You have lost your mind. Think maybe Matthew Sheppard ran into a little discrimination? How about the people fired from their jobs or evicted from their apartments for being gay. Think that MIGHT be considered discrimination? No homosexuals have NOT always had full democratic rights.

Microsoft has been a big supporter of legislation in Washington State to provide rights to domestic partners. They have felt a lot of pressure from right wing hate groups for their stance.

I want to thank Apple for doing this. it is easy for corporations to remain on the sidelines. As their statement says, this is a civil right issue, not a political issue. If we cannot all support the basic civil rights of others then we are in deep trouble.

Just imagine. A group of bigots trying to take away peoples right to get married. It makes me sick to my stomach just thinking that something like this can happen today.

Apple – Unix BSD (OSX) runs rings around Microsoft Vista hyped garbage, and has more more solid backing than Linux. Except for lagging behind a bit in Green disposal, Apple has always been a true Progressive company. Well, except for the idiotic use of AT&T in the iphone instead of T-Mobile.

This ridiculous proposition would never have been put on the ballot if it were not for the influx of great sums of money from the Mormons and other rightwing religious groups who inexplicably claim that marriage of same-sex couples somehow affects the sanctity of their own heterosexual marriages.

Of course Rick Warren would be opposed to it.
I am reading a book now that takes place in medieval times — the portrayal of customs and superstitions is not unlike the religious fundamentalism I see around me today.

It’s good to see companies takinga stand on this issue. The pro Prop. 8 has reallt been distorting what the proposition is about. There’s a guy on my block with a sign that says “Prop. 8 equals religious freedom.” Of course, if my religion says that it’s ok for gays to marry, then Prop. 8 is not reflecting my religious freedom. http://straighttalkonmccain.blogspot.com/

Being that Google and Apple are California Companies right here in my neck-o-the-woods. I don’t think you will see anything from Microsoft or its affiliates since they are mainly based in Washington. Yahoo has been pretty schizoid as of late, but being from here as well I hope they join with Google and Apple in taking the correct stand.
