If you watch Colin Powell’s endorsement, you will see it consists of him explaining in great length why he personally will be voting for Obama.

You are saying Obama has no decency, because he will not decline the vote of Colin Powell?

Does he even get that choice?

Colin Powell was steamrolled by Cheney and Rumsfeld. He was stuck between a rock and a hard place. He’s was NOT the Commander In Chief. Blaming Powell for his UN presentation would be like blaming Clinton for bombing an aspirin factory. He trusted George Tenet and the intelligence that Tenet presented to him.

I’m ecstatic that General Powell has endorsed Senator Obama!

I believe that Powell’s involvement in the Iraq War lie will never be lived down, and never should be. You lie down with vipers, expect to be bitten.

That said, this was a very clear and powerful endorsement of Obama and even more so an indictment of McCain and the GOP. There was no mincing of words and I especially liked his defense of the Muslim-American soldier, for too long Muslim/Islam have equalled terrorism and that is ridiculous and Un-American.

Its strange how Powell still enjoys this much respect in the mainstream considering his integral part in the Bush administrations lies and deceit before the Iraq war. His UN-speech was a complete disgrace

With that said I still welcome his endorsement and his criticism of McCains judgement, picking Sarah Palin and running this outrageous sleaze campaign. Hopefully it will convince independents and still undecideds not to vote for McCain

Big whoop Powell. First, he waits till the last two weeks of the election. Second, he’s a war criminial that should be in chains with the rest of the Bush cabal. Sorry Powell, anything positive you do from now till the time you die will never be redemption for sending over 4,000 Americans to die for the lies of your masters. Not to mention the millions of Iraqi lives affected by the war you sold to the world.

Whats been fun to watch is the wingnut reaction to this today. Its ranged from outrage to “so what?”. If Powell had endorsed McNumbNuts they’d have all over it like a cheap suit lauding his gravitas and statemanship and loyalty.

Powell played a large part in the Bush/Cheney illegal invasion of Iraq. Powelll went so far to openly Lie to the United Nations and the American people for Bush. Bush/Cheney knew no one would believe them so Powell put his reputatiion on the line to make sure people would believe the lie. Yes after they didn’t need Powell anymore they kicked him out. But again he lied to the American people and said he knew nothing about the fake information, only to come back later and apologize again for lying and said he knew but could do nothing. Powell along with the rest of the Bush Administration are solely responsible for the death of thousands of soldiers.

Obama says he wants and honest Administration let’s see if he keeps his word. Powell nor Rice should be in Govenment. Powell needs a job so he will suck up to Obama even use the race card if necessary so will Connie Rice. Both Powell and Rice and the rest of the Bush Administration should be charged with War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity. As for Powell talking about a died soldier well he allowed that soldier and thousands of others to lie based on the lies he told. Powell had his chance to show what he was made and what he could do he followed Bush/Cheney knowing they were wrong and our troops deserve a much better leader then Powell.
