Rep. Hayes denies denying that he said ‘liberals hate real Americans.’

hayescheney.jpg On Saturday, Rep. Robin Hayes (R-NC) said that “liberals hate real Americans that work, and accomplish, and achieve, and believe in God.” The comments first appeared in a report by the New York Observer. Hayes’s spokeswoman told Politico that the congressman “absolutely denies making the comments that appear in the Observer article.” However, Hayes backed down when audio of his comments surfaced:

I genuinely did not recall making the statement and, after reading it, there is no doubt that it came out completely the wrong way. I actually was trying to work to keep the crowd as respectful as possible, so this is definitely not what I intended.

But Hayes is back to his old denial ways. In a debate last night against his opponent Larry Kissell, Hayes denied that he ever denied his comments:

One more time, I did not deny what I said but the context in which it was presented to us, Larry, was that I hated liberals. That is absolutely false and for you to say that it is shows a clear misunderstanding and a lack of a desire to find out what went on.

UPDATE: Watch Hayes’s denial here:

There is a serious movement to rid the country of liberals. You can see it in full force at the North Carolina “Gathering of Eagles” website where the photo on the homepage proudly shows to folks with a sign reading “Moonbat Free Zone.”

    Scary times again in America.

Even when confronted with a videotape of their own publicly spoken words, they continue to deny they said what they said.
I have no more words to describe these SoBs.

I may be wrong but please hear me out. While watching Palin/McCain in Cincinnati something seemed to jump out at me. What I am about to relate strikes at the heart of the difference/stereotype of Republicans/Democrats.

Listen up, it seems to me, and I will be paying close attention from now on, that crowds at Palin/McCain rallies are mostly booing and crowds at Obama/Biden rallies are much more positive.

It is so funny to see all the republicans spend time

When are these morons going to GET that those big things in front of their faces when they talk to the press and at events do something called RECORDING. That is what you say is RECORDED? I wonder if the problem is they are just as stupid as the trolls that come here or if they arent talking to us at all? They know their base are the most ignorant carbon based lifeforms on the planet and are perfectly willing to understand that what they HEARD isnt really what was said because that is what they are told to believe. I think the really rightwingnuts just dont even TRY to make sense anymore becuase its too much trouble they wont convince those of us with an operative cerebral cortex and their hivemind base will believe ANYTHING they say no matter how stupid.

Ok, which do we believe, our ears or what he wants us to believe. The Republicans are in total meltdown mode. Do they really think that people don’t know they are lying? Do they think that lying will endear them to people.

I have to say that this election totally amazes me. It is without a doubt the nastiness election I have ever gone through and the lies are beyond belief.

I think it’s that third-grade double-don’t-dare type verbal jiu-jitsu, where if you say you really don’t, don’t mean it, you did really mean it, even though it doesn’t sound like that … or something. Or maybe he had his fingers crossed, so it don’t count.

Do they really think the public is all idiots?

    Cheers,

Was it mailed to you or just put in your mailbox. If it was just put into your mailbox, go down to your post office and file a complaint against them for illegal use of postal property. I do believe it is a crime for people to put things in your mailbox. Only the USPS is supposed to have access to your mail box.

Interesting. I received one, too. It must be coming off of DMV database or Voter Registration. It had my full name – first middle last. And I live in Virginia. Close to “communist” Northern Virginia! Shenadoah Valley here.

If one denies denying a statement, does that mean in actuality, one did indeed make the statement?

Geez, these double negatives always get me.

What we have here is a Republican backpeddling from a moment of honesty. If being a Republican means anything these days, it means the hatred of liberals. I’m sure the Right would attack us openly if they weren’t basically cowards.

I advise President Obama to declare martial law and arrest all Republicans.

Don’t you just feel sorry for the guy? He knows he’s been caught, and he doesn’t understand that in today’s world with the Internet, it’s not so easy to make things go away. He thinks it’s like the old days, when you just kept denying it because the local reporters would just go away after awhile. New technology is burning his behind this time.
