Palin will sit for two more Fox News interviews; campaign scoffs at idea of a press conference.

Fox News announced today that it scored two more interviews with Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK). A Sean Hannity interview with Palin and John McCain will air tomorrow night, followed by a Palin interview by Greta Van Susteren. Hours after the announcement, McCain spokeswoman Nicolle Wallace — who has already shown her disdain for the media — scoffed at the suggestion that Palin conduct a press conference and take questions from reporters. Watch it:

Tomorrow night’s interview will be Palin’s third with Hannity — and fourth with Fox News — though she has yet to agree to talk with NBC, CNN, or MSNBC.

When was the last time Dick Cheney gave a press conference?

  2. stateofthedivision Says:

Palin's press is to be corralled, cattle prodded and abused by the rodeo fans at McCain-Palin rallies.

Have you seen what they do to the calves to make them flee the chute for calf roping events? That's the Palin press.

    - - I watched part of Palin's Florida speech this morning on MSNBC. Free air time for Sarahcuda to spew her distortions.

My point though is this; Until ANY presidential candidate gives a press conference with full give-and-take questions, no TV cable or network news organization should carry live, on-air, any of these stump speeches as "news."

  4. tombaker Says:

That Nicole Wallace is the most wanton liar/cheerleader I've ever witnessed. She would beat Palin in a "grasper cagematch"

Integrity and self-respect are indeed extinct.

  5. ralph the wonder llama Says:

Hannity: "Governor Palin, will John McCain be a great president? Or the Greatest president?"

Palin: "That's a darned good question, Sean. Ya know, I think we'll just have to leave that to the future hitorians."

So nice of the McDepends/Bible Spice ticket to let everyone know that they refuse to speak to journalists.........

Guess they've given up on the idea of courting independents. I know of no one other than the far right wing who watches FuxNews.

Not counting any chickens, and my efforts over the next 27 days will continue, and ramp up even more, but I do think I hear the faint sound of the Fat Lady singing off in the distance.

Now, if we can only get Bush to step aside on November 5th, we can get moving on fixing this mess he's made.

    PEACE

Hannity reminds me more and more of the "Voice of London" in the movie, "V." And Fox "scored" two more interviews? Not tough for Fascist News Network. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if we found out that they have been funded, in part, by the "black budgets" for covert psyops in this government. I don't think they are the only ones either.

  9. GSD Says:

Any chance the McCain/Palin campaign will hire Leni Reifenstahl to do a favorable video of St. Sarah of the Snow Machine.

My wife has recently taken to watching Faux News because she finds it so hilarious in its naked partisan shilling.

Yes, I'm a little worried about her.

It is entirely inaccurate to say that Failin' Palin has agreed to two interviews with FoxSnooze. The correct statement: "Failin' Palin has scheduled two additional infomercials with FoxSnooze."

Good call, tom. Jon Stewart did a great compilation of previous Palin-Faux interviews married with infomercial clips. Absolutely pitch-perfect match in tone and content.

  15. liberal traitor Says:

I love how Wallace dismisses doing press conferences as somehow beneath Palin and a waste of her time because she's "focused on talking to the American people" etc etc, and then in almost the same breath tries to prove how open and welcoming to the press Palin is. It's like listening to McCain talk about ANYTHING, there is no cogent train of thought to be had.

Oh yeah, and on the subject of Palin's relationship with the press, from Crooksandliars.com:

Worse, Palin’s routine attacks on the media have begun to spill into ugliness. In Clearwater, arriving reporters were greeted with shouts and taunts by the crowd of about 3,000. Palin then went on to blame Katie Couric’s questions for her “less-than-successful interview with kinda mainstream media.” At that, Palin supporters turned on reporters in the press area, waving thunder sticks and shouting abuse. Others hurled obscenities at a camera crew. One Palin supporter shouted a racial epithet at an African American sound man for a network and told him, “Sit down, boy.”

Isn't suppression of the free press one of those 14 points of Fascism? Hmm...

Yeah, that Palin, she's a real winner with the press. Definitely open, too.

