With just less than one week left until we find out who will be our Commander in Chief for the next four years, there are new controversies surrounding both the Democrat and Republican camps. News sources are excited to report that the Republican National Committee spent upwards of $150,000 on new clothes for Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin. While this story has been circulating, inspiring an avalanche of negative publicity, anti-Republican attacks, and the like, I am not rolling with this tide. As a matter of fact, considering that both Palin and Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama have spent large sums of money on clothing, it doesn’t make me disrespect or respect one more than the other. After all, we live in a society where looks, more than anything else, are the prime things that we judge people on. If you have one candidate in designer duds, but somebody else who looks as if they’ve gotten their entire wardrobe from the Wal-Mart clearance rack, the latter won’t be taken seriously. And, besides, look at the attention Sarah Palin is getting with her wardrobe. It doesn’t seem like such a bad political move. They spent a lot less on Sarah’s wardrobe than Obama spends on TV commercials. In the end, I really hope that the American people will judge the candidates on the issues, and vote for the candidate that supports Americans’ right to freedom for personal financial responsibility and the continued rights to no fax payday loans.

Well why wouldn’t Sarah have the RNC pay for her wardrobe, makeup and shoes??? she billed the state of Alaska (taxpayer money) for airfare and hotel rooms for her daughters, to events they weren’t invited to attend, on top of other things. She knows how to take tax payers for a ride. Note to Alaska, watch her every move very carefully, you can’t trust a pitbull, eventually they attack the hands that feed them.

I continue to be speechless at McCain’s differing opinions – with himself! What can we believe from this guy, today’s version, yesterday’s version or what will come tomorrow. Speechlessness aside, I can still type, so I will comment on wardrobe. McCain is very comfortable usually wearing the blue and white checked shirt which shows me that he thinks wardrobe is just what is in your closet. McCain must be incensed at Palin’s new wardrobe controversy. (Then that Repug fool makes it worse by stating an opinion that Obama should fly commercial to see his grandmother).

I would have thought Republicans, being the brilliant business minds they say they are, would have gotten designers or the stores themselves to donate the clothes for attribution, as actors and the British royal family do, and Princess Diana did.

I hope she at least billed Alaska for that time spent shopping. Apparently, the difference between this Hockey Mom and a pitbull is lipstick + 150k in clothes. HM= Her Majesty not Hockey Mom. From Seward’s Folly to McCain’s Folly. I’m glad to see all of that Executive experience is paying off. I hope she at least got the Union discount by flashing Todd’s card.

And the McCain talking heads today are complaining that Obama is taking his plane to Hawaii instead of flying commercial. Of course he’s taking some press and the Secret Service and his family and for all we know he is reimbursing expenses.

Here’s the reality — once you’re under Secret Service protection, it becomes a security nightmare to go on ANY kind of public transportation for any reason, whether it’s a commercial plane or a city bus. Obama has to take his Secret Service detail with him wherever he goes, and I’m sure he doesn’t have to pay for that security when he goes on a personal errand. Paying for the press? If any press are going along on what is a family matter, my guess is they are doing so on their own dime. There’s no logical reason for the Obama campaign to pay for publicity on this trip — that would be incredibly tacky. Any staffers tagging along are probably doing so to work on campaign business during time available. Which leaves the cost of the jet itself for a personal trip — something it would be reasonable for Obama to pay for out of his own pocket.

The McCain water carriers will b!tch and moan about anything, even when it’s clearly in vulgar taste — such as when an elderly woman may be dying.

The McCain Campaign IS getting Federal matching funds, so that $150,000 in new clothes practically came out of the packets of the American Taxpayers.
