Last night, during the vice presidential debate, Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) falsely claimed that U.S. forces in Iraq are “down to pre-surge numbers.” This morning, Fox News Channel’s Carl Cameron reports that Palin acknowledged in a new interview that she’s made several misstatements in recent weeks, but “she did not apologize nor did she retract her assertion that U.S. forces in Iraq are at pre-surge levels.” For Cameron, Palin’s statement is “arguably not the case.” Watch it:
Damn, when Faux News calls you out for lies, and you’re a Republican?
Pack it in.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:31 pmSarah Palin; a completely clueless airhead. McPutz says he consults her on foreign policy matters?
Talk about the naive leading the demented.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:32 pmbut she can see russia from her porch in alaska so she knows her foreign affairs.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:35 pm“Just because I’m wrong, doesn’t mean that I’m not right.”
Boy, this new learning never ceases to amaze me.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:36 pmFOX called her out on a lie?
**Faint….**Thump!**
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:37 pmEven Fixed Noise sees the writing on the wall. This BIMBO has finished destroying what Dubya almost did: The Republican Brand.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:38 pmBiden should have called her on that, and also when she bollix’d a few General’s names.

October 3rd, 2008 at 1:40 pmFor a campaign built on LIES, a few misstatements from the glamor girl won’t hurt a bit. To expect Republican candidates in this years election to cop to the reality of America’s economic, domestic and international situations is to ask them to step down or not run.
What about all of the repeated distortion of Obama’s position. This is what should upset observers.
Facts and reality matter.
How about explaining the claim that low taxes create jobs. In light of the ninth month of rising unemployment, how do the record low taxes we have now lose so many jobs? Explain that notion.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:41 pmBiden should have pointed out that the “mavricky duo” hail from states that are among the biggest consumers of federal pork.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:42 pm“mathematically” its arguably not the case but “maverickibly” anythings possible.
In fact the great maverick himself John McCain has made the exact same claim Palin did. What a great team of mavericks they are!
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:43 pmI know that Biden was told “Don’t attack Palin! Go for McSame!!!”, but:
Why didn’t he say that her claim the McSame had suspended his campaign and gone to Washington was a big fat lie:
1). McSame never suspended his campaign
2). He didn’t rush off to Washington
3). When he did get there, he just bollixed things up
4). He went to the debate even thought the deal had fallen apart (in part thanks to him.
That last one shows McSame’s “coursge”; he was trying to duck the debate.
“Leadership you can’t count on…”
Cheers,
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:44 pmRepublicans never admit when they are wrong or if they have made a mistake. It’s not in their DNA. Congenital liars and scoundrels. The U.S. has let Republican criminality and lies slide for far too long. It’s time they be held accountalbe in either federal or international courts. There is a whiff of revolution in the air.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:45 pm“mathematically is arguably not the case”??? It’s not arguable at all — it mathematically is demonstrably not the case…
Don’t let those pesky little numbers get in the way of your lies, Miss Piggy…
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:51 pmRemember the movie, Babe, about the pig that wants to herd sheep? At one point the puppies respond to a question in a chorus, “We’re sheepdogs!” Maybe Palin can adapt that, because she’s all folksy and everything. She and McCain can sing out in harmony, “We’re mavericks!” It’d be so cute, don’t ya reckon?
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:53 pm“Well, gee whiz, yanno, I know I’m right because John McCain is a MAVERICK, by golly!!! And he’ll go to Warshington and he’ll fight for the American people by cleaning up all those pesky librul facts, by jiminy!!”
(The above brought to you by Snarktastic Productions, Inc.)
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:54 pmWhat you see is what you get with Sarah Palin and you get NOTHING AT ALL. What’s sad is we’re have heard Bush/Cheney lie for 7 years and now McCain and Palin are doing the same. At lease the World Leaders will know if McCain/Palin get in nothing will change from the Bush Policy.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:07 pmPalin is just like all the rest of the right, she’s not about to let facts get in her way.

