McCain falsely claims to have ‘repudiated every statement by any fringe person’ in his party.

This morning on Fox News Sunday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) defended his use of robocalls attempting to link Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) to former radical William Ayers. McCain said his robocalls are “legitimate and truthful,” claiming that he has “repudiated every statement made by any fringe person in the Republican party” that portrays Obama inaccurately. Watch it:

Just last week, however, McCain refused to repudiate comments made by the chairman of the Virginia Republican Party, Jeff Frederick, who claimed “both Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden have friends that have bombed the pentagon.” After being read Frederick’s statement in an interview, McCain said he needed to know the “context of his remarks.”

McCain has gone so far off the rez that EVERY statement is a LIE or “suspect”. . . dishonored the great military tradition of his Father and Grandfather . . . . that last cancer operation on his face must cut off blood supply to the critical thinking portion of his cortex . . . .

  8. Wayne says:

McCain has the same people on his staff that were behind Bush smearing him in 2000.
McCain is playing dirty, knows he is playing dirty and has lost any shred of honor he may have had at some time in his past.

Lying to the American people worked in 200 and 2004 ( along with diabold and other election fraud ), but it looks like most Americans have finally awakened from the stupor of the neocon flavored koolaide.

    The Republican brand is toxic.

  9. Above the Clouds says:

Sen. McCain, ‘Why on earth did you give that microphone to the crazy lady in Lakeville, MN?”

  10. veteran says:

Who does he think he is shitting?

What a dishonorable man. He is a disgrace to the officer corps of the US military, to which I am a proud member.

And a good reason for his relative incoherence and confusion about what he’s saying from one day to the next is called metastasis of Invasive Melanoma to the brain.

I think that is more about his not remembering which lie he told last rather than cancer. And he has 26 years of the bald faced lies of a career Republican Crook Senator to remember.

Liars always get caught eventually, because they usually confuse themselves enough they cannot remember the last lie they told on a given subject.

I like the way McCain is doubling down into his rabbit hole.

He has not been a friend to veterans the whole time he has been in office. He has been a dishonorable man his whole senate career.

And I wasn’t an officer when I served, I worked for a living LOL =)

I wonder what it is like when reality is one way and in your own mind you interpret everything in exactly the opposite way?

  15. gus smith says:

That’s the problem! McCain uses the word ‘repudiates’ alot; he just doesn’t know what it means.

  16. enough says:

Did I blink. Has he repudiated his running mate? Has he repudiated his own flicking tongue?

  17. marlow says:

Just like Bush, McCaine has daddy issues, and just like Bush, his behavior has dropped him so far below the line of achievement he’ll never come close. Really amazing to watch, republicans wrapped up in psychopathology.

  18. sbobker says:

I think Sarah might have told him he meaning of repudiate :). I think he justifies his inane and obviously untrue comment based on how he defines fringe. When the whole effing party is on the fringe, then by definition there truly is no fringe, thus no fringe person ever said anything. Indeed, I think it can be proven in that manner that none of the alleged statements was ever made. That thesis I think has been amply proven by the Secret Service (it’s all secret. you don’t need to know anything).

  20. Hardy Haberman says:

The act that McCain can lie so easily should be reason enough for him to lose the election. We have had enough of a lying sack of poop as a president and we don’t need another.

  21. pete says:

When is he going to “repudiate” the hateful statements of: Bible Spice, Psycho Shelly (Bachmann), Lush Rimjob, virtually everyone at FAUX, and that dirty liar “Joe” the non-rich non-plumber?

BTW. Psycho Shelly’s opponent has received nearly $500,000!!! dollars in contributions in 24 hours when he’s been averaging $63,000 a week. Plus, her Republican primary opponent has launched a write-in campaign for Reps who are disgusted by her hateful, anti-American screeching.

  22. NutWrench says:

After being read Frederick’s statement in an interview, McCain said he needed to know the “context of his remarks.”

Well, I’m sure they meant “bombed the pentagon” in only the nicest possible sense of the phrase. Like, with flowers or puppies or something.

  23. kasinca says:

John McSame is looking more and more like someone who is suffering from the initial stages of Alzheimer’s. The guy is a liar and an idiot.

  24. dasm says:

Wow, McCain admits much of his audience lies in the realm of a “fringe person”. Why are Republican nominees so disrespectful of their own voters?

  25. Buckie Boy says:

‘repudiated every statement by any fringe person’

Not enough time this year to do that McUnstable, is there?

  26. Fan of Man says:

mccain, you are such a prick. i wouldnt spit on that piece of crap if he was on fire.

  27. katy says:

he has “repudiated every statement made by any fringe person in the Republican party” that portrays Obama inaccurately.

but the ROBO CALLS are inaccurate!

    oh… robo calls not person.

    now i get it…

  28. One Thousand Billion says:

To McCain’s way of thinking there’s a difference between admonishing a supporter holding a mic with a television camera trained on her, and then not even bothering looking up from the podium when an asshat in the crowd yells “Kill him!”

