Limbaugh And Giuliani Indirectly Blame 9/11 On President Clinton

rudyrush.jpgDiscussing Sen. Joe Biden’s (D-DE) recent comments that the world will “test the mettle” of Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) with an international crisis if he is elected, right-wing talker Rush Limbaugh and former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani indirectly blamed the terrorist attacks of 9/11 on former President Bill Clinton. “Every time Clinton was tested, he failed, and that’s why they tested Bush on 9/11,” said Limbaugh. Giuliani agreed:

RUSH: Mr. Giuliani, do you realize how many times Bill Clinton was tested by Al-Qaeda, starting in 1993 through Mogadishu to the USS Cole, and every time Clinton was tested, he failed, and that’s why they tested Bush on 9/11.

GIULIANI: Yeah.

Listen here:

The fact that Giuliani so easily agreed with Limbaugh is surprising, considering that in 2006 he said it was wrong to “cast blame on Clinton” for 9/11:

The idea of trying to cast blame on Clinton [for the 9/11 attacks] is just wrong for many, many reasons, not the least of which is I don’t think he deserves it.

Though Clinton has freely acknowledged that he “failed” to get Osama Bin Laden, his administration aggressively pursued terrorism.

For instance, a June 1995 Presidential Decision Directive issued by Clinton emphasized concern about terrorism “as a national security issue” for the first time, instead of just a matter of law enforcement. Clinton’s directive declared that the United States saw “terrorism as a potential threat to national security as well as a criminal act and will apply all appropriate means to combat it.” For the last three years of his presidency, Clinton “raised the issue of terrorism in virtually every important speech he gave.”

In his book, Against All Enemies, former counterterrorism czar Richard Clarke — who served under Reagan, both Bushs and Clinton — wrote that Clinton did more right than he did wrong in combating terrorism, such as declaring “a war on terror before the term became fashionable.” As Clarke notes, Clinton did not shy away from using force to respond to terrorists. For example, after the African embassy bombings, he ordered strikes on terrorist camps in Afghanistan and a chemical plant in Sudan.

Yeah Bush was tested. And he failed miserably.

  2. Oval12345678 aka James K. Sayre Says:

Osama bin Laden passed away of natural causes in early 2001. His bodied was buried in the mountains of eastern Afghanistan. See http://www.whatreallyhappened.com for details on all of the fake audio tapes and video tapes that were released after his death.

So what is the BSing John McCain going to do? Fly out to Afghanistan and dig up bin Laden's body? I double-dare you, Johnny...

  3. Stupid Git Says:

Few have profited from 9/11 both in their career and direct financial gain than Guiliani. Anything he says on the subject is corrupted by his own greed. I am a New Yorker and he is an embarrassment to me and many I know.

This group has charged Bill Clinton for not only 9/11, Bin Laden, Stock Market Crash, the failure of the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan, Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac and for all the failures of the pass 8 years. What's more surprising is American believe it. The World is watching as Americans see Bill Clinton out of office and Bush/Cheney in office as Americans don't think Bush/Cheney did anything wrong in 8 years. Look McCain said it was the Democrat Congress that has mess up, while forgetting we had a Republican President and Congress as Congress gave Bush a blank check for 6 years without asking one question.

I swear I do not know why you folks think this stuff won't/doesn't work with Middull Murka.

It's worked flawlessly since the 1980s, viz. the vids from the MilfPalin crowds. None of those folks are smart enough to have distilled those arguments from reading. They don't read. they CAN'T read, critically at least. They have talking points, not rhetorical strategies. They bark, and lick their genitals when they're nervous...

But they 'elected' Raygun twice, Poppie Bush once and the Dims Son (sorta) twice.

I will believe they have not prevailed again when the Obamas moves into the White House...

  21. KayInMaine Says:

Bill Clinton was responsible for the first 9 months of George Bush's tenure? Bah hahahahahahaha! Oh gawd that is so funny. As we've all witnessed over the last 8 years is the neocons blame everything George Bush did on Bill Clinton. So you know what that means! We get to blame the Barack Obama years on George Bush! Nice, huh? The neocons are going to crap themselves.

  22. KayInMaine Says:

George Bush & Dick Cheney were responsible for the anthrax attacks too. I wonder which one of them called the Pentagon to get the best anthrax known to man to be sent out to the liberals in the media to keep 9/11 looking like it was an attack against the liberals? Huh. I wonder. Something tells me it was Cheney who formed a Shadow Government the morning of 9/11 and used all avenues of our government as president of this government.

  30. Tired of being lied to Says:

And Bush failed BIG TIME when he was given the President's Daily Brief (PDB) for August 6, 2001 which contained a two-page section entitled "Bin Ladin Determined to Strike in US." In black-and-white it referred to possible hijacking attempts by Osama bin Laden disciples, and the existence of about 70 FBI investigations into alleged al-Qaeda cells operating within the United States.

The August 6 PDB was presented to Bush while he vacationed at his ranch in Crawford, Texas.

And Bush ignored all of it and went out and cleared brush, and for the next 36 days made no effort whatsoever to prevent the attack.

