Earlier this week on MSNBC, McCain campaign flack Tucker Bounds said that if John McCain and Sarah Palin were Alaska voters, they would not vote for Sen. Ted Stevens (R-AK) — who was recently convicted on seven felony counts. But as First Read noted, Palin is an Alaska voter. However, yesterday during an interview with a local Toledo, OH CBS affiliate, Palin declined to answer when asked if she would vote for Stevens:
Q: So will you cast your ballot for Ted Stevens and are you encouraging others to do so? [...]
PALIN: I’ve never told people who I have voted for before because I see that as a very precious freedom in our country. Free and fair and uh – elections allow us to cast a secret ballot behind the voting booth curtain so that’s the way I’m going to keep it.
Watch it:
When First Read e-mailed Bounds to inform him that Palin will indeed be voting in Alaska, Bounds replied: “She called for him to step down in an interview this morning. I think I’m safe.”
Of course she can't say - probably waiting to see what he offers for a bribe.
I hear she's cheap - will settle for second-hand clothes.
October 30th, 2008 at 6:13 pmWho cares who Sarah Flailin votes for. I just want her and the old grumpy sourpuss lose on Tuesday!!!
October 30th, 2008 at 6:15 pmNuf sed!
PALIN: "I’ve never told people who I have voted for before..."
...that's cause, ya know, I don't want any of the names and checks ta match up!
October 30th, 2008 at 6:15 pmBounds replied: “She called for him to step down in an interview this morning. I think I’m safe.”
Really? I think you're just stupid.
October 30th, 2008 at 6:16 pmPalin damns Stevens with faint praise. Just another roundhouse kick to the GOP nutsack.
October 30th, 2008 at 6:17 pmShe has a vote for Ted Stevens, but it doesn't belong to her -
October 30th, 2008 at 6:18 pmsomebody loaned it to her.
Even Redstate was telling people not to vote for
October 30th, 2008 at 6:22 pmStevens. Ha
electoral-vote.com has polling data giving Begich an 8-point lead over Teddy.
October 30th, 2008 at 6:24 pmFor once I agree with Sarah Palin - even she's entitled to the "secret" ballot. Given that, though, a more relavent question might be, "Is she voting for McCain/Palin?"
October 30th, 2008 at 6:25 pmAn evasive bit of pap from Bible Spice? I'm shocked.
October 30th, 2008 at 6:29 pmOn her ballot it reads Palin/McCain
October 30th, 2008 at 6:29 pmAw, just shut-up stupid whore and show us your tits already...
October 30th, 2008 at 6:30 pm"Well, now, Ted, maybe I will and maybe I won't. I sure could use a new veranda on my house though! You betcha!"
*wink*
October 30th, 2008 at 6:32 pmShe's voting for Exxon/Mobil
October 30th, 2008 at 6:33 pmI wish I could vote for Ted Stevens...as a judge who could possibly hear his case on appeal. Then I'd vote "hell no" and send his corrupt a$$ to be bunk mates with the Randy "the Vagabond" Cunningham.
October 30th, 2008 at 6:34 pmAw, just shut-up stupid whore and show us your tits already…
mcinsane has already offered his wife up for a biker stripping party.
Why doesn't he do the same for palin?

If I laughed at this am I a sexist?
October 30th, 2008 at 6:41 pmOf course she is not voting for the convicted Stevens. He's a Democrat, at least according to Faux Noise. She could never vote for a Democrat.
October 30th, 2008 at 6:46 pmSarah pals around with convicted criminals.
October 30th, 2008 at 6:50 pmIt makes you sick....after five kids just about everything on her is drooping.
October 30th, 2008 at 6:52 pmPalin is correct -- it's nobody's business who she votes for.
That said, however -- it would be downright bizarre for her to vote for Stevens' Democratic opponent. If Stevens wins (kind of a long shot by now), he will most likely resign to avoid being expelled by the Senate, after which Palin can appoint an electable Republican to serve until the required special election can be held. This scenario is the only way for the GOP to hang onto the seat, so Palin's vote is rather obvious to me.
Even Palin knows the folly of announcing that she plans to vote for a convicted felon -- especially one she has supported in the past, and one who has helped her career. Not exactly the publicity she wants. Even though it's the only way to save the seat for the Republicans, admitting so would be political suicide.
October 30th, 2008 at 6:52 pmYes Sarah , the vote you cast behind the curtain is secret which is your sacred right in a democracy . Close your bedroom door in your own home however and your supporters are very concerned about what people are doing there and whether or not they should be allowed too .

Absolutely agree. This is one of those silly non-stories TP indulges in every once in a while.
October 30th, 2008 at 6:57 pmany fool knows she is going to vote papa ted
October 30th, 2008 at 6:58 pmDon't they require a special election in Alaska rather than the governor appointing someone?
October 30th, 2008 at 7:00 pmA pity she hasn't the same respect for curtains in homes and hospital rooms.
October 30th, 2008 at 7:01 pmOf course she will vote for Uncle Ted. If Begich gets into office then there will be no chance for Palin to run in the special election after Stevens is removed from office for his rampant ethics violations.
The question is intended to ask Palin for whether she is endorsing Stevens or not. As Governor of Alaska, Palin is in a position to influence popular opinion among those going to the polls next week. It is of course her right not to endorse Stevens, but I don't think the question is out of line.
October 30th, 2008 at 7:02 pmSarah won't say cause she's gonna cross out Stevens and write in Nugent.
October 30th, 2008 at 7:06 pmThat'll whack 'em you betcha!
Sarah, Sarah, Sarah...
McCain-Palin are LIARS, HYPOCRITES and FRAUDS.

October 30th, 2008 at 7:06 pmwe all know if it were politically expedient flailin palin would throw stevens under the wheels of the bus. since it isn't, she'll fall in line like a good lil nazi and vote for a convicted felon.
October 30th, 2008 at 7:27 pmSarah wouldn't be Govenor of Alaska if not for Uncle Ted Stevens the now convicted felon, of cause she will vote for his so will First Dude Todd. Sarah is hopes the ballots get fixed in time for Uncle Ted to win by cheating.
October 30th, 2008 at 8:38 pmIf McCain and Palin were Alaska voters......
Wouldn't it be strange for the Governor of Alaska to NOT be an Alaska voter ?
October 30th, 2008 at 10:13 pmShe better vote for him. He can't vote for himself. http://straighttalkonmccain.blogspot.com/

There will be plenty of time for that AFTER Obama wins and she goes slinking back to Alaska to face further abuse of power charges and hopefully an impeachment hearing in the near future. Then, after continued humiliation and facing growing lawyer bills, Larry Flint can step in and offer her a racy spread with Joe(Sam) the "plumber/publicity hound/country music star/major LIV/and all around @sshole".
