In an effort to stop “talking about the economic crisis,” the right wing is in a frenzy over Sen. Barack Obama’s (D-IL) tenuous link to former Weatherman Bill Ayers. On Fox News’ Hannity and Colmes last night, Dick Morris argued that it was “the equivalent of having a close relationship with Osama bin Laden.” Watch it:
Morris’ over the top comparison illustrates the AP’s contention that the right wing’s attempt to portray Obama as “not like us” is “another potential appeal to racism” because “it suggests that the Hawaiian-born Christian is, at heart, un-American.”
It's the media version of intestional distress. It just sprays on the screen, leaving a horrific stench.
October 7th, 2008 at 11:45 amOh it would be awful if Obama were linked to rich Saudis and strongmen.
Oh, wait! Nevermind that's patriotic bravery!
October 7th, 2008 at 11:48 amThey are even more desperate than I thought possible. But if they wish to play this smear game, there are videos that exist of Sarah Palin's cozying up to the Alaska separatists. I mean, if it's a patriotism p!ssing contest they want...
October 7th, 2008 at 11:49 am“the equivalent of having a close relationship with Osama bin Laden.”
Except, you have ignored the well documented ties that the Bushes have to the bin Ladens... how fair, balanced and politically convenient.
October 7th, 2008 at 11:50 amThe polls show this to be backfiring on mccain....you know, the guy that was against this kind of politics, or at least that's what he said.
If it doesn't backfire on him then we are in deep doo doo anyway because the American people just aren't paying attention........a little time will tell the story.
October 7th, 2008 at 11:50 amThis is a perfect example of the right-wing being completely out of touch with America. The vote is 28 days away and they are talking about Ayers? Stop ten people on the street and ask them who Bill Ayers is, and I bet none of them can tell you. Stop ten people on the street and ask them about the economy and you will get a different response. McCain wants to talk about anything BUT the issues.
October 7th, 2008 at 11:51 amThere's a very select (but widening) circle of pundits who take incredible advantage of the media's reluctance to expel anyone from that club.
Dick Morris is vice-president of that group.
I think Billy Kristol is the head honcho. They couldn't give the chairmanship to Morris because even those guys don't take him seriously.
October 7th, 2008 at 11:52 amIt has come to this.
So, if the "he's the bestest buddy of terrorists" meme doesn't boost McSame's poll numbers, I guess they're going to actually have to start calling Obama himself a terrorist.
Makes me dread what The Maverick is going to pull out of his trick bag in the debate tonight.
October 7th, 2008 at 11:55 amDidn't mccan't live with "commies" for over 5 years?
October 7th, 2008 at 11:55 amI think they're overplaying their hand with this stuff. They're trying to equate sixties radicalism to the current war on terror. The "Weather Underground" of today is a Web site which distributes meteorological predictions.
October 7th, 2008 at 11:56 amMorris is plain and simply a racist. Might as well dress him in a white sheet.
October 7th, 2008 at 11:56 amFred, I'm usually at least a little fearful of shit like this working, because I've learned that the American public can make some really stupid, counter-intuitive choices (think 2000, 2004).
But I'm pretty confident this will fall flat, if not completely backfire. It didn't work or Hillary, and I'm pretty sure the American public is at least paying enough attnetion that when someone says the presidential front-runner "associates with terrorists", they're gonna want to know more. And when they find out what the McSame campaign is referring to with this story, they quickly realize it's just stupid, a stupid accusation to make.
Then they wonder why Grampy is talking about something as stupid as this when the economy is melting down.
October 7th, 2008 at 11:58 amYes, let's talk about "associations with terrorists." From CBSnews.com's front page:

October 7th, 2008 at 11:59 amThis nerd needs to have a closer relationship with his mom.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:04 pmI agree Ralph, this is pretty much irrelivant to most Americans when they are facing an economy in decline. They want to hear solutions not mud-slinging. Obama has stayed above it and it is paying off so far.
The right will try to beat the drum louder and louder but it will just start to be annoying is my hope.
I also want very badly to see the gop tied to this economic meltdown. They own it, they caused it. It was predicted and predictable. Please pay attention America.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:06 pmBin Laden votes GOP, absentee ballot out of Georgie's guest room at the ranch.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:08 pmWhen are we going to see some righteous anger from the Obama surrogates or his campaign over the incredible slandering, misleading ads the McCain campaign is putting out? It seems like there should be a whole hell of a lot more heat coming out of the campaign and it would be totally justified. The blogosphere is full of irate and indignant people, all clamoring for action from Obama against the Palin lies and distortions and innuendos and against the ‘holier-than-thou’ rhetoric from John McCain.
I thought Bill Richardson, on the Rachael Maddow show last night, would have been a good person to tear into the crap McCain was spewing in New Mexico yesterday, since it was his state McCain was using for his introduction to the ‘new’ campaign approach. He was much too mild about the whole thing.
The “a terrorist” and “kill him” and now “treason” shouted comments at the Palin and McCain rallies were inexcusable. That kind of inarticulate ignorance should never have been condoned by the two candidates; they certainly could have heard the remarks if the camera crew microphones picked up the slurs. How can they conscionably seem to ignore them?
The distortions by the McCain of the Obama comments about the Afghan civilian casualties is outright demagoguery. McCain’s questionable questions and statements about who Barack Obama is, belongs in the dung heap along with the Ayers and Wright remarks.
We need someone to firmly and once and for all stand up to the Rovian tactics, lies, distortions, theatrics, and deceptive practices – throw them all back in the faces of McCain and Palin. Someone to show the American people what these two – and their so-called advisers – would really mean to our country if they were somehow elected. Someone to slam the door on this cheap, spurious, vicious and disturbing line of attack.
This isn’t just a Democrat thing, the Republicans should be just as disturbed by McCain and Palin and their campaign allowing this degradation of presidential politics occur.
Who is going to stand up to this and say “No More!” and “Enough!!”? Who is going to educate the American people to ignore this kind of attack and ostracize those who derive satisfaction from the seemingly gleeful attempts by the McCain campaign – and its candidates – to keep spewing this junk?
October 7th, 2008 at 12:10 pmFox News is going into full-on propaganda mode.
They are circling the wagons and enlisting every available body into their crusade. It is evidence of their desperation.
But it is also evidence of how deceitful, and unethical Fos News is. They must be quarantined from the rest of the media (which isn't really much better) and Democrats and progressives must never, NEVER, appear on their tainted air. We must not validate their existence.
Starve The Beast!
October 7th, 2008 at 12:10 pm.
Once again, we're living in Oppositeland.
The exact opposite what the Reich is saying is true. The Bushes ARE close friends with the Bin Ladens. Ayers was against the Vietnam War, where McCain fried women and children with napalm. Obama was a child of 8 when all this was going on.
This shit is downright *weird*, isn't it...?
October 7th, 2008 at 12:11 pm"Didn’t mccan’t live with “commies” for over 5 years?"
Where, exactly, in Virginia was that?
October 7th, 2008 at 12:13 pmwait a minute: didn't dick morris JUST say two weeks ago that by suspending his campaign, mccain made a brilliant move and would save us all?
only to completely change his mind just this morning?
October 7th, 2008 at 12:13 pmBy the way Morris, if Ayers can be linked to Bin Laden, then we must have a lot of Bin Ladens loose in this country because anarchy during Vietnam was the norm. The spotlight is on Ayers only because he is more noticeable as a distinguished university professor.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:15 pmdaveincolorado Says:
engaging in thier tactics only validates them. Obama has stayed above it and it has worked so far.
Americans are the only ones who can stop the rovian tactics from working. They are currently much more interested in the economy and who can fix it.
That is why mccain is so desperate and it will be seen for exactly that in the current time frame.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:16 pmNorm Coleman was a Vietnam protester, I'm sure he and Obama have associated. Does that make him Norm Bin Laden?
October 7th, 2008 at 12:16 pmCalling all boogeymen! Nick Dorris needs you on set STAT!!!
October 7th, 2008 at 12:20 pmAside from the fact that the attacks are untrue I see four problems with Uncle Nutzi's strategy:
(1) Unlike with the Swiftyboaters in '04 the media (Fake News excepted but they really don't count) isn't biting and is increasingly turning on McNutzi (see CBS link above, Dana Milbank's report on Palin's Florida KKK rallies, etc.);
(2) The voters are losing their jobs, houses and investments and don't seem to have much interest in this ancillary stuff this year. they want substance from the candidates and only one is offering any;
(3) This garbage all got wheeled out in the primaries and didn't go anywhere. Ironically, Hillary Clinton's attacks may have done Obama a favor; and
(4) The palpable hatred from the crowds yelling "terrorist" and "kill him" is unlikely to make undecided voters side with the Republicans. If anything it makes the party faithful look like an unhinged lynch mob (as if there is any other kind).
This may be wishful thinking on my part but I am seeing more disgust than interest in reaction to the ranting.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:20 pmMethinks this swiftboat is sinking in 4, 3, 2, 1.....
Blub, blub.....
October 7th, 2008 at 12:20 pmGreat post, Annie. Let's face it: McCain is a daddy-sponger who's complicit with terrorism. He was tortured, and that is extremely unfortunate, but in his mind it only matters that he was tortured -- forget about using his powers as a senator to spare others the pain.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:22 pmDick Morris owes the IRS $1.5 million in back taxes.
Dick Morris was caught sucking on a hooker's toes. (True)

