Lawmakers in Congress appear to have assumed that the federal government will simply borrow more money to foot the bill for the bailout. For all the clamoring about getting rid of the payday loan industry, some people really want us to have them. For instance, the enormous $787 billion stimulus package, on top of the $700 billion bailout for Wall Street and troubled banks. Capitol Hill and the President have been working furiously on the payday loan to the nation. They hope to be putting it to good use as soon as possible. While it may be a good idea, how long is it going to take to pay it all back, and where are we getting the money from? The national debt is astounding. It is likely our grandkids will be paying off the down payment on it. Who is going to pay it back and when are the kinds of things that are very clear if you need to get a payday loan.

By the way, it is tax reductions for lower and middle income people, because when there is no wasteful spending from the government, the money is directly in the people’s pockets (all Americans form every economic status) and can spend their money on products and services the waythey choose instead of allowing the government to spend it for them. Being taxed 20 or 25 % of income, or no income tax at all and just paying sales tax (as the Founding Fathers had established our tax system) is a lot better than being taxed 35 to 40% of income. Our tax system is too high as it is right now and needs to be reduced for ALL Americans, and this is what Sarah Palin is referring!!

I watched this the other day, and it is clear that Palin has said to reduce (both) taxes and (reduce) reigning in spending. She was also very clear earlier in the interview (not shown) that part of tax reduction is to “reduce spending”, thus “reduce reigning in spending.” Reducing reigning in spending and tax reductions would thus mean greater job creation. When companies and “the people” (thus we the people in the Declaration of Independence)have more money in their pockets from their income instead of being “over-taxed,” then companis can hire more people, and there is thus greter job creation. This is all very obvious and simple, and it is being distorted, as usual. She has made it very clear in many other venues that she believes in less government and more independence for the people (and tax reductions from wasteful spending of tax dollars money). I am not sure, other than this is a liberal website, why this is being distorted, twisted, and perverted, as it is. She has made her position clear, and Katie Couric, by the way, appears as a very unbecoming and cold person, in her demeanor and attitude toward Sarah… her dislike of her from the inception of the interview is obvious, and there is obviously media bias here. Would you rather have a great communicator with poor character, or great character and integrity (and values) in a person. The choice is obvious…

The transcript is inaccurate. Palin’s use of the word “all” has been curiously omitted in this sentence: “It’s got to be all about job creation…”

The totality is important, because it reflects her apparent faith in a discredited economic theory known as supply-side or “trickle-down” which holds that to help everyone, the government needs only to allow the rich to have more money, who will use it to create jobs. The opposite is true: only the lower and middle class can be depended on to to spend it on products and services, thereby creating jobs. The wealthy are more likely to tie money up or spend and invest it abroad instead of America.

The republicans have recognized that tapping into the evangelists may appear desperate, but in the end, it is a solution that gets you to power.

Unfortunately, the destructive impact on the secularity of the U.S.A. and stability of the world is the least of their concerns. If McCain wins you can kiss what’s left of church/state separation goodbye..

This is the new America… where a Palin McCain ticket can win. (How did she become governor again ?)

The tragic reality is that the “born again” contingent that believes she is a true gift from God in their efforts to take over the government and put “Jesus” in the President’s easy chair, are not interested in whether or not Ms. Palin makes sense, shows intelligence, or knows anything about government operations. Their only concern is whether or not she is “born again” and loves Jesus. I would hope the American voters will remember the last 8 years with a “burn agin” at the helm and vote accordingly. Personally, I can hardly believe her “love for Jesus” can possibly be genuine, since her “love for Sarah” would seem to overshadow her avowed Love for Jesus.

BINGO!!!! (even if a Freudian slip). Porkbarrel palin tells the truth. The “bailout” is to so strap the Government and Americans that Healthcare reform can not be enacted. Its the republicans parting “gift” to make sure Americans do not have the resources for the programs they actually want.

Not to sound like an unappreciative dick, because I love you guys and you do great work, but could you perhaps be sure to use ellipses in the above-the-fold transcripts when you, ya know, cut things out.

I’m not a below-the-fold kinda guy, mostly because of my slow dial-up connection (no, I do not live in a cave — I’m just poor,) so I rely on the accuracy of the front page when I tell my friends and family about stuff. I just don’t want to accidentally misrepresent anything (and in this case, the partial transcript makes her look waaaaay less crazy then she actually is in the clip.)

I caught this one because the transcript sounded so funny that I downloaded the youtube (took for-ev-er.) But I don’t want you or me to be accused of chopping a quote, now or in the future.
