Seen the polls lately?

Did you know that ACORN is required, BY LAW, to submit EVERY registration their workers bring to them? That they attempt to authenticate each and every registration? And that they submit suspect and/or incomplete registrations separately, which are furthermore flagged and brought to the attention of election officials upon submittal?

The “raid” on ACORN’s offices are nothing more than staged propaganda tools for the GOP, who are the ones you should be worried about if you’re so concerned about the integrity of our elections. Hell, the RNC press release on the raids was a transcript of a “FOX and Friends” piece on the subject- VER BATIM.

John McCain’s campaign released a list of 100 former ambassadors endorsing the GOP presidential nominee.

Second on the list, though her name is misspelled, is Leonore Annenberg, currently the president and chairman of the Annenberg Foundation and widow of ambassador and philanthropist Walter Annenberg. Ms. Annenberg was herself the “chief of protocol” at the State Department under President Reagan.

If the last name sounds familiar, it’s because it also graces the name of the Chicago education board where Barack Obama and William Ayers sat in the room six times together.

In recent days, the McCain-Palin ticket (and particularly Palin) has faulted Obama for having served on that board with Ayers, who was a founding member of the radical 60’s Weather Underground group when Obama was in grade school.

No, blue. I’m most certainly not the base. That was the point. I don’t make excuses for politicians because they belong to a certain party. I expect all politicians to take responsibility for their mistakes, especially the ones I support. I know how upsetting it is to folks like you to encounter people who support your candidate but refuse to make excuses for mistakes of those in your party. If that’s a concern troll, so be it.

Good job. I’m convinced. It must have been Barack Obama who told an actuarial journal that he wanted to do for health care what he had done for the banking industry. What a maroon.

You seem to have missed the point that Bill was making in his comment. Bill was pointing out that he, and some Repubs, pointed out the need to tighten regulations on Fannie and Freddie, but Dems opposed it. You’ll note that he didn’t say Repubs bear no responsibility or all responsibility. He was making the point that Dems share the responsibility.

I hope you can point out my “fervent support for Republicans.” I’m not aware of fervently supporting any politician beyond my teens when I discovered that many of them are crooks. I want to be informed as well. Please enlighten me. ;)

It’s really charitable of you to ignore those who are only partially responsible for a problem. Is 50% the cutoff? 50% or less responsible and you get a pass? Or does it have to be 5% before one is absolved of responsibility? Dems need to have this information in order to know how much they can get away with before the base will hold them accountable.

You’re obviously not that familiar with my contributions here. I have more than once stood up for a reasonable contrarian poster when others have branded him or her a troll.

I don’t believe that the term “troll” applies to everyone who offers a different opinion. I think it applies to those who do so with little thought, or who simply seek to provoke.

Well of course I’m concerned, ralph. It’s not your opposing viewpoint that I dismissed. It was your attempt to ignore the fact that Dems are obviously part of the cause of the financial trouble. I merely pointed out the inaccuracy of the numerous posts claiming that Repubs are solely responsible. You wouldn’t want people to be misinformed, would you?

I’m aware that you occasionally defend those with opposing views. I’m open to your opinion as to why my comment was thoughtless or meant to provoke. Do you think it is untrue? Do you think it is ok to have people thinking the Dems are innocent in the matter when it isn’t true? Kind of makes them low information voters. Bill Clinton, a much respected Dem, acknowledged that Dems bear responsibility.

Most of the Repubs who are responsible for the situation will be gone in January. Most of the Dems will still be in office and will know that their base absolved them of any blame because of their rabid need to attack Repubs. If you know they contributed to the problem and let it slide, why would you expect them to change their behavior on the next issue? Perhaps you can shed some light on the phenomenon of people who are so partisan that they look the other way regarding the transgressions of their own.
