I know Steve – he’s funny, he’s down to earth. This interview is about a BOOK – wherein he tales great stories about his kids, his dad. It’s about HUMOR – maybe in the times we live in, we all need to get a dose of that?

It should be thankful that the Left is alot more tolerant of postings than the Right. Why, just the other day, Redstate had at least one posting in every comment thread that had been defaced by the admins because the poster didn’t toe the line. Funny how they come here to talk $#!+ but can’t stand it in their back yard.

Well, Mr. Troll, part of this site is to expose the neandertalish behavior of your side. I mean: Saying girls don’t wanna play sports? They’re just there to ‘hang out’? Wow. Tell that to the Lady Buccaneers track and field team of ‘92. Tell that to the Lady Tigers Basketball Team of ‘94. Tell that to today’s Lady Roadrunners Volleyball team. You’re likely to get your little pasty fat ass beaten by all those women, and every other woman who DOES take playing sports seriously. Your sexism is showing, and so is Doocy’s.

What you all SERIOUSLY lack is a sense of humor. And so much TIME on your hands to worry about “catching” somebody saying something stupid! Have you considered working for a living, becoming productive and actually making a contribution???? Not likely. Your comments reek of pubescent jealousy. Maybe I shouldn’t tell Doocy the story of a fellow female classmate and athlete I watched and admired greatly in high school, no matter if she dominated on the practice fields in P.E. class, went after the ball, defended and scored on the basketball court en route to the team being one of the best in the county or how she was ultra competitive on the track and field in multiple events and would go onto being a league and division winner.

Then again, she would go onto West Point to learn how to be an officer in this nation’s Army and served in Iraq. Then would lose her arm in service for our nation. But don’t tell Steve Doocy that. He wouldn’t like to know the story of one Dawn Halfaker.

Just another example of sports playing the absolute wrong role in our society. The win at any cost mentality is strong in our atheletic programs.

Why isn’t his example about academics, you know, something that matters.

I wasn’t into athletic activities much as a child, but I had female friends who were. Unlike the stereotype Doocy tries to perpetuate, my friends took their softball and soccer very seriously, and were very good at what they did.

I am guessing that Doocy probably wound up with a bunch of girls who were engaging in the activity to make somebody else happy (like their parents?) and would have been happier themselves if they had been doing something else.

Trying to get kids to stay focused when they have no enthusiasm to do so is a challenge regardless of gender.
