Chambliss: The rush of African-Americans to the polls has ‘got our side energized.’

saxby.jpgOn Wednesday, the chairman of the Hillsborough County, Florida Republican party forwarded an e-mail to several hundred party members that warned of “‘the threat’ of ‘carloads of black Obama supporters coming from the inner city to cast their votes.’” While the McCain campaign condemned the email, the sentiment does not appear to be isolated. As Tapped notes, earlier this week, Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) proclaimed that the the “rush” of African-Americans to the polls has “got our side energized“:

There has always been a rush to the polls by African-Americans early,” he said at the square in Covington, a quick stop on a bus tour as the campaign entered its final week. He predicted the crowds of early voters would motivate Republicans to turn out. “It has also got our side energized, they see what is happening,” he said.

Similarly, Chambliss has been warning his “predominantly white base” in North Georgia, “The other folks are voting.”

The rhetoric from this Chambliss campaign is downright dignified when one looks back to 2002. How ANYONE can accuse a decorated, triple amputee war hero of cowardice and being soft on national security is baffling.

Once and for all, may the people of this country kick out the chickenhawk, fear mongering, reactionary, redneck scum from all three branches of government.

As the district covers the city, why would carloads of black people drive from the inner city to the country to cast their vote ?

Wouldn’t it be easier for them to just vote against the jerk from their local neighborhood precinct ?

Not sexy enough, from a marketing standpoint.

“A rush to the polls” calls up images of carloads of “uppity” blacks, coming into white voting precincts, to foment trouble — like intimidating white women from voting.

  16. Badger says:

Both Georgia’s Senators, Saxby Chambliss being one, Voted For the $700 Billion bailout…while ALL of Georgia’s Congressmen voted AGAINST it.

That fact, plus Bob Bahr, have put Sen. Chambliss’ reelection in Jeopardy. Payback for Max Cleland would be some sweet Karma.

As the Obama Campaign knows, writing off the South would be a Big Mistake. A Majority of African Americans now live in the South. Since the electoral college is winner take all, Writing off this section of the country by Democrats would DISENFRANCHISE a Majority of African-Americans from the presidential election.

  19. dasm says:

“Our side”??? Okay, this is pretty blatant. “Our side”, according to Chambliss, means “white” since he says it’s the opposite of “African-Americans”. So for Chambliss, “Our side” = “white”. Good Lord, what a hateful, ignorant racist. Arrest him as a hate-monger when a hate crime occurs.

Your choice is voting for someone who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard Law School as opposed someone who graduated 894 out of 899 from the US Naval Academy and only probably that high (or low) because his daddy was an Admiral at the time. So, you can vote for THE SHIT or for the dipshit. I told you I’d make it simple.

Local GOP Chairman distributes racist e-mail

Temple Terrace, Florida – The long lines of early voters at the Temple Terrace Library have caused concern for the Republican Headquarters a block away. It has also caused a major storm in local politics.

The head of the Hillsborough GOP, David Storck, distributed an email from a Republican Party volunteer saying the voters are a threat.

That’s because, as the volunteer says in the email, he sees “car loads of black Obama supporters coming from the inner city to cast their votes for Obama.”

It goes on to say, “This is their chance to get a black president and they seem to care little the he is at minimum a socialist and probably Marxist in his core beliefs.” The Republican volunteer says that is because, “After all he is black- no experience or accomplishments but he is black.”

They’re pulling out all the stops, because they know their goose is cooked and they have nothing to lose (and no other tools in the bag).

If there’s any more evidence needed that the Rethuglican party needs to be stabbed through the heart with a wooden stake, shot with a silver bullet, and then entombed in a 1000 ton concrete sarcophagus, I don’t know what it is. Probably because there are no early voting outlets for them to use in the inner city. From what I have read, they had placed the early voting outlets in places that will most discourage the poor and black people from voting. The Republicans are using early voting as a way to disenfranchise voters along with all the other methods they are using.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, we need to go to vote-by-mail in every state. It needs to be a Federal mandate. When you vote by mail there is no way for people to challenge your vote or flip the electronic voting machine. Plus you can vote in the privacy of your own home up to two weeks before the election. I say: Well, Senator McCain is a veteran and served his country among other things by spending 5 1/2 years in the Hanoi Hilton. Yet, Max Cleland is some sort of wonderful man with a distinguished service record? What’s the difference? Oh, that’s right, McCain’s a Republican – that makes him fair game for hate-filled attacks. What hypocrites you are!