  16. Bullsmith Says:

She's not even willing to ask for your vote. The arrogance is astounding.

  17. Zooey Says:

    Palin is chickenshit.

  18. MCMetal Says:

Nicolle Wallace : News conference ? No , her priority is talking to the American people and talking to the voters...

Translation = It's much easier to lie constantly without being interrupted by someone from the press , because those who are going to get a glimpse of Bible Spice are low-info morons who don't care what the truth is anyway.........

  19. bronzbootz Says:

“She invites reporters on the trail with her”… and keeps them lock in a little “reporters box” just so the only thing they can quote from her are her stupid non-reality-based screeds. Corporate “journalists” are such cowards today.

  20. Above the Clouds Says:

Is it really an "interview" if Hannity gives her both the questions and answers?

  21. MCMetal Says:

Constantly under the watchful eyes of security, the media wasn't permitted to wander around inside Coachman Park to talk to Sarah Palin supporters. When reporters tried to leave the designated press area and head toward the bleachers where the crowd was seated, an escort would dart out of nowhere and confront him or her and say, "Can I help you?'' and turn the person around.

When one reporter asked an escort, who would not give her name, why the press wasn't allowed to mingle, she said that in the past, negative things had been written. The campaign wanted to avoid that possibility Monday.

Yeah , Nicolle , you stupid lying GOP pig , the above clearly reveals the "open book" Bible Spice truly is and all her accessibility .............What a total crock of shit.

    - - I don't understand this "preaching to the choir" by the McCain campaign. It's as if they think by burnishing Palin's image into their base, they can get each individual vote to count twice as much.

  24. bronzbootz Says:

    impeachcheneythenbush Says:

Hannity reminds me more and more of the “Voice of London” in the movie, “V.”

When I saw it, I immediately though he was a Limbaugh/ O’reilly fusion. Hannity is too stupid and “unrefined” to be the inspiration. The former are "professionals," Hannity, though “talented” is just a 2nd rate tool. That's why Limbaugh is paid 4x more and Orielly gets more viewers.

  25. Bilbo Hussein Baggins Says:

Oh how noble of her. She will allow two more Faux Noise puff pieces. Does she have any idea what a joke she is. If she's too afraid to talk to reporters (and please don't call the talking heads on Faux Noise "reporters") then how in the hell could she stand up to a foreign leader, or even to Congress?

  26. Bilbo Hussein Baggins Says:

    #stateofthedivision Says:
Palin’s press is to be corralled, cattle prodded and abused by the rodeo fans at McCain-Palin rallies.

For the life of me I don't understand why reporters continue to follow her around like puppy dogs. Every MSM outlet (other than Faux, of course) should just ignore her. They all end up looking like twits following her around hoping she will just talk to them. Maybe they all have the hots for her the same way most of the men on the right do.

I don't think that's why they are allowing her to do the Faux Noise interviews. I think they want to be able to say "see, she's not afraid of the press, she gave two more interviews". Of course we all know what a crock that is.

  28. nobillary Says:

James Fallows had a post today, which may apply:

28th Amendment to the Constitution (draft form)
"No Person shall be elected President or Vice President without accepting a session of questioning by the press, such session to last no less than one hour and to be open to normally accredited members of the press in the same fashion as at Presidential news conferences. The questioning shall occur and the results shall be made freely available to the public at least one week before an Election is held."

But I'm not sure what he means by "draft form" so it might mean it's a tongue-in-cheek proposal but it sure sounds like a GREAT idea to me.

FAUX "News" Channel viewers ? The most uninformed .2% of the entire US population ?

  33. alpuz3 Says:

Hey, JK. You know who's really afraid of Sean? The Ron Paul supporters who called his bluff and sent him sprinting for safety.

Classic Rethug tough guy... all hat and no cattle.

what a joke you fools have become.

  34. galmud Says:

Palin is a joke and a coward. Shes given a total of zero press conferences, six interviews, and once tried to shut out the press from her school field trip to the UN.

