If any of you Republicans out there have the nerve to say “Real American” in earshot of me prepare to have your nose bloodied and several ribs broken. You’re asking for the ass kicking of a lifetime.

Oh, I have to call shenanigans on that one.

I am sure that some Republicans are decent, kind people – and I have a few friends who are that way – but the policies promoted by the GOP and the tactics used in every election can hardly be called “kind”.

The GOP tries to pass itself off as a populist party during election years, but once in power they return to being the party of big business. “Kind” people do not allow their political events to turn into a hate festival directed at the opposition party. “Kind” people do not stand by and say nothing when someone screams out that the opposition candidate is a “terrorist” or should be killed.

“Kind” people do not stand by while Karl Rove smears a little girl, using the color of her skin as a means of smearing a fellow Republican. “Kind” people do not cheat and lie and steal just to win an election.

“Kind” people have no home in the GOP. That’s why most of us kind, hard-working people are Democrats.

I’m a liberal Mr. Hayes, and I’m writing here to thank you for the utmost respect you’re giving the citizens of the US (little sarcasm going on there). I would also like to state that I’m sorry, but you must have the term “American” all mixed up. You see, we care about the constitution, civil liberties, and equality; things the Republican party has never really been in touch with.

Action that deprives or redirects the vote of even one citizen represents the most heinous crime imaginable in a democracy. Those who participated in these actions such as Ken Blackwell and Tim Griffin deserve jail time.

Karl Rove, Tom Delay, Newt Gingrich and others publicly advocate “a permanent republican majority”. Please understand what this means; it means loss of personal freedom and an atmosphere where group-think replaces rational thought. Lack of rational thought, along with nefarious/evil tactics of Cheney and the neocons, got us into the mess we are in. Instead of a “chicken in every pot” we now have a crony in every position, a microphone in every room, a tap on every phone and a lobbyist running every republican campaign.

Americans dodged a bullet in 2006 when we voted to renounce GOP and neocon fear mongering. November 4th represents another opportunity to retain our freedom by electing Barack Obama. Our choice is between a constitutional scholar with a track record of supporting those who are not in the very highest income bracket or, a “C” student proud of his lack of discipline – sound familiar?

I have come to realize that Democrats/liberals care about the things that should be the focus of well intentioned people – not so much for the other side. For those of you who don’t understand what I just said, Dems are better people the Repubs.
