"liberal traitor said: Clearly, the Connecticutt State Supreme Court is nothing but a bunch of “commie faggots”.

Wow, most of them (the majority) were appointed by Republican governors. Only 3 (Palmer, Vertefeuille and Norcott) were appointed by a Democrat.

"commie faggots", indeed!

YOU are an idiot. Fortunatly we dont allow IDIOTS to define the law OR constitution OR morality for us. Marriage has NOT always been between a man and a woman that is one of the many delusional fantasies that you have made up in your head and like regurgitate like the fool hiveminder you are. WE are not bound by your delusions not those of us on this board nor our society in general. I urge you to get over yourself. There is NO QUESTION WHATSOEVER that the courts have every RIGHT to decide the legal definition of marriage. Churches can continue to keep their own definitions. What is NEVER going to happen is that YOU are going to define for the courts what is legal in this country. You are a moron a bigot and severely brainwashed the wingnut trifecta

Marriage is and will continue to be a relationship between a man and a woman. Marriage carries, and will continue to carry, the divine imprint of the Creator who, as Jesus said, intended that a man and a woman would be “one flesh.” This “one flesh,” which is marriage, is a relationship that can only be achieved between a man and a woman.

There is not a court in the world that has the power to change what constitutes a marriage.

Further, the U.S. Constitution was not written to condone immorality.

Ooops! There goes heterosexual marriage and Western Civilization!
____________________________________________________________

How many people here are in a heterosexual marriage? Show of hands?

How many of you believe your marriage will dissolve as a result of the Connecticut decision or if Proposition 8 fails in California? Or maybe more states have to legalize gay marriage before significant erosion occurs in your own? What's the magic number of states to greenlight gay marriage before it's splitsville for you and your spouse?

"Somehow, someway, I believe that McCain and Palin will win."
-- Then you have more faith than even the GOP party leadership. Even they are saying McCain is a long-shot at this point.

"She is save and sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost."
-- You claim you are, too. Does this qualify you to be Vice-President? Actually, all four of the top candidates on both major tickets claim to be Christians. What makes Palin more special than the other three in that department?

"We need are morals and values changed in this nation."
-- I couldn't agree with you more. The current values held by our leadership -- make the rich richer, throw the poor by the wayside, wage war whenever and wherever possible, trample on the U.S. Constitution, lie to the people, and grab as much money for cronies as possible -- are bankrupting us financially and morally. We need to restore our moral standing in the world, and we need to do it now.

"Look at our economy. It is completely horrible because the Democratic congress didn’t create provisions to regulate the market."
-- You've GOT to be kidding. Even if Congress had focused on regulating the market as their number one issue, they wouldn't have gotten far with the obstructionist GOP. And even if they had, Dubya would have vetoed anything that even SMELLED like it might end the gravy train for the greedheads. In the past eight years, the ONLY power (real OR perceived) the Democrats have had is a technical majority in both houses of Congress (not a functional one). Yet that doesn't stop you from pointing your finger at the Democrats for all our ills. Nice try, but the ownership of the collapse of this house of cards is on your side.

"Democrats received a large sum of funding from financial and mortgage firms. CROOKED!!!"
-- They probably did. Financial and mortgage firms (like many other industries affected by regulation or the lack thereof) give generously to both parties. I would still be willing to bet the GOP got significantly more. But hey -- if you have some actual data proving that the Democrats got money and the GOP didn't, by all mean -- provide it.

"I do not believe their voice reflects the majority of the people of Connecticut."

WHO CARES? Why on earth does that matter? This issue is not the same as a SPLOST proposal or who will serve as governor. This issue is about BASIC HUMAN AND CIVIL RIGHTS. Such rights CANNOT be put up to the popular vote. Does anyone really think that blacks would have been given the right to vote if white people got to decide on it in an election?

Screw the majority. They aren't going to be affected by same-sex marriage. No one is going to force anyone to marry someone of their own gender. The theocrats and social fascists will go insane over this, screaming how "unfair" it is that people didn't get to vote on it.

Congratulations to the gay and lesbian citizens of CT who will now have their marriages recognized by the state government.