This was the failure Limbaugh and Giuliani should be talking about, especially since that failure lead to the death of over 2,000 of Giuliani's own NYC citizens, firefighters, and police officers.

You want to talk failure? Boys, it wasn't Clinton.

  31. pete Says:

At the risk of sounding like Flippy McSpin, no one is running against Bill Clinton. And, to the best of my knowledge, Sen Obama doesn't even like him much.

  32. pete Says:

    Let's see.

Did Clinton use the military to pursue a disastrous vendetta against criminals who have no country? Nope.

Did the Clinton administration oversee the biggest financial meltdown in, at least, 79 years? Nope.

    Did Clinton defy subpoenas? Nope.

Did Clinton invade THE WRONG EFFING COUNTRY? Nope.

I could go on for days.

"...the PNAC [Neocon] blueprint of September 2000 states that the process of transforming the US into "tomorrow's dominant force" is likely to be a long one in the absence of "some catastrophic and catalyzing event - like a new Pearl Harbor". The 9/11 attacks allowed the US to press the "go" button for a strategy in accordance with the PNAC agenda which it would otherwise have been politically impossible to implement."

"every time Clinton was tested he failed

If that was true there wouldn't have been a World Trade Center to attack on September 11. The planners of the first attack (which took place weeks, not months after Clinton took office) were caught, prosecuted under U.S. law without violation of any civil rights violations and sentenced to prison. I don't think Bush is doing quite so well with his "dead or alive" promise.

    PHEW!

Ah, you POOR TARD, this LINE OF S**T has been DEBUNKED as many times as your party as *ss raped you with your own permission. You wanted us to KILL a man that we didn't have any evidence as to whether he was GUILTY? Wow, and how exactly are you different from all of those suicide pilots that said that all Americans were guilty and deserved to die?

The people that we DID KNOW were guilty of the first WTC bombings were caught, sentenced and jailed - except of course for the GOP tied Egyptian born CIA agent that was protected by Mukasey and helped Bin Laden set up the training camps that trained the 911 bombers...

When GUILT and INCOMPETENCE are searched for, YOU and YOUR GOP BUDDIES always show up at ground zero as the guilty party. But don't let the FACTS undermine that DELUSION of yours, your TINY INSIGNIFICANT WORLD might come CRUMBLING DOWN!! ROTFL - YOU SAD LITTLE TARD! F*** off, will you, you little useless jerkoff?

  51. MusicLover Says:

Doesn't surprise me that Rudy has changed his tune and blames 9/11 on Clinton. It's "Republicans Gone Wild" time in America, folks. They're all saying wacko things, and they are freaking out as they realize that McCain - the candidate none of them wanted in the first place, is running the weakest presidential campaign in memory.

  52. upnorth Says:

    Reality Check!

1993 WTC bombing attack, Democrat Clinton was President. In March 1994, four men were convicted of carrying out the bombing and in November 1997, two more were convicted. No wars or military interventions started, no innocent civilians killed in the aprehension of these 6 terrorists.

2001 WTC bombing; Republican Bush is President. 1 arrest and conviction of a guy who did not take part in it. Ringleader still at large. 2 wars started to try and stop and apprehend terrorists. tens of thousands of innocent civilians killed in the pursuit and apprehension of 2 alleged terrorists. O convictions to date.

    So Clinton

6 arrests and convictions in 4 years, 0 wars, 0 dead civilians, 0 military dead.

    So Bush
3 arrests, 1 conviction in 7 years, 2 wars, untold thousands of dead civilains, 4000+ dead military

Guillianai drop by my place and we can wear dresses and make up and be discriminated against together! I would invite you Rush but you aren't even a passable guy let alone woman!

  53. marlow Says:

Hey Rudy, where's Limpy getting his *ss-flavored cigars these days?

  54. montanagf Says:

The endorsement of McCain by a terrorist makes sense. It echoes the statement of Binj Laden in one of his tapes,"We don't have to attack America again because america is destroying itself". we can thank Bush for the lack of a second attack...his premptive strike policy bogging us down in a war in 2 countries has drained us economically and weakened our homeland security. He is the first president to not only NOT increase taxes to fund a war, but also cut taxes during a war.resulting in increasing the deficit;increasing the debt, as funds for war needed to be borrowed...increasing monumental interest costs that tax payers have to pay [would have been cheaper to pay it up front with taxes, than to incur all the interest costs.McCain says he thinks Bush was right in his preemptive attack on Iraq...meaning they can expect more war that America can't afford impacting our way of life. Bush defined victory for the terrorists soon after 9/11 saying to us," don't let fear change our way of life. or the terrorists will win. That's what terrorists do...try to change our way of life.". So our economy is shot;our dollar has lost its value in the world market; we detain suspected
terrorist without due process; we torture detainees; we violate our rights to privacy by unwarrented wiretapping;we are no longer respected in the world as the model for human rights. I guess, according to Bush's definition, the terrorists have won.On the issue of premptive strikes and funding the war, McCain IS another Bush. SURE THEY WOULD LIKE HIM ELECTED....NO SURPRISE!
