also the tendency to somehow characterize me as “other” (ie someone who just started reading this website- or who disagrees with views expressed here) is inaccurate. I have read this site regularly for more than a year and I appreciate it greatly. More recently, as I have chosen to ad my voice to the comments, I have found other commenters to be fairly unacceptable of a range of thought. And I when I felt that I was personally attacked, and I called those attacks what I saw them as.

On the day this story was posted, it was the third or forth in a row and it struck me as small and petty. And the issues we are currently dealing with as a nation are big and important. I don’t mean to be argumentative, I just felt the focus was inappropriate and I said so. And I was disappointed with the response here.

I wonder how your “love it or leave it” sentiment expressed about my participation here is any different than those reflected in the comments of all these “real American” talking monkeys.

i know you didn’t ask me the question, but the comment shayne had left to you was pretty much what i’d been thinking about saying. and, as far as the difference between someone complaining about a website they clearly just spent time reading and people who point fingers at other americans and call them “anti-american” or imply there’s a real american and a fake america – WOW. i’d say there is a HUGE difference between people visiting a WEBSITE, and people who are all citizens of the same COUNTRY. website…country…yep, think about it…amazingly freaking huge difference.

Palin is a woman who while enjoying the labors and fruits of those labors of women that came before her, would seek to deny them to other women. Women like Palin like to keep other women down, because it can make it seem like her achievements are just that much better than those that she will not support.

One thing about Palin, though, is that she trades on her beauty and this practice is primary to her “feminism”. At some point, and it is coming soon, beauty fades and then all one has left is what you stand for and one’s integrity. Palin might be wise to remember what her party likes to espouse: “Character counts.”

McCain/Palin just can’t get over the FACT that they think we’re all as stupid as the people who attend their rallies.

They should save that for her 2012 run for President.

Outrage and Hate? Sounds like projection to me.

We are appalled at her audacity and her mendacity and her apparent inability to know truth from lie. We are appalled by her obvious aspiration to climb the political ladder at any cost.

And if we express that in jabs and jests, well, that’s just our way of coping. But outrage and hate? Not so much.

Exasperation and pique? You bet. As for those other weighty topics, we’ve covered those, and rather insightfully I’d like to say.

I personally don’t hate her, but I am disappointed that
JM picked her as his running mate. If you want to see
outrage and hate (based on lies) go to redstate or drudge.

Our economy is entering what is going to be at least a very painful recession. Quit acting like the clown at the back of the classroom whose strong asset is to point fun at and not to actually accomplish anything. Let’s see some investigative pieces about how the bailout/rescue is being conducted or what next steps might need to be taken. This other crap has become shooting fish in a barrel. The stuff here isn’t funny like SNL, or well constructed like Katie Couric’s interview … it is just unproductive outrage and hate. I’d like to see it focused somewhere more productive.

At least not legally.