October 7th, 2008 at 12:24 pmHey, #9... not only did he live with "commies", he gave them information about American troop levels and positions. He betrayed his fellow soldiers and his fellow POWs. They didn't call him "Songbird" for nothing.
So let McCain pull the "terrorist" accusation. It is time that the DNC went for McCain's throat. Take a page out of the Rove playbook and turn his strength into a weakness. Pull some of his fellow POWs out of the crowd and let them tell the truth about Songbird McSame.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:25 pmThanks, McWars.
I find myself fascinated (in a sick and twisted way) by watching these people twist themselves into such complete mental pretzels in order to believe all this absurd crap...
I really think all these lunatic mental gymnastics are merely justification for their racism; they're all ashamed of being racist, so they just make up this shit to justify it all.
Jebus. It'd be healthier for them to just admit that they ARE racists - and get psychological help.

That would pretty much be my take on it too, Buckie. All they seem to have is ugly nonsense like this, coupled w/ absurdities like, "Since Sarah can see Russia from Alaska, she has foreign policy experience", or, even better, "Well John was bangin' this Brazilian beauty queen 50 years ago, so he understands Latin America".
Talk about running on fumes... over at HuffPo, the big banner at the top of the page is about the increasingly surly, violent undertone at McCain/Palin campaign stops. Apparently the prospect of a black man in White House is getting to them. Got desperation?

October 7th, 2008 at 12:32 pmGet real. These people are just as dangerous as any totalitarian groups whether they be Nazis or Stalinist communists. They can only be stopped in manner and that is through their violent extermination. This poses the real question for the left in the United States - are they willing to do what it takes to save democracy and our freedoms.
Too many note that action should have been taken against Hitler, Stalin, Saddam, or many other dictators or and radical political movements that in the end caused the unnecessary deaths of millions. How do we justify inaction when so threatened in the United States?

October 7th, 2008 at 12:39 pmThis morning I flipped around the tv news shows for a minute and was subjected to:
-Dick Morris' smears (and Kieran on CNN saying, "It's always nice to talk to you" to him. Good thing I hadn't eaten anything yet.)
-Giuliani (I switched away immediately)
-clips from The View in which that crazy right-wing Hasselwhack spouts nonsense about Obama
Insanity abounds!
October 7th, 2008 at 12:39 pmUpdate on Corsi (he was deported from Kenya today):
Corsi's book questions links between Obama and Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who is from the same Luo ethnic group as Obama's father, a well-known economist who died in 1982.
An e-mail sent to Kenyan journalists before Tuesday's book launch said that Corsi would "expose details of deep secret ties" between Obama and certain Kenyan government officials as well as a "subsequent plot to be executed in Kenya" if Obama is elected president.
The e-mail also claimed that Corsi planned to meet Obama's half-brother, George, who lives in a Nairobi slum, and present him with a $1,000 check from Joseph Farah, founder of the conservative WorldNetDaily.com website.
The Standard, one of Kenya's leading daily newspapers, described Corsi's visit in Tuesday morning's editions as "a smear crusade" that "makes no secret of the intention to hurl dirt at Obama and undermine his campaign from his ancestral home."
Obama is wildly popular among Kenyans of all tribes, and news of the press conference appeared to spur authorities into action.
"The government didn't want to be seen allowing that gentleman to give a statement denouncing Obama," Mbae said.
Even the five-star hotel where Corsi was scheduled to appear issued a statement later saying that it "does not condone any smear campaigns."
Obama barely knew his father, who had problems with alcohol and died in a car crash in Kenya at age 46. The Illinois senator wrote poignantly of investigating his identity in Kenya in his 1995 memoir, "Dreams from My Father," and last came to the country on an official visit in 2006.
So, he went there as a stunt, with a check from WorldNutDaily's Farah. That he was able to get the Kenyans to go on record as supporting Obama will no doubt be used by Farah to imply some sort of terrorist, or just plain black foreigners back Obama's candidacy. In that sense, I guess Corsi fulfilled his real mission in going there.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:42 pmNot a single, solitary successful act or initiative or strategy over the last 8 years.
One in three judges sitting on the federal bench was appointed by Bush.
It's his lone accomplishment.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:43 pmNobody on the left should EVER mention Dick Morris' name without also using the word toesucker.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:44 pmThis snippet is from an Oct. 2 opinion piece by Richard Clarke:
'Even more likely is the possibility that al Qaeda would hope the attack would benefit John McCain. Opinion polls, which, as noted above, al Qaeda reads closely, suggest that an attack would help McCain. Polls in Europe and the Middle East also suggest an overwhelming popular support there for Barack Obama. Al Qaeda would not like it if there were a popular American president again.
Richard Clarke was the National Security Council's national coordinator for security and counterterrorism.'
October 7th, 2008 at 12:46 pmIn that sense, maybe some good came out of handing over the White House and both houses of Congress to Republicans in 2000. The country has taken a hell of a hit, but at least most voters got a clear look at what happens when you put the apparatus of government in the hands of people who hate government.