Yes, I understand that Chambliss’ comments about “the other side” aren’t exactly very bright, but is it really racist to take note that blacks are voting in droves? It may not be “politically correct” to say so, but they apparently are. Why do you folks on this obviously very far-left blog think that it’s racist to make note of it, but NOT racist by blacks to vote for Obama simply “because he is black?” Isn’t THAT racist itself? It’s the EPITOME of racism!

If I said I’m voting for McCain “because he’s white” ohhhh boy, that is SOOOO racist! But nobody seems to have the guts to point out the truth!

If blacks vote for Obama “because he’s black,” oh, well, that’s quite understandable.

If whites vote for McCain “because he’s white” that’s racist!

No double-standard here at ALL, huh? It goes on and on and on. People simply don’t or won’t point out this quite glaringly racist way of thinking. Blacks will vote for Obama upwards of 95%. I guess the great Dr. Martin Luther King is a relic too…”I have a dream that one day people will be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” This just ain’t happening, folks, and you know it. It’s so obvious that it’s simply undeniable to any unbiased observer.

The Democratic party is so full of hypocrites. It isn’t that you have a lock on them all, but I just find it quite interesting that the party of “tolerance and inclusion” tolerates only those that share their point of view, and includes only those same people.

If someone DOESN’T share your point of view, oh my goodness, the insults just FLY don’t they? Racist, stupid, “repukes,” Re-tards,” etc. etc. etc. I guess that’s what you do when you cannot win a political discussion on merit, huh? The comments here above sure do bear that out in spades! There’s the hypocritical Democratic mindset again! Real cute. I, for one, have NO problem with a “black man in power.” It just has to be the right one, like a Colin Powell.

I say: Just look at the multitude of responses to this article. They should be an embarrassment to any intelligent PERSON, regardless of color! I’m seeing here you all jumping on this politician for basically trying to say (albeit in a quite unflattering way) that lots of blacks are voting and what he didn’t HAVE to say was that they’re nearly all voting for Obama. NO politcal candidate enjoys NEARLY THAT kind of support from ANY group, period. A sizeable percentage of whites will be voting for Obama, and a very tiny fraction of blacks will be voting for McCain. Obama will receive about 95% of the black vote and somewhere near 50% of the white vote. Again, I ask: who is the racist here? Hm??

No, I’m voting for McCain BECAUSE I can think. Calling people that disagree with you lots of bad names certainly doesn’t endear you to anyone. Then again, when your Democratic party is so intellectually bankrupt of good ideas that’s about all you can resort to, isn’t it?

Obama, Biden, and Bill Richardson can’t even get their own stories staight about the so-called “95% of all people getting a tax reduction.” That’s a lie, for one. 40% of the poulation doesn’t even PAY income tax, for one thing, so the best Obama can do is 60%, but that still includes those making more than $250,000 if you ask Obama. Or $200,000 if you ask Biden. Or $120,000 if you ask Bill Richardson. Hm. Intersting.

Sorry, I just cannot vote for someone who wants to “spread the wealth around,” and I’m not exactly wealthy. I’d personally benefit (I think) from Obama’s tax scam, but I have the BRAINS to know that would be bad for the country.

You see, there’s a reason Socialism does not work. It’s been tried in a number of places and has failed miserably. You know why? Human nature!

If I’m busting my ass trying to make my business solvent and the government wants to take more and more money from me and give it to the poor – CLASSIC socialism, redistribution of wealth, or in Obamaspeak “spreading the money around” – then guess what? I’m going to decide sooner or later that the risks I take in trying to make ends meet are not worth the rewards anymore, and close up. I’ll go to work for someone else and just bring home a paycheck. Less worry, less hassle, and it’s more dependable than even in the MOST business-friendly environments.

Herein lies a problem. What happens if the guy I go to work for decides the same thing about HIS business? I’m now out of work.

