Does the McCain campaign think Rich Lowry is sexist?

Last month, the McCain campaign accused Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) of being “disrespectful” and sexist for calling Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) “attractive.” Will it similarly slam National Review’s Rich Lowry, who praised Palin’s sex appeal to male viewers?

I’m sure I’m not the only male in America who, when Palin dropped her first wink, sat up a little straighter on the couch and said, “Hey, I think she just winked at me.” And her smile. By the end, when she clearly knew she was doing well, it was so sparkling it was almost mesmerizing. It sent little starbursts through the screen and ricocheting around the living rooms of America.

Last night, Fox’s Brit Hume declared Palin “physically attractive,” adding to the many conservatives who have fawned over her physical appearance. Watch a compilation:

    Sara Palin wind Up doll.................

Yes folks we have it, one genuine Barbie size and shape doll, brunette colored hair of course, wearing a red whatever with a string in the middle of its back tied to a plastic ring that when you pull it..............

The legs and arms will move mechanically, the eye will wink and the tilted mouth says....... I'm a maverick, John is great, tax cuts, tax cuts, tax cuts etc etc etc......

(Insert your very own Sara comment here.)

This would be great if thousands of these were made up and given out at debates and campaign stops.

Hint Hint for someone that makes toys.........

  4. justme Says:

No, no. You're only allowed to rub one out to Palin if you're capital "C" Conservative. It's like the hookers that only service cops.

  5. nanlichi Says:

Great. They go from voting for an idiot because he's someone they want to share a six-pack with to voting for an idiot because she's someone they want to share a box of condoms with.

Do they think Putin will be persuaded by a wink and a smile?

  6. Chocolate Jesus Says:

im truly frightened that the bizarre notion that palins a viable candidate for the office of vice president has caught on with these scumbags, and the next republican vice presidential candidate will be the most attractive woman they can find who isnt mildly retarded like palin is.... the sad thing is, if palin has more than 2 brain cells to rub together, if she had a 3 digit IQ, her relative "beauty" would make her a serious contender in the publics eye, and would actually be a net plus for mcmummy

lets face it, politics isnt an incredibily sexy business (if you doubt me, try picturing nancy pelosi in a g-string, whatever your persuasion may be/), so even someone whose biggest physical selling point is merely that they are symettrical could probably get their running mate +10 points if they wernt a total doofus

  7. Bob Says:

No, lots of mental toddlers think people on TV are addressing them personally, you're not the only one, for sure.

No, Rich, I'm pretty sure you were the only one. That's, um, pretty delusional to think she must be winking at you.

You know, sometimes I wonder if this entire campaign isn't some really long Christopher Guest movie. The people running this year, and all the talking heads and media nitwits surrounding them, seem more like improv characters than rational human beings.

  18. pete Says:

Bible Spice's looks, while never relevant or important, became utterly meaningless by the time a rational person had read a single paragraph of her public record. I can't honestly recall a less qualified candidate for public office. And that's long before politics even comes into play. There should be laws preventing such imbeciles from seeking, or holding, public office.

  19. tombaker Says:

If John McCain is really a "Maverick", and really opposes so much of the Bush program, then why isn't he running as and Independent? Isn't independent what mavericks are???

(I apologize in advance for spamming threads with this meme until someone in the conventional media world starts asking the question)

  20. Jackie Says:

That man has a serious problem in his sex life to only get a thrill from a woman on TV. Was Palin disrepectful in addressing Senator Biden as Joe or was it just her Mae West impression. Will Palin address World Leaders by their first name and give them that famous wink wink. If Palin becomes VP will she sleep with every Law Maker, CEO and World Leader to help the US recover our Economy? Now Palin sleep with her husband's business partner for profit and enjoyment so at lease these guys know who does put out.

Unfortunately, "A Mighty Wind" is already taken. "Breaking Wind" might work.

But, really, this crowd of "conservative" pundits has been saying off-the-wall stupid crap for years. You can easily tell that all of them were the loser in high school who never had a date and was regularly pounded by jocks. "Oooh, pretty girl in glasses smiled at me!"

  23. Bob Says:

I think if she was anything more than 'eye candy' for the ticket she would have much more substance and speak in specifics instead of platitudes. She's just another pretty face who can recite lines, the weathergirl that doesn't know a cirrocumulus from fog.

  24. JBaddo Says:

The poor woman has been victim to so many sexist remarks by none other than a right wing jerk like Limbaugh! He says " shes our babe"

Will she object to such offensive remarks ? No No No

  25. dasm Says:

It's astounding to hear media pundits say that Palin did fine in the debate because she didn't come off as a complete idiot. I know Bush is hopeless, but shouldn't voters (& the media) hope for a president/VP, especially after the Bush/Cheney fiasco, that might be somewhat more intelligent that a complete idiot? After 8 years of that, don't voters want an intelligent, broadminded, respectable person capable of truly thinking on his feet, not just spewing Repub talking points-- or worse, incapable of answering simple questions (e.g. what newspapers do you read?)?

  26. Doc Rock Says:

Not to mention that Fox's talking arschloch, Brit Hume, has repeatedly drooled over her charms.

