You don’t suppose Powell is trolling for another seat on the Cabinet do you??????

The man lied.

To the World.

One of the biggest and most awful lies in the history of this country.
And he protected the lie for 5 or more years. And still supports the war that was based on his lie.

He watched and did nothing as the Bushies created an international gulag of torture and crime.
As a military leader he watched as the Bushies disemboweled the Geneva Convention rules on treatment of prisoners.
He watched and did nothing as the Bushies rewrote the Constitution of the Unites States of America, and the laws that protect Americans from governmental abuses of power.

He watched and participated in so much evil, in more destruction of the freedoms, and rights and rule of law that have strengthened protected this Nation for over 200 years and he did nothing.
He is a Bushie, he is a traitor, just as Chaneybush and the rest of that criminal cabal are.

Like Lieberman, like the County Clerk of Broward County Florida, he will become a Democrat just long enough to screw things up for them and then just like Lieberman and the county clerk, after the damage is done, switch back to being overtly Republican.

He sits on the Boards of multiple military suppliers. Can we believe that that would not influence his decisions????

When I was in Wichita Falls, and Austin, Texas there were at least three instances in which candidates ran as liberal, ecology minded candidates, won and then showed themselves to be just the opposite of what they had presented themselves to be.
Once elected, all three switched parties and ran again as Republicans.

Why did Powell wait so long into the election runup to make a decision.
He wouldn’t have been waiting to see who would win, would he?????

Both Obama and McCain have sufficient histories, that people inside the belt way should be expected to have known pretty much all they needed to, to make a decision at, or long before the Conventions.

Why did you wait till McCain tanked Colin?
The Palin debacle was clear weeks ago, the economic crisis was clear weeks ago. Why did you wait till now?

This is where the Powell endorsement really starts to do some good.
Not so much in the straight endorsement, but in the Repub reaction to it.
To a lot of folks on the right, Powell is still a hero. He won the First Gulf War. He was loyal. They would have voted for him for President.
And now he endorses Obama. And the Right turns on him and attacks him and calls him Al Sharpton.
They’ll be screaming like the bystanders hurling insults at the black kids going to school in Little Rock from now until election day.
And there will be an awful lot of people looking at the performance, moderate Republicans who are incensed at being called racist, who will look at wat’s going on now to General Powell and find themselves ashamed of their party.
They may not vote for Obama, but they may stay home.

Isn’t it amazing at how quickly the republican’ts turn on one of their own when they make the slightest variation from the standard party line (”You’re either with us, or against us.”)? It reminds me of the miners in Galaxy Quest attacking one of their own when he was injured. General Powell is an honorable man and I respect his opinions, even if he had endorsed McSame.

I think Limbaugh is drawing only from his own personal experience when he thinks that everyone makes decisions based only on skin color. I’ve always seen his (Limbaugh’s) political preferences as racist and anti-semantic.

For some reason I have the feeling that a great deal more Republicans will be voting for John McCain BECAUSE Barack Obama has darker colored skin than there will be Democrats voting for Barack Obama BECAUSE he has darker colored skin. Based on Mr. Limbaugh’s skewed reasoning, many prominent Americans who happen to have lighter colored skin can be judged to be racists BECAUSE they endorsed John McCain. Or is it only darker colored skinned Amercans who endorse Barack Obama that can be judged to be racists?