You see, when people are taxed to death and the government wants to “even things up” by taking the money I made from me and giving it away to someone else, I decide it’s just not worth it anymore. If everyone’s going to be “equal” regardless of ability or drive, the end result isn’t that you pull the poor UP. By contrast, you yank the everyone else DOWN! But I know this will go right past you all because the facts aren’t convenient to your point of view, and so next come the insults. It’s what you do.

It’s because of the “us” versus “them” mentality that exists in the minds of so many Americans — some consciously, but often subconsciously — that we need to elect a man like Obama.

This is why Obama’s “one Country” speech is so moving. We will become one country. We just have to wait another generation for the remaining racists die off. I also think that Obama is going to be an inspirational leader who will live by his one country credo and show the racists that they have nothing to fear from black people.

Yet, Max Cleland is some sort of wonderful man with a distinguished service record? What’s the difference? Oh, that’s right, McCain’s a Republican – that makes him fair game for hate-filled attacks. What hypocrites you are!

The difference is that Max Cleland was out there with his boots on the ground fighting bravely and honorably.

McCain, on the other hand, chose to be a flyboy where he could kill people (many of them innocent children) from the safety of his airplane. Then he plays air jockey and crashes his plane. Nothing heroic about that, just sheer stupidity. Then he’s captured and spends 5 years in the “Hanoi Hilton”. While he was there he “sang like a bird” and was treated well because 1) he was the son of an Admiral and 2) he did numerous propaganda films (all of which have mysteriously disappeared) for the Viet Cong.

First of all, blacks aren’t voting for Obama because he is black. They are voting for him because they think he is the best candidate. When Hillary was first running she had 70% of the black vote. That proves that they are not voting because of race. She lost the black vote with her hateful campaign.

    ————————-
A fair question/comment. I chose “LiberalHater” as an attention-getter since I read the filth-laden comments before I registered. I don’t HATE liberals – my own Mother is a Liberal – I think they’re bad for America. Why?

    - You cannot tax a nation into prosperity, ESPECIALLY during a recession. Obama has made a couple of comments that he “might have to wait on those” – good! Wait forever, man! Liberals seem to have the idea that income taxes are a zero-sum game. They are not. It isn’t how MUCH you can SOAK people for as a percentage of income. That’s an “odd and misguided” view of economics. Revenue is all about how many times a dollar gets taxed. With lower taxes, people have more money to spend, and spend it, given that we have a negative sacings rate in the USA but that’s another subject. If people spend, the money they give it to spend that, and they money they spend it with spend that, etc…and the more times that dollar is “rolled over to the next person” it is TAXED EACH TIME! THAT is how you increase revenues, as many tax cuts (uh, including the Bush tax cuts) have shown in the past. BTW Kennedy lowered the top rate and brought in more revenue too, so it’s a bi-partisan fact.

    2) Border security. Democrats in general (and since everyone is human, McCain did too at first) do NOT want to guard our borders. I cannot for the life of me (which may be literal someday) understand why. Oh, yes. I got it. The more Mexicans that come in, legally or illegally, tend to vote democratic. More votes for them, then. They’re putting their own interests first, screw the country. BTW, that’s one of the FEW powers actually given to a President by the Constitution, and Bush has ignored it and Obama shows no signs of doing anything, either. McCain’s actually come around on it.

    3) Redistribution of wealth – I’ve already covered that.

    4) The stupid concept that NOT drilling domestically for oil is GOOD for us? DRILL, DAMMIT! Yes, it will take a few years for a drop of oil to come of it. I say to that, that we better get started, then. I don’t care if it doesn’t lower oil prices. We can tap our own resources and be less dependent and send less money to countries that support terrorists! Good enough for me.

    5) Obama in particular made a statement to the effect that the “Constitution is faulty” – well, pardon me if I think our collective Founding Fathers were just a liiiitle wiser than this charlatan.

    6) For all the mud that Democrats have slung at Sarah Palin, almost all of which had nothing to do about ability, I find it odd that the one charge that has some merit about her is that she’s inexperienced. Funny how these same people give Obama a pass on THAT subject, and she’s running for VICE President!

I’m actually a Libertarian. My view is that the government can screw up a wet dream and the smaller the federal government is, the better off EVERYONE is, including the poor. The feds burn through SO much money on programs that don’t work and never will that the same money they’re spending for all this crap if given to the poor…well…they wouldn’t be poor anymore.

