Bond warns that Obama would nominate judges who empathize with ‘the gay.’

During his introductory remarks at a rally for Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) this morning, Sen. Kit Bond (R-MO) warned that Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) would nominate judges who empathize with “the gay.” Misrepresenting Obama’s stated views on judicial nominations, Bond proclaimed:

Just this past week, we saw what Barack Obama said about judges. He said, ‘I’m tired of these judges who want to follow what the Founding Fathers said and the Constitution. I want judges who have a heart, have an empathy for the teenage mom, the minority, the gay, the disabled.’ … He thinks this country should be a government—not a government of laws, but a government of compassion and empathy, not of laws.

In fact, in discussing judicial nominations, Obama’s references to “empathy” only suggest that he would seek individuals who were not tainted by the “culture wars” of the 1990s:

We need somebody who’s got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it’s like to be a young teenage mom. The empathy to understand what it’s like to be poor, or African-American, or gay, or disabled, or old. … I am absolutely convinced that Culture Wars are just so ’90s. Their days are growing dark.

Kit "Fascist B@stard" Bond: "He thinks this country should be a government—not a government of laws, but a government of compassion and empathy, not of laws."

A Government with no compassion or empathy for is citizens is a Tyranny.
This is why the Founders of this country included "promote the general Welfare" in the Preamble to the Constitution, you fascist piece of crap.

The Republican philosophy in a (wing)nutshell: our government should not exhibit compassion or empathy.
Appropriately, he gave the speech in the home town of Rush Limprod who only escaped the conviction and sentence the law could have imposed for his prescription drug abuse because of the compassion and empathy our government exhibits.
    Well played sir.

Expect more of this as we get closer and closer to Election Day. The Republicans, more exactly the Neo-Cons, are running scared.

Where did Obama -- a Constitutional scholar and lawyer -- ever say he doesn't want "a government of laws"?

Why does Kit Bond think "compassion and empathy" are mutually exclusive with "laws"?

I'm glad I can be 100% certain Obama will not nominate Hariet Miers or anyone equally lacking in Constitution cred.

What Bond and the GOP base has forgotten is that judges are supposed to be impartial and apolitical. They are supposed to judge based on merit, not ideology. These GOoPer freaks want judges who make up their minds before they hear a case. Words can't express just how wrong, and anti-American, that is.

Nature created both humans and animals to run about 10% gay. It is none of your business, or mine, or the courts', what people do with each other in the privacy of their own homes.

And quit already with the tired old "Hussein" as if it mattered where hos family originated - are you a 100% aboriginal North American? No? Then you are the descendant of immigrants, and we should all be very, very afraid by your yardstick.

I kind of like the idea of a vote for sin, if by sin you mean people being true to themselves.

    ____________________________________________________________

First point -- It's the job of the Supreme Court to interpret the U.S. Constitution, not the Holy Bible. And the U.S. Constitution doesn't say anything about gays not being entitled to the same rights as straights.

Second point -- You appear to be very worried about "Hussein" appointing justices who advocate rampant sinning, but you have expressed no concern about "Sidney" doing so. Let me explain something to you. As a firm member of the religious right, Huckabee spoke of grand plans to amend the Constitution to reflect God's word. "Sidney" has no such plans. "Sidney" isn't a member of the religious right. "Sidney" is pandering like mad to the evangelicals to get them into the voting booth on Tuesday, but if he actually got elected, "Sidney" would abandon the religious right like day-old popcorn as soon as he didn't need them anymore.

    ___________________________________________________________

Popular? Yes, with some Alaskans. But her popularity figures aren't the highest of all governors. When she first took office, she had some extraordinary numbers (almost 90% approval in some polls), but this was because she defeated and succeeded the last governor, who was a corrupt slimebag by anyone's standards. However, once the newness wore off, her popularity drifted back down to normal levels. She lost her "most popular" crown within months to North Dakota's governor, John Hoeven.

Morally sound? She has already been found to have violated the state code of ethics and have abused her power in the Troopergate scandal. Her own state is now looking into whether she violated the rules when she used state money for her children's travel. And the digging has just begun.

And I find it interesting that your only criteria for running this country are popularity and morality. I guess knowledge of issues isn't important, is it?

Yet again, RR proves that he knows nothing about the Bible!

    Proverbs 6:16-19

16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

The vast majority of these seven abominations are those that the Republican nominee Sen. McCain is guilty of engaging in, so the vote FOR Sen. McCain is a vote FOR SIN!!!

You probably want to update the widely discredited Kinsey number on the percentage of homosexuals in population. The more widely used number is now 3% of the population is homosexual with about 2.8% of the males and about 1.4% of the females being homosexuals. Yes I can reference a source for these numbers, but if you’re really interested in the source simple search on bitblt on TP.

There are a couple of good reason why you should accept this number of three percent of the population being homosexual.