It's not relevant to the issues - sort of like the Ayers smear.

Clinton wasn't paying someone to lick smegma from between their toes.
Cigars, however, are a mark of elegance. Cheese is not.
October 7th, 2008 at 1:01 pmIt was these same smear campaigns that turned off may voters for Hillary (Hi, rhf!).
I was one of them. I was on the fence, until character attacks were more prominent than actual facts.
It appears to be having the same effect now.
Obama and especially Biden have used facts to counter the other campaign.
October 7th, 2008 at 1:02 pmThe writing is on the wall.
McCain pulls out of Michigan, a battleground state.
McCain is struggling in states that overwhelmingly voted Bush.
Obama's lead increases.
It's all they have left.
But, I truly do think that America has finally woken up, and is paying attention.
We've got a lot a cleaning up to do come Jan '09.
I respect Obama. I believe in him. But I don't envy him.
What a flippin' mess he's going to inherit.
All due to the fiasco known as Bush!
For us Military Mom's this isn't news. We hear from our soldiers overseas and Vet's at home that McCain I think the word is SUCKS. Now as for the Media their still doing their best to keep the truth from the public. Slowly it comes out but their now two many fires to put out. Once Americans realize the reason our troops have nothing is because the Pentagon used the money for bribes and kick backs all hell will break loose. When this country see the truth of what this Administration has done over the pass eight years it will be a horror that no movie could make. Even today Bush/Cheney and Goldman Sachs are stealing borrowed money while giving the soldiers nothing at all.
October 7th, 2008 at 1:05 pmSuch statements made by Morris stamped by McCain's camp, delivered to crowds by Sarah Palin shows the bankruptcy of McCain's campaign.
October 7th, 2008 at 1:05 pmWith time is running out,and no plans to discuss anything important like the economy...all efforts by McCain's camp are geared now toward Obama's alleged terrorism link.
When Ayers was accused of such stories of radicalism and others, Obama then was an 8 years old boy.
Morris should be shown and reminded with picture of Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam Hussein looking to start some projects with Saddam.
What does that make Rumsfled then?!
If McCain thinks that Ayers story will deliver him the Presidency ,I say to him:"It is too little, too late".
Shayne, what do you think Farah was attempting to accomplish, by giving Obama' brother a check?
This stunt should be hung 'round his piggy little neck.
October 7th, 2008 at 1:07 pmMorris seems to have inadvertently condemned former President HW Bush, who was "hanging out" with Saleem bin Laden on 9/11.
October 7th, 2008 at 1:10 pmDick Morris argued that it was “the equivalent of having a close relationship with Osama bin Laden.”
And, of course, McCain appeased terrorists back in the 80's!
October 7th, 2008 at 1:11 pmI'm a little surprised that the audience remembers who OBL is (or was) since he's only mentioned a few weeks before each national election since 2001. Somehow someone who became the most wanted terrorist in the world under republican watch is only mentioned to attack democrats just before elections.
October 7th, 2008 at 1:12 pmIf Ayers was dangerous he would be in jail.
Everybody knows Sen. Obama had nothing to do with his activities when Sen. Obama was only 8 yrs old.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:54 pm
on the same logic, by the way, if Obama were really a threat to change or even much challenge the ruling-class dynamic of the country, he'd be in jail or dead by now, too.
October 7th, 2008 at 1:14 pmbarfly, I'm just sorry Kenya doesn't want to hang on to Corsi for a while. Maybe hold him for trial on suspicion of anything they can think of.
October 7th, 2008 at 1:15 pmIf the right wing wants to draw this kind of connection, then ask them to explain the connection between Prescott Bush (W's grand-daddy) and the Nazi war machine.
George Bush's grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany.
It has been confirmed from files in the US National Archives that a firm of which Prescott Bush was a director was involved with the financial architects of Nazism. The firm he worked for, Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH), acted as a US base for the German industrialist, Fritz Thyssen, who helped finance Hitler in the 1930s before falling out with him at the end of the decade.
I'm sure they won't mind and will be glad to get into all the details.
October 7th, 2008 at 1:15 pmFWIW, Here's an email I just sent to Josh over at TPM, entitled "Who is Bill Ayers?":
Josh, altho the events of 40 years ago are kinda foggy these days I do remember a bit about Bill Ayers.
First of all, Bill's dad was no schmuck - he was Chairman of the Board of Commonwealth Edison, the Illinois electric utility. So Ayers was raised in a rather priviledged environment (wealth-wise).
Secondly, it must be remembered that Ayers (and the Weathermen) were fighting to stop the Viet Nam War and bring our troops home. While their anti-war tactics were not the best, their tactics must also be viewed in the context of American politics at that time.
Never before had the American people reared up and shouted to the American Government: Stop what you are doing and reverse course (on such a huge and monumental issue as the Viet Nam War). So were the Weathermen's tactics "wrong"?
Yes, obviously, in the sense of illegal violence. But, in my opinion, no in the sense of ending this country's most senseless war to date, and a war in which we lost - what, 50,000+/- of our sons and daughters? And not even speaking about the financial cost of that senseless war?
Perhaps we needed another Bill Ayers over the last X # of years to get us out of Iraq?????
October 7th, 2008 at 1:18 pmEasy there, Shayne, we can't expect backwards nations like Kenya to adhere to the same kind of legal principles that we in the United States have brought to the world.
October 7th, 2008 at 1:20 pm" ... having a close relationship with Osama bin Laden.”
is he talking about dubya?
October 7th, 2008 at 1:22 pmWouldn't having a family member (Salim Bin Laden) fund your business venture be more akin to having a "relationship" with Osama Bin Laden?
Isn't that what Bush did with Arbusto Energy??
October 7th, 2008 at 1:23 pmIsn’t that what Bush did with Arbusto Energy??

