Let’s not forget, that the Times published an article in 2004 in which they admitted that its flawed reporting during the buildup to the Iraq campaign of the War on Terror helped promote the misleading belief that Iraq possessed large stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction.

While this “From the Editors” piece didn’t mention names, a large part of the incriminated articles had been written by Times reporter Judith Miller, who already started in 1998-02-26 to claim that “all of Iraq is one large storage facility” for weapons of mass destruction. One of Miller’s prime sources was Ahmed Chalabi, who was the interim oil minister of US occupied Iraq and is now head of the Iraqi services committee.

I was curious what direction Fox News would take after Obama wins the election. Would they pad their staff with liberal commentators and Democratic insiders so they could continue to be a propaganda outlet for the new administration? Instead, their moves make it clear that they intend to be the opposition news source. They seem to be collecting the worst of the administration apologists from other news agencies. For that, I suppose, we can thank them. It’s easier to ignore them all if they share the same channel.