    Republicans: "Oh, but that's DIFFERENT!!!"

  29. justme Says:

    Bible Spice’s looks,

I think that was changed last night to "Babble Spice", but I'm not sure.

  30. Bilbo Hussein Baggins Says:

What I think was sexist was Sarah Palin herself in the debate. She was using her sexuality to sell herself. If that's not sexist I don't know what is. And what an example she was showing for younger females who might want to run for public office.

Sarah Palin is an embarrassment to womankind.

  31. scytherius Says:

The Right Wing has absolutely run everyone out of their little group who has one ounce of brain matter. This is a non-shooting civil war. It's a question of do you want Cro-Magnons running a country with nukes or people who actually know that there are no tubes in the Internet.

Maybe I'm just noticing it more now, but the political discourse this year on both sides (granted, it's much worse on the Republican side) seems far more petty, superficial, and infantile than it's ever been in our nation's history. Look back sometime at the Lincoln-Douglas debates of 1858, and see what it was like when politicians actually debated. All I see today is contentless mudslinging.

This cannot be an accident. It strikes me as a deliberate effort to disillusion the American public so much with the entire idea of representative democracy that we give up on it altogether and let the corporate-government complex do whatever the hell it wants.

  33. Michael Lafferty Says:

    Now, I'm confused…

I thought that Rich—like some many pseudo conservative males—liked boys.

  34. Abu Ben Hussein Leporello Says:

Once again Lincoln's proven right. You can, indeed, fool some of the people all of the time. The winking big had me doubting my sanity while her voice made me want to pierce my eardrums with slim steel needles. We're stuck watching this fool's parade till November 4th. By then, hopefully, most Americans will wake up and recognise McWorse and Pain for the freak show that they are.
Impeach Pelosi, Cheney and Bush and Save the Constitution!

  35. livelongandprosper Says:

I’m sure I’m not the only male in America who, when Palin dropped her first wink, sat up a little straighter on the couch and said, “Hey, I think she just winked at me.”

Yuk, I just puked a little in my mouth.

What makes Lowery, and other neocons, think that American men want a Stepford wife? Gosh darn give me a woman with an independent mind and god damn foul mouth! Yeehaaaw, I already have one and I can listen to her forever and never feel like I'm listening to a barbie doll!!!!!!!

  36. Tawdry Says:

You darn right she'd wink at guy world leaders, you betcha!

  37. livelongandprosper Says:

You darn right she’d wink at guy world leaders, you betcha!

And golly it would be great to see Putin pat her on her behind!

  38. Mr. Evil Says:

Lets see if I've figured this out. Democrat or anyone critical of Sarah Palin happens to mention her attractiveness is immediately labeled sexist. Any republican complimenting Sarah Palin's attractiveness is a red-blooded, All-American he-male. This unending duplicity is making me nauseous.

  39. gummitch Says:

Mr Evil, on some level these twits realize that no one pays any real attention to what they say and the only people tuning in to them are the 27%ers, that just drool and nod their heads. Don't look for honesty or consistency because they really don't care.

  40. Anonymouse Says:

Not that it matters, but I was alternately repulsed/fascinated by the amount of makeup she was wearing. I'm sure Senator Biden slathered his on with a trowel too, but couldn't help but think of opera when seeing Governor Palin speak.

    "Vesti la giubba"

  41. pbg Says:

You darn right she’d wink at guy world leaders, you betcha!

Or give her an impromptu neck massage?

  42. CruzBustamove Says:

Don't forget, Rich, get thee to a doctor if it lasts longer than four hours.

  43. karela Says:

Um, where are all those values conscious, family values, evangelical women? Do they see any problem with conservative men talking about their physical excitement for Palin? They all want to talk about their physical attraction to Palin-------you know, Sarah, the wonderful Christian mother? The one with all the purity? How far will an evangelical woman let this go? Today one of McCain's surrogates came right out and said she was sexy. Have you noticed that McCain hugs her every time he gets a chance and that her body language always looks very uncomfortable? Weren't these the men and women who made a national incident of it when Joe Biden said that one of the differences between Sarah and himself was that she was good looking? We heard a whole bunch about what a sexist Biden was and the quote only included the part about him saying she was good looking. What a bunch of sexist oinks.

  44. Robt Says:

I believe I heard a bit of loss of Limbaugh manhood in his voice as his said, "we're the ones with the babe on the ticket, Ed".

Is Rush Limbaugh feeling a bit left out that McCain didn't pick him instead of Snowflake-Palin?

I think Rush is jealous that its Palin and not him? He thinks he's smarter and more qualified.

  45. RFBorjal Says:

I wonder if Rich did in front of the TV what Ernest Borgnine said he still does very much - j***off.

  46. mayhem4masses Says:

Sarah Palin is sexist, so comes as no surprise that she surrounds herself and embraces her sexist comments and articles about her.

Some sexy shots of the sex symbol herself.
    Barack Obama's World!

  47. Bevly17 Says:

Look over her right shoulder. She was wired! She was being fed the answers, such as they were!

  48. MrSquirrel Says:

Sexist? He sounds to me like a potential stalker. I'd keep an eye open for this guy if I was Palin's Secret Service detail.
