Fox news whines: Five interviews isn’t enough, Palin should be on every Fox show.

Time Magazine’s Mark Halperin reports that Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) will appear on Fox’s Hannity and Colmes tonight, her fourth interview with Sean Hannity (including one appearance on his radio show). All told, this will be Palin’s fifth Fox News sit-down. But apparently that’s not enough for Fox’s Megyn Kelly, who demanded that Palin give an interview with each and every Fox News host:

KELLY: Was it the McCain campaign’s responsibility to give her out to other organizations so that there wasn’t this monopoly for an entire week of the Couric soundbites being run over and over and over? She has yet to do any Fox daytime. She has not gone on this broadcast. She hasn’t gone on Fox and Friends. She hasn’t done Brit Hume’s show. She hasn’t done O’Reilly. I mean, why let it just sit there, all week, just the Katie Couric soundbites over and over?

Her guest, conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer, agreed, saying Palin should have done more talk radio interviews. Watch it:

In the meantime, Palin still refuses to give a press conference.

I really see Palin in a reality show.

I can just picture it: first dude with his separatist party, the unwed, pregnant teen daughter with the redneck boyfriend who "kicks @ss and doesn't want kids", the crazy kid names, the scandals, the ex brother-in-law cop, wacky shopping sprees (hicks in the Big City!), the creationism, the witch doctor blessing . . .

My god, the show just writes itself!

  2. DidHeJustSayThat Says:

In hindsight that looks like a smart tactic, however, in real time that would've appeared as though she was primarily submitting to hack interviews. And at the time the damage control crew in the McCain campaign basically froze, took their medicine and reluctantly have scarcely made her available to anyone but Faux since.

The complaints about her handling are ridiculous. What about her performance? Oh, that's easy, just have her do Faux interviews everyday of the week! Just silly.

  3. Uncle Ho Says:

Hey Kelly, Do you want some Brie with your whine?

    snark

  4. Fred Says:

Is Krauthammer a real human being. I swear he looks like a corpse and his talking points are just as relevant.

  5. hussein toasterhead Says:

Wow. I don't even know how I'm supposed to feel about this.

Am I supposed to be outraged because a Republican candidate is so insulated that she's not even going on her own propaganda chennel, or happy because Fox News is the one whining about it?

I think you got about one season before all of them, including the young one demand their own 'Flavor of Love'-like spinoff. It would be a fitting end to the 'Republican Party's First Dysfunctional Family'

And that has to be the title!

  7. texaslady Says:

My view of Ms.Kelly is does she ever blink ? Is she real, her two facial expressions are fanatic and zoned out. She got all hyper this a.m. and announced she was an attorney before her Faux News gig. But, now I think of it, all the female Faux commentators are blond, and angry. Whats with that ?

    Fred Says:

Is Krauthammer a real human being.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

He's an animatronic. Think It's a Small World in Disney World.

Like most GOPers and animatronics, he has been put on an audio loop where he repeats key phrases over and over again and if the tape gets stuck, no one notices because it's always the same $hit.

    "Tax and spend" "Terrorist" "Maverick"

    Rudy Guiliani is another animatronic.

  9. texaslady Says:

Oh and now everyone, just forget that $150,000 spent on clothes and $22,000 on hair and makeup because Sarah is wearing her consignment clothes in Tampa yesterday. Just never happened, spending humongous taxpayer money on froo froo pretending to be just an average "Joe". Repubs words, "just never happened, because I said it didn't ".

Thank you. That's all that was missing! :D

  11. gummitch Says:

Ms Kelly is desperately confused about what constitutes a "monopoly". She's also confused about what "other organizations" means to normal human beings: it does not mean FoxNews. FoxNews might charitably be included in a list of "other organizations" but having Palin appear on a bunch of FoxNews programs would be a monopoly, Ms Kelly, since she's not doing interviews anywhere else.

As for Krauthammer, I will blogwhore this commentary.

George W. is an animatronic, with faulty wiring.

  13. raynman Says:

So, FOX news isn't even trying to maintain an aura of impartiality anymore? They're just flat out saying "We're the Republican News Network, so the Republican VP Candidate should be on every show."

Faux news is up in arms about a Mickey Mouse registration, just how would MM actually vote ? Would he have a drivers license ? What a crock of crap Faux News is inciting dumb viewers with. Actual voting fraud is the question not registration fraud. And should we bring up Ann Coulter in Florida ? Funny how that was quieted.

  21. konchster Says:

I love it I wish she was on Fox News 24/7 which would finish of the Ol' Geezer and his campaign She loves it cause all she gets are prepped questions and softballs. We love it cause she might as well be in a fu*king closet the only people watching are the people who are already voting for her

  23. krdaddy Says:

That's great, the more time she spends on Fox with their
well delineated viewership, the less time she'll have to
spend on reasonable and balanced news shows. She can spend the
next 8 days "preaching to the choir" as it were. They've already decided who they're voting for anyway, this just
makes them feel like they've made the right choice.

