This is part and parcel of the Big Lie. The fringe, radical and extremist part of the Republican base has pushed the meme that they are “centrist” for a long time. The result is that they portray Democratic and liberal views as “far left”. By making the far right “centrist”, it makes it easier to confuse people.

People like Dick and Lynne Cheney are NOT centrist, do not represent the views of most Americans, and to assert otherwise is utter nonsense.

With all due respect to ralph the wonder llama, “conservatives” like George Will long ago pawned their dwindling intellectual integrity in the service of King George, the lesser.