Well, Fred, Since you put words in my mouth I never said…let me make it clear.

I’ve never said Bush was a great President. He’s not a good president, and he’s no conservative, despite what the lefties and the press may say. A true conservative is the one you all hate: Ronald Reagan. The country certainly wasn’t divided when he was in office.

Having said that, McCain is no conservative either, but he has a RECORD of doing the very thing you vilify Republicans for as not being good Americans. To deny the fact that McCain has bucked his own party line is to deny the truth.

Once again, I never said I think Obama is going to lose the election, speaking of “boomerang methodology” – you’re putting words in my mouth I never said and then trashing me over it. HOW CONVENIENT!

I’m sorry if I don’t think that a community organizer and someone that’s spent more time on the campaign trail than actually being in the Senate, and someone who hasn’t authored any legislation of any significance whatsoever is unqualified to be president! Basically I see McCain as the lesser of two evils, and I for one am tired of having to vote with that mindset. I didn’t turn 18 until just after Reagan’s landslide in his re-election.

  98. McWars says:

And cut out the “redistribution” crap. Whether you raise taxes on the middle class or the wealthy, taxes have always been a redistribution of wealth, one spending branch of our economy. When you reduce the ability of the government to serve the people, as has been the case over the last eight years, you have to repair the damage. Sometimes taxes have to go up; other times it’s ok for them to be cut.

Take it from Colin Powell: reexamining the tax structure is not radical. Roads, hospitals, schools, etc. If you don’t like taxes, don’t prosper from our infrastructure.

Gen. Eisenhower, for example, upheld tax rates that were several times higher for the wealthiest, yet our economy thrived.

That’s a far cry from today, and restoring the tax rate from 36% to 39% is not radical; it’s simply the end of a tax break that has proved to be unaffordable. You have increased cost pressures of the U.S. government while decreasing its revenues; what did you expect to come out of this?

Get off your ass, you anti-tax bum.

If that’s all the ammo you have to use against me – a silly screenname – well, I think I’m doing pretty well. I’ve already explained the name. It’s a headline to get peoples’ attention, nothing more. You fell for it, after all. :)

And yes, Bill Ayers I’d say is unamerican and a terrorist. Placing bombs in your own government buildings isn’t exactly something to be proud of, and had that bomb gone off 20 seconds earlier, he would have killed a mother and an infant. Funny how “killing babies” is something the yet again hypocritical left likes to toss around charges about, yet I just bet you are pro-abortion, aren’t you? I’m just as certain you can in some twisted way justify that belief. You keep kidding yourself, you “2 faced phony!”

Read the comments I posted made by men more wise than anyone making comments here and tell me it sounds like a Democrat, willya?

I’m done here. To the couple of comments challenging me that were thoughtful, I congratulate you on a job well-done. It is nice to be able to have a straight-up dialogue but I also see by the name-calling I’ve gotten in this short time that the majority of you are incapable of doing so.

I know I didn’t change anyone’s mind about their vote, but hopefully I’ve caused a couple of you to challenge your OWN beliefs, something I do regularly with myself, and as a consequence have changed positions on as I’ve matured. I was raised (actually indoctrinated) by a Liberal parent whom I certainly do not hate, and in life experience I have changed my mind about many things, including pure Capitalism.

Pure Capitalism has been recently shown to be a bad idea. Greed trumps all but fear. And with the teeth taken out of regulatory agencies like the SEC, fear took a huge back seat to greed, and we’re all paying the price for it now. While the issue had it’s roots in the so-called Community Reinvestment Act of 1977, and given teeth by the Clinton administration (check it on wikipedia, folks), the greed on Wall Street and by mortgage brokers ran unchecked. When you get 40 to 1 leverage, make poor loans and keep it all a secret…well, look at what you get!

In fact, the “pure” form of anything except Democracy is bad. Far-right is every bit as bad as far-left. See: WWII, Nazi Germany (fascist) fights the USSR (far-left, Communism). Both result in the same thing: few rights for citizens and open persecution of ethnic groups. BTW last weekend I saw a football player on TV whose first name was “Aryan” which made me wonder about his parents’ sanity but I digress. The point is that I think we will ALL suffer if we have both a Democratic president and a democratic super-majority in the Senate. Without checks and balances…bad things happen…no matter which party it is.

