Fox News host Bill O’Reilly “has signed up for another tour of duty” on the network, where he will be paid more than $10 million a year for the next four years. But while O’Reilly is now set to continue his TV show into the future, he tells the Washington Post’s Howard Kurtz that “he will probably give up” his less successful radio show:
O’Reilly said that by early next year, he would probably give up his radio show, which is syndicated by Westwood One, but that he hopes to maintain a presence on radio — perhaps by recording his “talking points memo” commentaries. “The Radio Factor” has had mixed ratings and was recently dropped in the Washington market.
One medium down, one to go…
October 22nd, 2008 at 11:07 amIts amazing that anybody pays attention to this babbling, wardrobed, ego at ALL. It seems to me he even thinks the Iraq war is all about HIM.
October 22nd, 2008 at 11:08 amCant say I ever listened to it.
October 22nd, 2008 at 11:12 amO’Reilly has a radio show? Who knew?
October 22nd, 2008 at 11:12 amDo we dare hope that this is the beginning?
October 22nd, 2008 at 11:14 amO’Reilly is a ten million dollar prostitute.
October 22nd, 2008 at 11:14 amSo?
October 22nd, 2008 at 11:16 am$10 million/year? Can’t wait for those tax increases to be implemented!
PEACE
October 22nd, 2008 at 11:25 amO’Reilly is now set to continue his TV show into the future … “he will probably give up” his less successful radio show:
– - Too bad since O’Reilly has a face for radio.
October 22nd, 2008 at 11:29 amO’Reilly fudgeFACTORy
October 22nd, 2008 at 11:29 am$10 million a year to spew hate?
goddamn im in the wrong business.
October 22nd, 2008 at 11:35 amHow does someone get paid 10 million dollars and contribute nothing to the advancement of the human race?
October 22nd, 2008 at 11:36 amThis, of course, will make no difference to me, as I pay no attention to either of his shows.
However, the stations that currently carry the O’Reilly radio show will no doubt fill that slot with some other wingnut hothead to provide red meat to their audience.
October 22nd, 2008 at 11:36 amTime to confiscate Bill-O’s ill-gotten loot and apply it to those public programs he hates most.

October 22nd, 2008 at 11:54 amWith a solid Dem government these hacks and there shows will be relegated to the back burner of society where they belong.
October 22nd, 2008 at 11:58 amAnd I will pop a bottle of wine when he’s driven off all air-waves completely!!
I don’t approve of trophy hunting myself but I’d like to take down a Papa Bear.
October 22nd, 2008 at 12:06 pmOh come on Bildo, why stop with the radio program, just quit your pathetic FUX program too and sulk off into the sunset and enjoy all of your ill gotten riches gained by peddling hate and lies while assisting in dividing this Nation.
October 22nd, 2008 at 12:07 pmWake me up when his brain is donated to the National Institutes of Neuro-Stupidity.
October 22nd, 2008 at 12:10 pmWHO CARES!!!????????
October 22nd, 2008 at 12:25 pmThat was a clever bit of media management of O’Reilly’s part; making the contract renewal the headline rather than the tanking radio show.
And it’s a perfect example of his disingenuousness that he talks about renewing the multimillion contract like it was a selfless act. A tour of duty.
Memo to Fox: Bill would do it for free. He needs the camera. He needs the microphone. Hence that odd offer to record little talking points memos to “maintain a presence on the radio”. He can’t quit shouting into a mic cold turkey.
October 22nd, 2008 at 12:25 pmGolly-gee-whillikers. This would be so sad. Whatever would I listen to?
* Static.
* Farm reports.
* Staticky farm reports.
* Oldies.
* The wind.
* Staticky oldies through the wind.
That’s a relief! It won’t be hard to find something to listen to at all.
October 22nd, 2008 at 12:38 pmThe whole “hate” thing is SO last year…
October 22nd, 2008 at 12:40 pmBilldo’s radio show was dropped in the Fargo, ND market earlier this year.
Word is FOX or someone was actually buying ads to keep him afloat…he had virtually no National ratings or interest.
Remember when Billdo hosted ‘A Current Affair’? He was kind of the Mary Hart ‘goblin of gossip’. He didn’t have her legs, he didn’t have a face for TV, & he didn’t have a clue.
October 22nd, 2008 at 12:47 pmMuch the same as today, I might add…
Good riddance, goose stepping a**hole.
October 22nd, 2008 at 1:43 pmThink they’ll hire Sarah Palin? She can work there part time even if she remains governor. Clueless. Annoying voice. Ideologue. Willfully ignores facts. She’s perfect.
October 22nd, 2008 at 4:08 pmAmen……………………
