What strikes me is the purchase of the clothes by either the campaign or the RNC directly violates the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002 or McCain-Feingold campaign reform act which McCain cosponsored and supposedly helped write.

And both are a violation of campaign finance law. But, nothing will happen because of it. Bush won’t fill the empty seats on the commission that oversee’s campaign finance spending, so there’s no one there to find them guilty of violating the law.

McCain took public campaign funds. Taxpayers definitely bought Sarah’s duds. And I’m not buying the “donation” story, either. A VP needs a wardrobe, doesn’t she? The donation concept came up after she got caught.

I’m sorry missmolly, but you may be wrong on this one. If the McCain campaign paid for the clothes (which is what I suspect is true), then some of your money did go into purchasing the clothing if you checked the box on your tax form to donate to campaign financing.

I makes me mad as hell that McCain is using all that public money to run such a nasty and destructive campaign. It almost makes me want to never check that box again.
