Keating to McCain in 1986: ‘I’m yours til death do us part.’
The Washington Times reports that in 1986, John McCain wrote a note on House stationery to Charles Keating, chairman of a failed savings and loan association who went to prison in the late 1980s. In the letter, McCain apologized for listing Keating as part of his Senate campaign finance committee. Keating wrote in response: “You can call me anything, write anything or do anything. I’m yours till death do us part“:
McCain has acknowledged his friendship with Keating, who helped funnel campaign contributions to McCain in the 80s. After Keating turned to McCain to try to stave off government intervention during the scandal, the Senate Ethics Committee admonished him for seemingly intervening with federal regulators on behalf of Keating.

Ummm , there seems to be a problem here :
McCain has acknowledged extensive ties to Keating, who through fundraisers helped funnel $166,000 in campaign contributions to McCain for his 1982 and 1984 House races and his 1986 Senate race. McCain and his family also vacationed with the Keatings, and later had to reimburse Keating for the flights, acknowledging he violated House rules by not disclosing them.
Based upon the paragraph above , how could McDepends NOT list Keating ?
What a complete phony Johnny Dipshit is .........He's actually admitting to trying to illegally cover-up information ; and that after he had already acknowledged he violated House rules earlier.

a) why should McCain have to apologize to Keating for listing him as a member of his Senate Finance Committee?
If it wasn't true it was a lie and therefore McCain was a liar, and if it was true then it was true and no apologies necessary for telling the truth.
b) I suppose I shouldn't be shocked by the apparent expression of a "love that dare not speak it's name"---Republicans after all-- but really! I mean really!!! Was Keating drunk?

I was wondering the same thing. The first thing that came to mind is that this is a CYA letter, written by McCain for the benefit of outside eyes who might want to investigate his ties to Keating.