One final point: I’m not a George W Bush fan but I did vote for him twice because of his opponents. John Kerry, I’ve noted from his many appearances on Meet the Distressed, is a VERY polarizing figure and an outright liar on many occasions. I’ve sat here in astonishment wondering how he could get away with the spin he puts on things. I’m surprised his words don’t go crashing through the wall, there’s so much spin in them. And Al Gore…a nice guy he does seem like, but he looked so stiff on stage in debates, rolling his eyes and sighing, not to mention the “science” behind his Global Warming theories, and that’s just what they are, theories – Climate science is still in its infancy and everyone is assuming we’re the cause. Not *A* cause, as I believe but THE cause. The data just isn’t there, and I’m talking about real reproduceable double-blind studies or some other smoking gun. For instance, I cannot believe that Carbon Dioxide is a pollutant. If that’s so, all people on earth must die since it’s what we all exhale. At least Clinton can’t make a non-inhaling claim on THAT one, eh? But I do think that killing everyone on the planet because we’re all polluters simply by “being” is faulty psuedo-science and really does kinda defeat the purpose, don’tcha think???

To the others who are incapable of making a rebuttal without name-calling or fallacious anecdotes…you enjoy living in your own little bubble world. Just remember…a few years ago California was under _complete_ control by Democrats led by Governor Grey Davis. Look at how that one turned out. I don’t want to see it repeated on a national scale.

Everyone near me was an Obama supporter, including a young 19 year old who was going to vote for the first time. The youth turnout – black and white – has been huge.

Chambliss is sounding the desperate alarm of a man who knows his days in power are numbered. It is possible that the non-Atlanta parts of the state may put Chambliss back in the Senate, but the victory will be short-lived. It won’t be long before there is a much greater representation of women and minorities in Georgia’s Congressional delegation. If trends continue, Georgia may even give its electoral votes to Obama this year. May that it be so!

    - I’ve not seen a Democrat who ran on a tax-cut platform who actually followed through with it. Mondale “My opponent will raise taxes on you. So will I. He won’t tell you. I just did.” Reagan didn’t raise taxes and Mondale won his home state and the screamingly Liberal bastion of Washington, D.C.

Take it from Colin Powell: reexamining the tax structure is not radical. Roads, hospitals, schools, etc. If you don’t like taxes, don’t prosper from our infrastructure.

    - I never said that taxes should be zero. My point is raising taxes instead of cutting gov’t programs that don’t work makes no sense.

Gen. Eisenhower, for example, upheld tax rates that were several times higher for the wealthiest, yet our economy thrived.

    - that’s news to Fred: “It always happens when republicans get power. Corruption and cronyism instead of good managers and a huge financial corruption scandal followed by a recession.”

That’s a far cry from today, and restoring the tax rate from 36% to 39% is not radical; it’s simply the end of a tax break that has proved to be unaffordable. You have increased cost pressures of the U.S. government while decreasing its revenues; what did you expect to come out of this?

    - tax revenues increased under the Bush tax cuts. That’s a fact. One that you ignore, because it’s inconvenient. You CUT SPENDING, again, something Liberals are loath to do, and Obama has yet to mention ANY program he’ll cut, and even his friends in the Liberal media have taken note of that.

Get off your ass, you anti-tax bum.

    - Oh, and you were doing SO well up until here. You just HAD to revert to your “compassionate, inclusive” mantra eh?

    Another hypocrite.

  105. dbadass says:

Thanks for the reply LiberalHater. In my experience there are only two types of Libertarians. There are the ones that are basically republicans that are just too freaking cheap to want to actually pay taxes to support a society and then there are the ones that just wanna smoke pot in peace. Which are you?

  106. McWars says:

Reagan did raise taxes, on the middle class. I believe this was in 1986. He cut taxes for the wealthiest while introducing a new brackets for the not-so-wealthy.

    - that’s news to Fred: “It always happens when republicans get power. Corruption and cronyism instead of good managers and a huge financial corruption scandal followed by a recession.