Of the six interviews she made a complete fool of herself in the two real ones, with Gibson and Couric.

In her second CBS interview she had to bring daddy McCain to speak for her (and clean up her mess) because Couric and voters asked too many "gotcha questions"

The other three "interviews", two was on Faux News Hannity and Cameron and the third with Kristol.

And now Palin goes back on Faux News for two more so called interviews? And another with Hannity!? Is she even too afraid to face Chris Wallace?

Lets look at the total so far:

    Press conferences: 0

    Interviews
    ABC: 1
    CBS: 1.5
    NBC: 0
    CNN: 0
    MSNBC: 0
    FAUX: 4 (2 x Hannity)
    NYT: 1 (Kristol)

  35. nobillary Says:

One more thing! I find it hard to believe that they aren't breaking some kind of election law in keeping her from the press. Has anyone looked into that? It seems to be VERY Unamerican to me that they would expect us to vote for her when we don't even know her. It's absolutely inconceivable that, in this day and age, they're getting away with it, too!

  36. Badmoodman Says:

Why would Senator Obama (that is his name) want to be interviewed by that college drop out racist POS. He has been interviewd by journalists of all political stripes, Sean Hannity is not a journalist just ignorant trash, who happens to have a TV and radio show. You, JK, don't have a TV or radio show, so you aren't even as successful as Sean Hannity, and that's pretty darn sad.

  39. pete Says:

    nobillary:

I don't think there is a law which demands a candidate appear before the press. But, before now, I don't think there's ever been a candidate who has so blatantly hidden from scrutiny. It's the most bizarre strategy I've ever seen. Alienating the very people one needs to get elected seems just plain stupid.

On the other hand, so far as I can tell, Bible Spice has never produced a direct, honest, informed "answer" to any question so? We're not missing much. Bimbo Borealis just doesn't add anything to a conversation.

  47. Rutabaga Says:

Speaking of Sean Hannity...you know, people like him have always questioned people's patriotism for the last 8 years when it came to George Bush, I think most especially on the Iraq occupation. They always say something to the effect of you must support everything the president says and does, otherwise you are a traitor and committing treason!" So, here's my question...if Obama does become president, will Hannity and his ilk support him in everything he says and does? Hm?

    As if.

  48. drago Says:

No press conference? NO PRESS CONFERENCE?!

Welcome to the Soviet Union. McCain-Palin are have morphed into Communists!

  49. drago Says:

So Palin won't talk to the press. Un-freaking-believable.

It PROVES as FACT that McCain-Palin are like SCARED little girls who are absolutely UNFIT to SERVE.

  50. sectionop92 Says:

It's funny that Sarah Palin goes running behind Faux News' skirt because Katie Couric landed some hard blows. Katie freakin' Couric! Palin's ineptness just got Couric a big raise and made Katie "put cancer developments as the lead story" Couric as a toughie. LMAO

Maybe if I was as dumb as a bag of nails, I'd avoid people like Bob Scheiffer too. But FAUX NEWS?! That's like having Charlie Gibson put Palin's ankle in an ankle lock and twisting it and Katie Couric with Palin's arm in an arm bar ready to snap it. Palin has tapped out to the unlikeliest TV anchor duo to make her submit.

Palin is not a pit bull with lipstick. She's just another fish who got gobbled up by a mean polar bear. Sarah Palin doesn't go after a fight...she runs from it. She isn't a fighter, but rather screams "not in the face". Sarah Palin needs to go back to the Realm of Make Believe that is the Governor's mansion in Alaska where she might still be relevant. Because her 15 minutes of fame have about three minutes left on the clock!

  51. NJmikeV Says:

I loved her blinking incredulity when asked about a news conference.

News conference? We don't need no stinkin' news conference!

  52. markusmarkus Says:

We don't need no stinkin' press conference.

  53. squidbilly Says:

The McDrain Failin' campaign is sinking by the day. How to get votes??

Simple, don't talk to anyone except for your "base" and on the "news" network of your base. One problem, the "base" won't win the election.

    What a bunch of retards.