The first reason is that it makes all the other numbers associated with homosexuality look better like the number of same-sex households. The number of unmarried same-sex households is about 0.42% of the total according to the 2000 U.S. census. This number is a very small number if ten percent of the population is homosexual, but it’s less small if only three percent of the population is homosexual.

A similar improvement for a similar number would be the percentage of same-same gender couples who married in Massachusetts. Since it was reported that 3,000 same-same couples were married in Massachusetts before the residency requirements were removed this summer, this means that 0.09% of the population of the state had chosen same-same gender marriage, but only 0.93% of the homosexuals made this choice - if one assumes that 10% of the population is homosexual. However, if one assumes that only 3% of the population of the state is homosexual then 3.11% of the homosexuals have chosen to marry, and 3.11% is a much more impressive number that 0.93%. Don’t you agree?

As much as the smaller percentage number improves the other numbers there's another really good reason to abandon the Kinsey numbers, and it’s this: Kinsey had other numbers which put the number of homosexuals who had multiple partners as very high. bit is working from memory here but he believes the numbers were something like the percentage of male homosexual who had many, many partners at like 70% and the number of male homosexuals who had a lifetime number of above 500 partners at around 50%. Sounds rater ...sick, doesn't it?

If you have a reference for your 10% bit would appreciate seeing it.

BTW, it is bit's business if the behavior of any group of citizens makes the country less worth preserving. Of course you have noted that the U.S. Constitution was not written to endorse, promote, or allow licentiousness.

It's time for the American people to get it right and NOT vote for McCain-Palin, instead vote for change. It's time for this country to turn the page and seek a new and better future for ourselves and our children. It's time for REAL change in Washington, it's time to elect Barack Obama for president !

Obama-Biden are the wiser and stronger team to solve the crucial challenges we have in this nation and abroad !

    Amen.

Bond, Oh, you mean Obama would nominate judges that follow the Constitution and principles of human equality.....

  76. ralph the wonder llama Says:

dbadass, I'm afraid you hit the nail on the head.

I'm picturing The Return this way:

we're standing on the windswept roof of a skyscraper and we hear "BARTLEBEE the Destructor has come! Choose and Perish!"

As we desperately try to empty our heads of any image, TRoS admits that "it just popped in there" -- and suddenly a giant Sarah Palin rumbles through the streets, winking and crushing buildings.

Of course you have noted that the U.S. Constitution was not written to endorse, promote, or allow licentiousness.

Of course, if the U. S. Constitution were written to ban homosexuality, as bit suggests, then perhaps the framers should have made that more clear at the time.

  78. dasm Says:

Um, what's wrong with empathizing with "the gay"? This creep implies judges should hate gays? He implies judges should hate certain people/groups? Sorry, you hate-monger, judges should respect everybody. Everybody! Is there anyone else you think they should hate, Mr. Bond?

And, yet the politicians you support continue to engage in licentiousness, with nary a single word of condemnation from you! Why is that?

"...life, liberty, and the pursuit of happpiness." That's the only thing that all us gay people are looking for, despite your attempts to deny us the basic human rights written into the US Constitution. Why is that?

So the Supreme Court Judges don’t uphold the constitution?
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I know you are bone ignorant Bambi so let me help you out. The SC justices take an OATH to make their decisions WITHOUT REGARD TO PERSONS. Got that? WHO the people are involved in a case makes NO DIFFERENCE. I am certain that will be far too complex for your tiny mind to digest but ask someone with a normal IQ to explain it to you.

    RaptureReady Says:

Empathy for the gay? Is Hussein crazy? If Hussein is really a Christian, he should choose a judge that denounces this act rather than showing empathy toward these sinners. The bible says that this act is an abomination. This proves that a vote for Hussein is a vote for sin.
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I am not sure what is worse your ignorance or your hatefullness. If you dont have ampathy toward EVERYONE then you are a phony Christian. Didnt Jesus go AMONG the sinners? Did he turn away ANYONE? Didnt he SAVE the adulteress from stoning? You know nothing of the bible or true Christianity. Your constantly calling Obama by his middle name only outs you as a brainwashed idiot who KNOWS you are too stupid to think for yourself so you just repeat what your Limborg masters say. How sad and pathetic it must be to be you or even ever be within smelling distance OF you. Do you even remember what it was like before your soul dried up and blew away like the ash it has become?

  82. EugeneDebs Says:

    RaptureReady Says:

Doesn’t matter. We have someone just as good as Gov. Huckabee. Her name is Gov. Palin. She is the most popular and morally sound Governor in the United States.
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

HA, you are not the judge of who is and isnt moral but your usual mix of arrogance and stupidity is always good for a laugh. She couldnt POSSIBLY be the most popular governor in the US when her state has less than 700,000 people. California has four CITIES with a higher population you MORON. Do you practice to be this stupid or is it a gift?