Today’s GOP is wrapped in McCarthyism. Eisenhower opposed McCarthyism but wasn’t so vocal about it. I’m sure Fred would tell you that today’s GOP is far different than the GOP of the 50s, though I don’t get excited about either version, especially as it pertains to civil rights. Even Barry Goldwater in the 1980s feared the GOP’s turn into a religious organization.

    - tax revenues increased under the Bush tax cuts. That’s a fact. One that you ignore, because it’s inconvenient.

  111. LiberalHater says:

    Macwars says:

A very mild recession, hardly memorable. In addition, I think we were occupied enjoying the booming Clinton economy to care about a few controversies having nothing to do with the effectiveness of government. Just because Newtie thinks it’s a big deal doesn’t make it so.

    ——————————

First, I don’t care what “Newtie” says. I do the thinking for myself, and I’ve yet to call anyone here a name. Do I get the same courtesy? Of COURSE not? Calling a hypocrite a hypocrite might be a label but it’s not name-calling like the long list of names I’ve been called just for rationally voicing my own opinion. This “mild recession” wiped out over $5 TRILLION (yes, with a “T”) in wealth and it’s not just from the wealthy. People’s retirement savings were wiped out and many others saw their IRAs and 401(k)s sharply decline in value. I’d say that kind of money is more than “hardly memorable.”

This is certainly the last post I’ll make, and the last visit I’ll EVER make to this place. I’ve tried to hold a reasonable, rational discussion here and I’ve been welcomed at every turn with name-calling and half-truths, and flat-out lies (of course, they only favor Democrats, thus the distortions). You see, SOME people actually THINK when they vote instead of pulling the lever in the voting booth with the big fat blue “D” above it. In fact, I’m voting for a Democrat for Mayor of my city, for one. His opponent is a former mayor running again for a non-consecutive term who made many promises he never kept in his first attempt so why give him a second time to lie? Try someone else.

I also love the “fact” you Liberals SO love to drag out – the fact that even McCain himself said, fallaciously, that “I voted with President Bush more than even many Republicans did.” Well, he’s wrong and you’re wrong.

Since when did the President cast a vote for ANY law? He simply signs a bill into law, or returns it unsigned as a veto. I can forgive McCain for it as I would any other politician since we live in a sound-bite world, he was simply making a point. Voters should look more deeply into things and toss out the nonsensical which you again cannot do, apparently.

I really think all you REAL “haters” out there need to take a good, long look at yourselves. How can you be the party of tolerance and inclusion when you are almost all to a PERSON on here intolerant of me as shown by your constant vitriol and name-calling? How can you call ME “unamerican” when I’m not the one voting for someone who calls the U.S. Constitution “faulty” and I’m sorry, but yes, consorted MORE THAN ONCE with a known domestic terrorist? How can you vote for a man who attended a RACIST CHURCH for TWENTY YEARS and “wasn’t aware” of his pastors views? Are you freaking KIDDING me? I bet you guys actually BUY INTO THAT! 20 years and no idea? I guess Obama (and Michelle, too it looks like) slept through church every single time since he never heard any of that kind of talk, and something tells me that wasn’t the first time Jeremiah Wright called America the “U.S. of KKK A” and “not God BLESS America – God DAMN America!” If nothing else, he should know his ten commandments as a pastor. Taking the Lord’s name in vain is a no-no. Obama simply has a lot of questionable associations with a lot of people, including Tony Rezco. That’s 3 right there and who knows how many more there are that the Obama-worshipping press hasn’t looked into?

Speaking of the press, just the day before yesterday a non-partison watchdog group came out rating the various news outlets on bias. Fox News was the only one that lived up to their own “fair and balanced” slogan: 40% of their reports were negative for Obama, and 40% of their reports were negative for McCain. It really is impossible to get any more fair and balanced than that. I know Fox News is a four-letter word with you Libs, but the facts are what they are. You’ll watch Fox news and never see all the Liberals they have on to express THEIR views. Ever hear of “Hannity AND Combs?” Combs is the real skinny guy with the glasses (whom I do like btw, he’s smart, funny, and respectful, unlike most liberals).

I’m sure there will be even MORE slurs thrown at me by the time I post this last note. Post #112 is the last one on my screen right now (my last post and not refreshing the browser after reading the filth posted since the one before that).

