If that happens, Lieberman loses all committee assignments and is reassigned to a shadowy seat in the back of the chamber near the bathroom. If the voters decide for good or bad that they still want him representing them after his conviction then IMO purely from a democratic view the worst that the senate should do is remove him from any committee he serves on.