October 7th, 2008 at 1:23 pmdaveincolorado Says:
When are we going to see some righteous anger from the Obama surrogates or his campaign over the incredible slandering, misleading ads the McCain campaign is putting out?
If they start up with "righteous anger", they are going to play right into the Republicans hands. By not giving these accusations credence (i.e. pretty much ignoring them), they are showing how shallow they are. Besides, it looks like the MSM (at least the AP, the NY Times and a few others) are taking care of it for Obama by pointing out that there's nothing "there there".
October 7th, 2008 at 1:23 pmNa, the republicans have created a mess that is so large that they want out from under it. Their goal a this point is to keep from being blamed for it.....good luck.
October 7th, 2008 at 1:24 pmAw shucks ralph. Now I'm sad.
October 7th, 2008 at 1:27 pmWhat's wrong with Fox news????
I guess they don't want to tackle the economic issues in any substantive way because their position of economic deregulated speculation (Regan trickle down, tax cutting policy etc.) is failing (read Fukuyama in this week's Newsweek-essentially claiming Reganism has run its course).
Blaming and blaming instead of maybe self reflecting on their own thinking/ideology?? Uh nah, that's too hard a pill to swallow.
They simply shift the discussion to stupid petty talk. The station could morph into the National Enquirer of television (apologies to the National Enquirer).
October 7th, 2008 at 1:27 pmWhat a contrast between this election and the last two for the Republicans. In both 2000 and 2004, the Rove machine was extremely focused, organized, disciplined, and stayed on message (even though the message itself was all about fear). They knew exactly what they had to do to get 270 electoral votes and poured all their energy into that goal without allowing themselves to get distracted.
Now, the campaign is anything but focused, organized, and disciplined. And the message changes daily (sometimes hourly). They have nothing of the past eight years to be proud of. They can't proclaim "change" without sounding like a joke. And Americans aren't buying the warmed over leftovers of fear, flags, and freedom.

