So you have to prove your not a racist or your not homophobic through your associations, why? No one cares you love “non-white” people or gay people. It’s not about who you know, it’s about what you think. It wouldn’t even cross my mind to give an example of someone I know who is…. It doesn’t make your case.

LARSON: No, fascism is about celebrating the country. America has always been about the individual. And conservatives really are about the individual.

So when I see a vehicle with 25 American flags on it—they are not celebrating the country—they are celebrating the individual?!?

When someone gets attacked for not wearing a flagpin—the attacker is not celebrating the country—they are celebrating the individual?!?

Russia has not been communist since 1991. They have had an Al Capone style capitalism.

I think Larry King is doing a slow burn about John McCain promising that his VP pick would go on his show and the McCain himself bailed out on King. When someone close to the McCain campaign appears on his show he is going to get a little sharper questioning from King. About all I can say to this is that it’s about time.

Well, I suppose there’s enough mis-use of labels on both sides to go around. Labels such as Marxist, socialist, fascist, etc., are really just shorthand for what people are trying to get across concerning their dislike of a particular group or ideology.

Progressives are just as guilty as concervatives of falling back on easy to use labels. The truth is much more nuanced and realistically, the application of labels, while we all engage in it, is counterproductive.

I think it’s fair to say that these days the United States is a real amalgam of ideologies. For example, We do not have a pure free-market based economy, but it’s not socialist either. We enjoy unprecedented freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution, but we’ve also allowed the government to abridge these freedoms.

So, it seems there’s room on both sides to discuss all issues without demonizing the opposite camp.

Yes, Obama is socialist/Marxist, which most of you embrace anyway. If you are proud of the fact that you are Marxist and even more left than Obama – try China or Russia. I would say move to France, England, or Canada but as my good friends in those countries tell me, their governments are turning more conservative. So now call me racist, although my daughter-in-law and grandchildren are not caucasion and I adore them and I have friends and a nephew who are gay. I respect them and at least they have the intelligence to look at someone’s background, ethics, past record, and experience before voting. By the way, don’t you even know that the majority Dem’s with Pelosi at the helm, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Barney Frank are behind the financial crisis? A new idea! Research!
