If these liberties aren’t a gift from God, from where do they originate and what are we, U.S. Citizens, doing to insure these liberties are passed to our posterity?

I must say that as a Christian, I found your invocation in Davenport today offensive.

What did you mean, when you said, “There are plenty of people around the world who are praying to their god, be they Hindu, Buddah, or Allah, that his opponent wins. I pray that you step forward and honor your own name.”?

It seems to imply that you think God is, or should be, on the side of Mr. McCain, while only people of other religions think otherwise. Your words make it sound as if the non-Christian world is praying to their god for Mr. Obama to win, against God’s wishes.

Your words not only insult millions of devout and faithful Christians, including Mr. Obama and myself, but they insult Christianity as a whole. They make God seem like some petty arbiter of your personal wishes. Your appeals to God’s “reputation” (?) , and the honor of His name, clearly imply that you believe that these are questions upon which He would need your advice.

The concept that God would need your urging to protect His own honor and reputation by bestowing victory upon your chosen political candidate borders on sacrilege. Perhaps I have misinterpreted your words, but those are the strong impressions they convey, even upon serious reflection. I without doubt would be ashamed to be associated with any sect of Christianity that would impel me to endorse such words.

I don’t think that’s it. I have noticed a lack of trolls at other sites like the Huffington Post. I think that the trolls are just really tired and discouraged. The fun has gone out of it. And, then, they aren’t getting paid any longer so why should they waste their time?

I’m wondering when Obama will announce his take for September. It must be awesome if he is buying up 30 minute blocks of time on many stations.