  25. shoeless Says:

I can see why Fox is upset. Unless Palin resigns as Governor of Alaska, they will have to wait two years before they can make her the new attack bimbo on Fox and Friends.

  26. Oval12345678 aka James K. Sayre Says:

One small question, Sarah & Faux Friends, is a Palinocracy the same thing as a Dieboldocracy?

  27. FEARandSMEAR.com Says:

Well, this plays right into the coming week of Palin continuing to "go rogue" and verbalize the "tough questions" that the intellectually curious average Fox News viewers demands be answered...

Jesus H. Christ, these people are f'in stoopid.

  28. freeman Says:

Mz.Kelly seems genuinely upset that ALL Palins interviews were'nt done by fuch's snoose without being scripted and editted prior to airing them .
Telling lies and half truths and stirring up hate are what fox does best .The perfect tool for the devide and conquer Rovian strategy whose poisonous cloud has rested over American elections for the last several years ( with a little help from diebold ).
    Times change !

What's the matter? Is Fox News finally getting bored of endlessly repeating non-stories about ACORN.

  34. misshusseinmolly Says:

I look at it this way. Palin SHOULD be on all the Fox shows. Also all the CNN shows, all the MSNBC shows, as well as Meet the Press, Face the Nation, 60 Minutes, 20/20, The Today Show, Good Morning America, and all the rest of the network news shows. And let's throw in The Daily Show and the Colbert Report for good measure. After all, she's only trying to be elected to the second highest office in the land, and the American public deserves to get a good look at her.

However, she should get all this exposure under the same conditions that Biden is getting his. This means that she follows the rules of whatever medium she's appearing on, not setting her own. It means that she doesn't get questions in advance, nor are they vetted or pre-screened. Like Biden, she shows up and does the best she can with what she's given.

And then the American public can judge for themselves.

How could Palin study up on answers for pre selected and agreed upon questions if she appeared on every Faux show?

  36. Nevar Says:

"How could Palin study up on answers for pre selected and agreed upon questions if she appeared on every Faux show?"

Because they are all the same?

  37. republicanSScareme Says:

    Dear Megyn,

There's a reason why Sarah Palin hasn't appeared on O'Reilly, Brit Hume, Fox and Friends, etc., not to mention Charles Craphammer, and that's because Americans associate these shows with psychotic behavior.

Republicans already have a problem with the psychotic behavior issue without beating it to death.

Personally, I think Sarah would love to appear on these programs but her primary advisor, Joe Lieberman, has told her to avoid Fox News because people associated us with nut-job Zionists. Lieberman is worried this will lose Sarah the redneck vote.

Please distribute to all Fox News personnel so they will stop asking about this.

    Thanks,

    Roger

P.S. No one likes a whiner.

    She hasn’t done O’Reilly.

    - - She hasn't "done" Rich Lowry either, another member of the "Little Starbursts" club.

  44. paleolib Says:

Having McPalin go on every Fox "News" show with its three million max viewers would be akin to running an ice cream parlor with 37 flavors of vanilla. You get a lot of action with those who already like that flavor but nobody else cares. The reason the Couric interview sucked the life out of the campaign was that it exposed her as a fraud. The ABC interview already ran and the first Sean Insanity drool-fest popped up in relatively close proximity. They didn't get half the attention Couric's did because they provided no substance.

  45. CageyCretin Says:

Slightly OT, but: has any other VP candidate in 'modern' history ever NOT held at least one press conference before the election? Seriously curious if this is a first.

Oh and now everyone, just forget that $150,000 spent on clothes and $22,000 on hair and makeup because Sarah is wearing her consignment clothes in Tampa yesterday.

Ironically the RNC purchasing her clothes is a serious violation of the McCain-Feingold campaign-finance law.

Is John McCain against his his own law he co-sponsored and voted for now?

  47. CageyCretin Says:

    Wayne Says:
Is John McCain against his his own law he co-sponsored and voted for now?

No, certainly not. Johnny is completely for all of the things that he has always been 'for', and he never changes his mind on anything. He'd never change his diaper, either, but there are enough 'mommies' around to help out with that. However, it should be noted that he was certainly for the support of his co-sponsorship and stands firmly behind that as anything else. But you see, this kind of reform is important to the values voter and McCain is for the deregulation of regulations that are excessive unnecsessary regulations and against the deregulation of necessary regulations, or the regulation of deregulations in accordance with the regulations that are already regulated, but need less regulation to properly regulate themselves.

    Simple.

He's for or against whatever you want.

Actually Palin has been on the Cartoon Network every day of this '08 campaign. She wouldn't want to share the stage with hannity, ORielly, et al.

Actually having Ann Coulter sit in for ORielly and interview Palin would be a true conservative love fest. As would Newt Gingrich interviewing Palin. And lets not leave out Savage interviewing Palin.
