The NY Observer reveals that right-wing radio host Hugh Hewitt’s next book, “How Sarah Palin Won the Election…and Saved America,” is unlikely to ever get published:
One campaign book that has already bitten the dust is right-wing radio host Hugh Hewitt’s How Sarah Palin Won the Election … and Saved America, which the literary agent Curtis Yates sent to publishers in New York last week.
When Media Mob reached Mr. Yates by phone on Monday, he’d already given up on trying to sell the book.
According to Yates, the plan was to finish the book “by a week after the election, and to have it out before the inauguration” and “obviously presumed” that McCain-Palin would win. “If they were to lose the election it would have just been How Sarah Palin Saved America,” Mr. Yates said. (HT: Oliver Willis)
You need to destroy something to save it, is that the logic being used here?
October 9th, 2008 at 1:07 pmHopefully his plane will get rerouted into unfriendly african territory
October 9th, 2008 at 1:09 pm“If they were to lose the election it would have just been How Sarah Palin Saved America,” Mr. Yates said.
What’s the problem? He should write the book. By helping to lose the election, Sarah Palin is doing her part to save America.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:12 pmHe could sell it as fiction, couldn’t he?
October 9th, 2008 at 1:13 pmDoes it get any dumber than Hugh Hewitt?

Hey Hey!
Don’t forget Faux & Friends. They sure are ‘respectable’, right?
October 9th, 2008 at 1:17 pm………. RIGHT?
Even publishers recognize the short shelf life of Sarah Palin. After November 4, she will be reduced to a crossword clue and a Jeopardy response. There’s no money to be made from a book about her.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:18 pmWho Hewitt?
snark
October 9th, 2008 at 1:18 pmThis is about as erudite and well-advised as OJ’s “If I Did It…” tome.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:20 pmIf you look up “Shameless Whore” in the Dictionary there’s a picture of Hugh Hewitt, in fact it is the same one used for “Partisan Hack”.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:21 pmTalking about her impersonation of Sarah Palin on “Saturday Night Live” Tina Fey said she hoped the role was a limited run.
“I want to be done playing this lady November 5th,” she said.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:23 pmI have to admit that I have been tuning in for the first segment of the view lately. They have started holding lizbeth’s feet to the fire finally and have been getting the truth out about many issues.
The Ayres thing was laid out perfectly this morning and liz just tried to move the goalposts but the others were having none of that. I was encouraged.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:23 pmHewitt’s book ‘How Sarah Palin Won the Election…and Saved Amerca’ bites the dust.
That’s a shame. But I hear the market for fantasy fiction is pretty crowded. Tough to break into.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:23 pmShoeless, excellent comment, you are absolutely right on with this.I only hope this happens, the good thing is that the smear campaign is not working well and they have hit the bottom or are going to soon and they have no ammo left except this economic mess we are in and they haven`t a clue on what to do.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:25 pmThis is the guy who claimed… ***clearing of the throat*** … that, since he worked in NYC near the World Trade Center site, he was as much on the “front lines in the teh War on Terror” as those, oh… say, actually getting shot at… in places like… Afghanistan, and Iraq… don’t laugh… he may have a point there… no… really…
Don’t make me come down there… get serious, folks… we’re talk Hugh Hewitt here… a man of true gravitas…

Mebbe the book will have a centerfold in it, Ralfie… unfortunately, fer the way t’ings are goin’ fer the GOOP these days, the publisher will prolly screw up an’ put Hugh’s pix in there…
October 9th, 2008 at 1:28 pmHere’s the book I want to read: “How Failin’ Palin Lost the Election and Saved America from McNumbNuts and the Keystone Kops”.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:29 pmHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!
DEWEY WINS!!!!!
Jebus. Those idiots never learn.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:29 pmThey can put it on the shelf right next to:
“How Dubya Bush Caught Bin Laden”
and
“How John McCain Brought Honesty To Campaigning”
and
“How Invading Iraq Saved Us From Terrorism”
and
“How Dick Cheney’s Smile Lights Up a Room”
October 9th, 2008 at 1:30 pmHaha! I’ve been thinking of making a game where Sarah flies over Alaska like superman defending against evil Putin army.
But I think people might take it wrong, not see the sarcasm.
God this guy is dumb. People (mostly hetro men) seem to have this blindness for how idiotic she is. Or they don’t care. It’s weird.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:30 pmlol, a Palin version of Missile Command
October 9th, 2008 at 1:31 pmWhen Media Mob reached Mr. Yates by phone on Monday, he’d already given up on trying to sell the book.
__________
Well dang it all… there must be some sort of nefarious librul plot afoot, to destroy the market for this book! What other explanation makes sense?
Time to put on our tinfoil hats, people… apparently, there’s a similar plot under way to destroy the box office for “An American Carol”… I mean, why else would the film be doing so poorly?
It’s not selling because the movie isn’t funny, you say? Okay… you may have a point there. But just to be on the safe side, mebbe we better all leave those tinfoil hats on for a while.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:33 pmHey, hey, everybody! Let’s not all jump on Hugh for this! He saw a potential profit opportunity and he seized it.
If he were REALLY dumb, he’d go through with writing the book.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:34 pmWas it gonna have big writin’ and lotsa pitchers?
October 9th, 2008 at 1:35 pmThrough fraud, McCain/Palin may just be elected.
NYT:

It is such a tragedy when satire goes bad.

I bet it takes quite a long hot shower for Ms. Fey to scrub off the “Palin” after each SNL appearence. Tina Fey has done this Country a great service and should receive the Medal of Freedom from President Obama for her sacrifice.

He should finish the book and continue to seek publication. After November 4th the Republicans will need SOMETHING to cling to. Why burst their well crafted bubble? Hell, why even tell McStain that he lost on November 5th? Just paint one of the McMansions white and let him think that he is the new dictator of the US.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:40 pmHewitt’s book ‘How Sarah Palin Won the Election…and Saved Amerca’.

Now their rippin mccan’ts mortgage plan.
I saw when they had mcan’t on and ripped him a new one it was good.
We’ve all noticed how few trolls we’ve had lately. I have been noticing a change in the republicans I know in every day life. They suddenly don’t want to talk about it anymore. Don’t think for a minute that I let that fly.

October 9th, 2008 at 1:45 pmConsidering Scarah’s reading habits, it should’ve at least been a picture book – lots of bright colors, shiny bits, and such – heck, Amazon could’ve marketed it as a set with “My Pet Goat.”
October 9th, 2008 at 1:45 pmI would ordinarily be the last person in the world to watch the view but as you stated earlier, they seem to be the only ones actually talking about what is going on.
I would almost feel sorry for liz if she hadn’t been such a self-rigthous know it all for so long without anyone really calling her on her outright lies……finally they are and it is really good to see.

Certain books she dislikes/finds objectionable ?

Alaskan wolves ?
October 9th, 2008 at 1:50 pmThe cover of the book was going to have a 10,000 foot tall Sarah Palin seeing the coast of Russia from Alaska.

Nice! A little preacher should come out and do a laying on of hands to restore health. The early level should just be shooting wolves and moose… Bonus points for taking out liberal bastions of propaganda (libraries) and the Final Boss should be Putin’s head with 3? eyes made of the letters KGB.
I would totally play this game!
October 9th, 2008 at 2:06 pmHailin’ Palin: Moose-stepping with the Brown Skirts…
October 9th, 2008 at 2:06 pmOTOH, assuming that McSame/Pain loose the election, the book may become a collector’s item.
October 9th, 2008 at 2:10 pm666lattes DAMN that’s brilliant!!
Unfortunately, I’m a programmer not an artist. I was at the very extent of my artistic ability just with trees/snow, Sarah, and some planes.
Any artists and other programmers around want to collaborate?
October 9th, 2008 at 2:15 pmHow presumptuous. But, for idiots like Hugh Hewitt, it’s all about the money. Who cares about the truth, as long as fools queue up to line their pockets?
Well, there’s always the treatment he could write for film: a fictional account wherein Mighty Moose flies in to save the day!
November 4, 2008 cannot come soon enough. And then, it should once again be, “I’ll take OBSCURE ALASKANS for $ 200.00, Alex…”

:-P
October 9th, 2008 at 2:55 pmOooh maybe a goal of the game is to construct the bridge to nowhere, where the final showdown takes place!
I’m going to start an IRC channel if anyone wants to jump in. I’ll stick around at least for a few days to see if anyone turns up. Artists, developers needed. Obviously want to move very fast, 1 to 1.5 week turnaround, max. Therefore, it needs to be somewhat simple. If anyone knows how to use a high level framework like valvesdk or something, that would be super useful. If not, we should stick to 2d, or 2d with ray trace rendered 3d sprites.
I’ll take it as far as I can on my own, but help would really be appreciated!

October 9th, 2008 at 4:07 pmDon’t know Hugh Hewitt but I am amazed that anyone would write seriously about the flash in the pan Palin. What kind of political instincts allow for a future view of this pernicious lady?
