July 15, 2008

Today, the Hill reports that McCain “has not introduced any banking or housing bills in the 110th Congress, while Democratic rival Barack Obama has proposed five”

#55 Rick Y Says:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can’t say McCain wasn’t working the problem. See
this for example.

McCain pushed reform in 2006.
============================================================

Please look up the words reform and regulate in the dictionary so that you will quit confusing them. McSame has never supported regulation. McSame is the great deregulator. You can reform a bad thing into another bad thing. Don't confuse the words. Only conservatives are that stupid.

What a pitiful excuse of a candidate to ride in after a week of work both sides have done and try to take the glory for something he has nothing to do with. Does he think the whole world is as crazy as he and his running mate and their base, of course. This is laughable. McSame can't spell banking committee for which he is not a member.

Democrats don't have to do a thing, McDrain is destroying himself quite well.

Even his own party wonders what he could possibly do to contribute the resolution of the rescue package - except hang around DC and spew some more monsensical statements, maybe get some pointers from Shrub...

Well, it became quickly evident what McBush is up to. He wants to reschedule the Presidential debate on October 2 and then find a new date (like never) for the Vice Presidential debate.

I suspect after seeing clips of Palin's Katie Couric interview they realized they need to keep her as far away as possible from any more interviews or debates.

And then there's the inconvenient truth of the fact that McCain's numbers are tanking.

Thank You Barney Frank for speaking the truth without mincing words, oh, and for injecting humor where needed -

“McCain is Andy Kaufman in his Mighty Mouse costume - ‘Here I Come to Save the Day,’” Frank said...

“He hasn’t been involved,” Frank said. “He doesn’t know anything about it.”

This stunt suggest to me a new nickname: John Drama-McQueen

but never mind that. As this farce unfolds it seems McCain is simply planning to vote NO on the bailout plan.
Why?
Because 'Plan A From Outa Paulson's Ass'is really bad?
Not at all.
Yesterday instead of hunkering down with his fellow congress critters to at least get an idea about The Plan, McCain was instead busy not-suspending his campaign with a photo-op and an interview with Catie Couric.
McCain is apparently planning to vote against The Plan without actually knowing what it proposes. He's not voting on principle or from informed opinion but purely from political calculation--he HAS to vote NO to get his poll figures back up.
Ironically though Palin repeated the new official Republican talking point that if The Plan was NOT approved we'd have another Great Depression!

So if McCain votes NO, then he contradicts Palin and if he votes YES he contradicts popular opinion. What do you bo, McDramaQueen...what do you do?
