Word-of-mouth may get a round a bit on this stinker. But not to the benefit of Voight, Zucker, et al.…

Rotten Tomatoes gives it a big splat (although there seems to be some Freeping by the wingers in the reader ratings tab). Director David Zucker seems to have lost his marbles post-9/11 (and his sense of humour in the process, but given the shallowness, not too surprising that dried up….)

I’m an expatriate, living in the Lao P.D.R. They started dumping dollars here about 1 1/2 years ago, later than I myself dumped all of mine, except a couple I held on to for souvenirs. The Lao kip is going up, up, up. When I first arrived here about a month after the 2004 election, the exchange rate was about 10,800 to 1, and now it’s 8,600 to 1.
The Thai baht has been about staying even with the dollar.
A student of mine, from S. Korea, told me that the dollar is going up, in South Korea. He gets his pay in dollars, here, and he says he kind of wishes he was getting paid in dollars in S. Korea, instead.

Which only goes to show that “rightwing humor” is virtually an oxymoron…

Also – I highly recommend, for anyone who missed it, This American Life’s “Another Frightening Show About the Economy” episode from this weekend, which explains in depth, but in very human terms, what’s happening to our economy.

Apparently it’s all about paper.

Obama needs to nail this one hard. Here in MN, Obama is showing as high as a 15 point lead. This is a huge swing from the numbers shortly after the RNC Convention in early Sept.

Obama needs to clarify details about McKeating’s health plan, some of which is addressed by posters above on this thread.

When McKeating claims credit for the Wall St fiasco, Obama needs to portray the fact McKeating sat silent in the ’summit meeting’ for over 40 minutes, while claiming he suspended his campaign while at least 5 of his staff were doing interviews.

I discovered that scam when I was without health insurance for a short while. I take three prescriptions on a regular basis. Under my health plan I pay $27.00 for all three. Since my plan has a copay of $20.00 for prescriptions and each of my prescriptions is under that amount, that means I am paying what they cost the pharmacy. But, when I had no health insurance those three prescriptions cost me $67.00. It is ridiculous that they charge the people who can least afford it more for pharmaceuticals and doctor’s visits.

This worries me greatly because according to Brad Friedman (bradblog.com) the Democrats are doing pretty much nothing to prevent this from happening.

I like the idea of some independent organization offering a large reward to anyone who turns in evidence of voting machine mischief. The caging is already a done deal and there isn’t much we can do about it now since most states have closed voter registration. I’m betting there are right wing operatives who would be happy to make some money for reporting on the people who will be programming the voting machines to flip elections. I would be happy to contribute to a fund for rewards.