Three states down.... 47 more to go!

Arizona allowed Cindy to marry TRex, that trumps your man on beast fears Bro Daryll.

McFrothing is praying that Jesus will get involved in this election in the form of some demented supporter (sorry for the redundancy) who will climb a tower and do the Lord's work.

The Tanya Harding gambit, it's all they have.

This is fantastic. My heart soars every time I read about the good loving couples who will now be able to marry. This is a great day for them, a great day for their children, a great day for Connecticut, and a great day for America!

I hope that next time Biden and Obama are asked whether they support the basic civil rights of gay people their answer will have evolved from the soft bigotry they peddle now. I hold no hope for Palin or McCain.

Somehow, someway, I believe that McCain and Palin will win

Good luck with that. Blind faith is nothing to be proud of Daryll.

She is save and sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost

Yep, which is why she's following the teachings of Christ and allowing people to call Obama a terrorist at her rallies, allowing people to chant "kill him" about ANYONE at her rallies, showing ZERO compassion after Biden's response to her callous insinuation that he doesn't understand hardship and he had to remind her he lost his wife and daughter, and very nearly both his sons.

We need are morals and values changed in this nation

I believe you meant to say "OUR" morals and values changed, and I couldn't agree more. We need to stop bombing the world into oblivion, stop discriminating against our fellow citizens due to sexual orientation, race, and creed, stop giving untold sums of money to the super rich while the poor and middle class twist in the wind (As a supposed Christian you should agree with me on this, Jesus was pretty socialist), provide health care to all, stop imprisoning and torturing innocent people, stop invading countries for profit...etc etc etc. Glad we agree.

Look at our economy. It is completely horrible because the REPUBLICAN congress and White House removed provisions to regulate the market.

There fixed that for you.

Good luck with that. Blind faith is nothing to be proud of Daryll.

She is save and sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost

Yep, which is why she’s following the teachings of Christ and allowing people to call Obama a terrorist at her rallies, allowing people to chant “kill him” about ANYONE at her rallies, showing ZERO compassion after Biden’s response to her callous insinuation that he doesn’t understand hardship and he had to remind her he lost his wife and daughter, and very nearly both his sons.

Good.

And they don't have time for a dumb ballot initiative. There are six "Yes on 9" signs in my SoCal neighborhood this morning. I am having to restrain myself from spray painting "haters" across them.

So I went and bought a bunch of "No on 8" bumper stickers at
http://www.noonprop8store.com/eshop

Handing them out to my friends when I get them...

Btw - that’s pretty funny Darryl blaming the Dems for the financial crisis because they didn’t regulate more. Wow.

Somehow, someway, I believe that McCain and Palin will win. She is save and sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost. We need are morals and values changed in this nation. Look at our economy. It is completely horrible because the Democratic congress didn’t create provisions to regulate the market. Democrats received a large sum of funding from financial and mortgage firms. CROOKED!!!
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

YOU are a liar and a fool. First there is no reason in the world to believe that Palin is any more Christian or any more saved than Obama. Second it is the GOP mania for deregulation that got us into this mess. While there may be enough blame to go around it isnt equal and blaming it on Democrats exclusivly is both lying AND being ignorant. Both of which you do quite often. You are an astonishingly brainwashed and ignorant moron

Great news for the gay couples I know! They all married in 'civil unions' but this is better of course.

I heard a rumor awhile back that McCain was considering Jodi Rell for his VP and I thought, "Oh no!" - reason being that he would have had a good shot with her, well more of a shot anyway.

Jodi Rell is well thought of in Connecticut even though she's a Republican. I know a lot of people who voted Democratic across the board in the last election, except that they voted for her. She's a good administrator, can appeal to both sides and has been a steadying force in Connecticut.

I guess Connecticut might as well let man marry beast.

Why do you want to marry a beast?

Because he doesn’t believe in sex before marriage.

NOW I finally understand why all these backwoods rednecks are so afraid of legalized gay marriage. They really believe it will lead to a culture in which they are pressured to marry the object of their sexual desires, and she can't say anything but 'moo' or 'baa'.