October 3rd, 2008 at 2:16 pmFox News has become confusing recently.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:18 pmI think gummitch and Leftside Annie have hit on the way to save the McCain campaign — play up how durn CUTE Sarah is.
Maybe have her wrinkle her nose more on the campaign trail. Personally, I find that adorable. I’d vote for a girl who wrinkled her nose a lot.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:18 pmSarah Palin (R-QT).
Heheh!
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:18 pm#14 gummitch:
She and McCain can sing out in harmony, “We’re mavericks!”
She kept talking about the “team of mavriks” … which brought to mind:
Brian: “You’re all individuals!”
Crowd [in unison]: “We’re all individuals!!!”
Cheers,
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:20 pmYou expect the airhead to be able to count? Or tell the truth?
Or none of the above.
Right.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:20 pmzuch, can’t see much of the brighter side of life this AM…
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:21 pmSarah Mascara owns a blue surge suit, so she KNOWS about surges (wink).
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:22 pmWhen you use the Big Lie or the little white lie, you never retract it! People might find out you do that stuff.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:22 pmOh, we are MAVERICKS and we’re OK
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:24 pmWe sleep all night and we lie all day!
Heartbeat
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:31 pmWith heartfelt apologies to Monty Python…
John McCain:
I’m a MAVERICK and I’m OK
I sleep all night and I lie all day.
Republicans:
John’s a MAVERICK and he’s OK
He sleeps all night and he lies all day.
John:
I cut taxes, I eat my lunch
I go to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays I go golfing and have a romp with my Cindeee!
Republicans:
He cuts down taxes, he eats his lunch
He goes to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays he goes golfing and romps with his Cindeee!
Reoublicans:
He’s a MAVERICK and he’s OK
He sleeps all night and he lies all day.
John:
I veto bills, I flip and flop,
I check out Sarah’s ass.
I put on women’s clothing and hang around in bars.
Republicans:
He vetoes bills, he flips and flops
He checks out Sarah’s ass.
He puts on women’s clothing and hangs around in bars?!
He’s a MAVERICK and he’s OK
He sleeps all night and he lies all day.
John:
I beat up libs, I wear high heels
Suspenders and a bra.
I wish I’d been a girlie, just like my dear Papa!!
Republicans:
I cut down trees, I wear high heels?!
Suspenders…and a bra?!…
Just John:
I wish I’d been a girlie, just like my dear Papa!!
Heheh!
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:32 pm.
O.K.
Up is down?
In is out?
And now…
2<1…?
.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:35 pmWhy should she? When did the truth ever matter to Republicans?
If truth mattered, if experience mattered, the GOP faithful would be up in arms over the selection of Sarah Palin as McCain’s running mate.
Of course, if truth mattered there wouldn’t be a single Republican office-holder anywhere in the US.
October 3rd, 2008 at 3:02 pmFolksy as compared to what? I didn’t see folksy I saw arrogance and a 90 min stump speech. she had no substance nor believability.
It was a game to her that she played like a pageant constant.
It’s down right dangerous to let this woman near anything government.
She needs to go back to the backwoods of Alaska.
Thanks plain for showing me that Alaska mean racist in the icy wilderness.
Obama\Biden
October 3rd, 2008 at 3:05 pmIt’s remarkable that the idiots still believe she is presidential.

October 3rd, 2008 at 3:24 pmAlot of Fox commentors have expressed shock at palin’s performance, however Fox website calls palin, cool and professional. The talking points will drift down during the day I am certain.
October 3rd, 2008 at 3:52 pmclusterphuck; consider yourself flagged with every post that you link to your stupid ads.
October 3rd, 2008 at 4:09 pmshe had the audacity to call some dem practices “naive.”
she also misstated that raising taxes would “kill” employment.
She lacks the depth and knowledge that a vp should have.
Biden was sharp as a tack.
October 3rd, 2008 at 4:13 pmThe data occurred to her.
October 3rd, 2008 at 5:31 pmShe couldn’t acknowledge having an Achille’s Heel either. What is with this inability or unwillingness to acknowledge being in error, even when the error is a verifiable number? It’s really pathological.
Bush in a dress.