October 7th, 2008 at 1:29 pmCheer up, Shayne. Maybe Kenya will decide to move into the post-9/11 world and announce that they're holding Corsi as an "enemy combatant" and they can deny him access to lawyers or even an opportunity to know the charges against him.

barfly, I’m just sorry Kenya doesn’t want to hang on to Corsi for a while. Maybe hold him for trial on suspicion of anything they can think of.
I've just been over to WorldNutDaily, [scratches behind ear] and they're now claiming Corsi was a reporter for them, about to reveal some darkly-alluded "arrangement" between the leader of Kenya, and Obama - and in the middle of the WND press-release, they ran an ad for Corsi's book!
Farah is attempting to inject WND into the political debate, for the price of a thousand-dollar check - a check, that was never delivered!

mcchimpy you can't go to the debate with your own rules like your rude, arrogant mate did. This will not be tolerated. We are coming harder and you must answer questions.
No more nasty lies about your opponent, no more sniping together Sen. Obama speeches to make your lies work, no more back peddling, snide, cruel comments and no more old man fish stories.
mcchimpy if you feel a lie coming on, count to 1000, let Sen. Obama get the truth out then repeat your tired old lies.
You will lose again. It's just a fact. Sen. Obama will remain Sen. Obama while you will morph into another one of your fakeass characters.

October 7th, 2008 at 1:56 pmAnd can I just say as a second generation Chicagoan how tired I am of Republicans smearing this city on a regular basis. They act like Al Capone still rides around with machine gunners on running boards. Chicago is in the running for the Olympics and if they aren't held here we can thank Republicans for the continual smearing. Also, business, tourism and housing are all basically thriving here as opposed to much of the rest of the country. And that can be attributed to the great job Mayor Daley does of keeping the city beautiful by investing in its infrastructure. And only Rethugs who have never set foot in this city complain about imaginary corruption.

Well of course I'm concerned, ralph. It's not your opposing viewpoint that I dismissed. It was your attempt to ignore the fact that Dems are obviously part of the cause of the financial trouble. I merely pointed out the inaccuracy of the numerous posts claiming that Repubs are solely responsible. You wouldn’t want people to be misinformed, would you?
I’m aware that you occasionally defend those with opposing views. I’m open to your opinion as to why my comment was thoughtless or meant to provoke. Do you think it is untrue? Do you think it is ok to have people thinking the Dems are innocent in the matter when it isn’t true? Kind of makes them low information voters. Bill Clinton, a much respected Dem, acknowledged that Dems bear responsibility.
Most of the Repubs who are responsible for the situation will be gone in January. Most of the Dems will still be in office and will know that their base absolved them of any blame because of their rabid need to attack Repubs. If you know they contributed to the problem and let it slide, why would you expect them to change their behavior on the next issue? Perhaps you can shed some light on the phenomenon of people who are so partisan that they look the other way regarding the transgressions of their own.

It's really charitable of you to ignore those who are only partially responsible for a problem. Is 50% the cutoff? 50% or less responsible and you get a pass? October 8th, 2008 at 10:12 amHe left out something.....
John McCain's campaign released a list of 100 former ambassadors endorsing the GOP presidential nominee.
Second on the list, though her name is misspelled, is Leonore Annenberg, currently the president and chairman of the Annenberg Foundation and widow of ambassador and philanthropist Walter Annenberg. Ms. Annenberg was herself the "chief of protocol" at the State Department under President Reagan.
If the last name sounds familiar, it's because it also graces the name of the Chicago education board where Barack Obama and William Ayers sat in the room six times together.
In recent days, the McCain-Palin ticket (and particularly Palin) has faulted Obama for having served on that board with Ayers, who was a founding member of the radical 60's Weather Underground group when Obama was in grade school.

Did you know that ACORN is required, BY LAW, to submit EVERY registration their workers bring to them? That they attempt to authenticate each and every registration? And that they submit suspect and/or incomplete registrations separately, which are furthermore flagged and brought to the attention of election officials upon submittal?
The "raid" on ACORN's offices are nothing more than staged propaganda tools for the GOP, who are the ones you should be worried about if you're so concerned about the integrity of our elections. Hell, the RNC press release on the raids was a transcript of a "FOX and Friends" piece on the subject- VER BATIM.
