In other news G. Gordon Liddy is said to have made another donation to John McCain’s campaign. When asked why Liddy stated “I want to be John McCain’s go to guy for B&E’s and wiretaps. Maybe I can help bring down another Republican President!”

McCain had this to say about Liddy, “…congratulations on your continued success and adherence to the principles and philosophies that keep our nation great.”

Meanwhile the McCain campaign vehemently denies John McCain is speaking for the campaign. And with regards to G. Gordon Liddy one campaign staffer was overheard saying “you can’t account for the odd nut in the crowd.”

The Department of Corrections refused to make a comment saying “We cannot discuss former inmates of our wonderful system.”

This morning I saw journalists and photographers surrounding Joe the plumber’s house waiting to hear from him as if he is a celebrity.

I suspect that Joe will regret all this celebrity as the media and both sides of the political arena slice him and dice him to find whatever they can.

So far, they have allegedly found:

1. His relation to Charles Keating.
2. His not being a registered voter.
3. At the moment, his income falls far short of the $250,000 threshold.

I predict there will much digging into this business he wishes to buy, including its balance sheet.

The up side is that the business Joe works for (and hopes to buy) will get a lot of free advertising. The down side is that Joe won’t get any peace until his fifteen minutes are up.

How ABOUT that Tim Mahoney? What’s your point?

If the allegations concerning Tim Mahoney are true, he’s a real skunk and deserves what’s coming to him. IF he survives his re-election (a big IF, considering his press lately), he will most likely experience these allegations being thoroughly investigated, and if he violated congressional ethics rules and/or misused taxpayer funds, he will be censured or worse. He may be shamed into resigning.

And you may have noticed that nobody here is defending him.

However, this will only affect Mahoney himself and the district he represents. It will not affect Obama or the Democratic Party.