I’d like to think McCain and Palin aren’t secretly happy when the peanut gallery yells shit like that, but I suppose I’m not so deluded.

  29. 00mpp00 says:

These wackos are in his own campaign let alone the party. He’d have to quit to make amends for the crazy stuff he and Palin and their goons have said.

What about his brother Joe calling Northern Virginia “communist country”? What about his senior adviser Nancy Pfotenhauer claiming North Virginia isnt part of the “real Virginia”?

What about his own false statements, his lying running mate, his misleading fearmongering ads and robocalls?

  32. scootmandubious says:

McCain and Palin lie about everything.

How often has McCain said that Senator Obama did not repudiate the statements of Rep. Lewis, when the Obama campaign immediately made a statement that deplored the connection to George Wallace and the bombings. That wasn’t enough for McCain, who wanted Lewis savaged personally for his comments, which Obama correctly would not do.

John McCain has zero credibility, and his mavericky partner can’t even tell the truth about being found guilty of ethics violations.

Can you imagine what would have happened had Senators Obama or Biden denied the truth about what a commission report found, and claimed they had been exonerated of something they were clearly found to be guilty of? Would it have ended with a single news cycle?

By the way, it’s about time that the media has slowly begun to focus on the Palin’s association with the Alaskan Independence Party.

For those who would like to use it for a resource, I have an article up that includes Sarah Palin’s video welcome to the 2008 AIP convention.

  33. lippy says:

Why is it the MSM never mentions the fact that John MCCain would be the OLDEST president ever elected?

  34. ralph the wonder llama says:

Has Sarah Palin yet identified the “anti-America” parts of America?

Oh, that’s right — she won’t submit to questions from real journalists.

… Any chance someone from Faux News will ask her about it?

  36. MapleStreet says:

Ask McChurian candidate what he thought about the fairness of robocalls implying that he had a black baby out of wedlock a few years ago in SC.

Guess his ethics only apply to what is done to him and not what he does.

  37. Doug1859 says:

Not true. How about Frederick from Virginia? John, your lies just keep getting thicker and deeper. When are you going to explain your “association” with John K. Singlaub, the uber-right nut job General who was guilty of participation in the Iran-Contra scandel, and the U.S. Council for World Freedom?

  38. blue state bob says:

Maybe in his Alzheimer’s induced haze, he thinks this is true. Or he’s a lying sack of poo. Either way, not someone who should be president

  39. WaltTheMan says:

McCain exhibits signs of Dementia, Palin, signs of Nomentia. Scarcely the best pair to occupy the top two offices in the land.

  40. the Lone Voice of Reason says:

Must be really studying hard under Rove and “repeat the lie often enough and everybody will think it’s true” lesson set.

Had a nice chat with alcyone late last night. Not too bad a troll. Did get it to admit that McBlinky will not win, but alcyone still has issues with Obama experience and national security. I think I want to play nice with this one and try to change it’s mind because it really does seem to have one. And don’t bite me for this, after all, my log-in is the Voice of Reason.

  41. Anonymouse says:

I figure there’s a fifty-fifty chance that either McCain is knowingly lying through his teeth in a blind effort to win an election based on anything but his own ideas, or he’s become so insulated from reality that he honestly is not aware of what happens outside of the narrow information feed his handlers provide him.

I’m not sure which is the more charitable interpretation.

  42. christopher wiwi says:

I say let him keep digging his hole even deeper………

Then maybe he can bury all of the righties come Nov.5th when the lefties take charge and fix the righties mess of the last eight years.

  43. the Lone Voice of Reason says:

I think it’s because Cindy is giving him her pills again :)

  44. the Lone Voice of Reason says:

Or his “senior moments” are getting a lot closer together.

  45. slacker_george says:

After this election, McCain is going to have the fringe wing of the Republican party named after him. Even though he’s flipped on some of his personally held beliefs to become more palatable to the mainstream Republicans, he will be derided as having strayed from the conservative base and there will be a call to return the party to the Palin-led non-fringe.

  46. Chocolate Jesus says:

    >but the ROBO CALLS are inaccurate!

Its ok, I expect Robocop to annouce his endorsement of Obama any day now..

I’ve been pretty impressed by the Obama teams quick response to things that have gotten tossed at them..its almost as if..they are..thinking ahead..shocking..

  47. shoeless says:

Has he repudiated every statement by Sarah?

  48. misshusseinmolly says:

    An example of McCain “repudiation”:

Member of audience: “How do we beat the b!tch?”
    McCain: “Excellent question…”

  49. ThomasMc says:

    Now, that’s just silly.
    How can he repudiate himself?