You name-callers go right ahead. KEEP on calling names and categorizing me and then pouncing on racists for being racists. Glass houses, folks, glass houses.

I guess since I have yet to call anyone the kinds of names I’ve been called simply for expressing an opinion. My opinion of Liberals is really reinforced by you guys. You always seem to talk a good game but when it comes down to crunch time you just cannot help yourselves. Instead of using facts to back up your sentiments, you resort to half-truths and outright lies sometimes to try and make your point. I on the other hand have clearly stated my own ideas and I didn’t have to call people names to do it!

It just goes to show that Libertarians have the intellectual and factual advantage over the tax-hiking while lowering taxes on the 95% of families when 40% of families pay no income tax as it is…up from 32% since BEFORE the much-ballyhooed Bush tax cuts. It’s like Bush is the 21st Century El-Nino…he gets blamed for everything even if he had nothing to do with it! As I said I’m not a fan of his but the man HAS done SOME good.

I think I’ll go and try to find a Liberal that can argue their own point by being intellectually honest and doesn’t resort to name-calling or other put-downs just because they can. Then again, I think I’d be wasting my time.

    ———————————
Okay. Last post for real, since you’re so sweet with the McCain-campaign monkeyman whatever comments. I just had to do this since it comes from none other than your own beloved NEW YORK TIMES:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2005/07/13/business/13deficit.html?pagewanted=print

They try to spin it different ways…like this snippet:

“a lot of the increase in tax revenue flows from the improving economy and higher incomes”

Well DUH, that’s what happens when you reduce taxes. People have more money to spend, thus, improving the economy!

One last point on this…and yes this will be the last post, I promise. I just couldn’t resist on this point:

Firstly, it looks like even the NYT cannot deny the correlation between lower taxes (menaing more money in your pocket) and increased economic activity; it’s really hard to spend money you don’t have unless you borrow it.

Lastly, even Nancy Pelosi has proven by her own opinions and actions that individuals know how to spend their money better than the government does. What’s her FIRST reaction to an economic downturn/recession/whatever? AN ECONOMIC STIMULUS PACKAGE – SENDING MONEY *BACK* TO THE PEOPLE!

Well golly, Sgt. Carter, I thought higher taxes are needed for prosperity! No…Nancy Pelosi disagrees – she wants to send money back to people in hard times. Yet another example of hypocrisy by the left.

The PROBLEM is that the gov’t pisses away too damn much money! Since when is the government efficient at ANYTHING? HM? $800 toilet seats? Pshaw.

That is why I’m a Libertarian. Unlike Liberals, I can see that the USA is the greatest nation on earth not because of her government, but because of her people.

I’m truly sorry that so many people are fooled into thinking otherwise because it simple isn’t true. Despite the faults of our government, we remain the most free people on the face of the earth, and we’re also the most prosperous nation on the face of the earth. Am I the only one here that doesn’t think that’s some wild, bizarre coincidence?

    Looks that way.

OK…now I gotta…I guess get back to the McCain campaign boss that I’m ostensibly working for. Some people don’t understand that people like me jump into the fire here, knowing I’d be called names, ganged up on, whatever. I can take it and dish it back with rational arguments instead of “yo mama wears combat boots!”

Then agian, that’s a real insult to Liberals since you hate the military so much. Just remember that when you dismantle our military and continue to leave the border unguarded and we suffer another terror attack because of it. One thing I’ll say about Bush; like it or not, we did get sucker-punched, yes. But not since then, and it ain’t because we’re NOT killing them in Iraq and Afghanistan. I haven’t seen anyone complain about the “murdering of children” that the terrorists did on 9/11, either.

Gotta run, I’m supposed to be out sending racist fliers out or something…

  118. Bozo The Neoclown says:

    LiberalHater Says:
“Then agian, that’s a real insult to Liberals since you hate the military so much.”

PPPssssttttt, it wasn’t “the liberals” who voted against the new G.I. bill, it was your maverick McLame. Then again, I guess it doesn’t matter when one has been sucking off the tit of disability for the past forty years and was running around with a beer heiress while your current wife was recovering from a disfiguring accident.

  119. Fred says:

    LiberalHater Says:
The PROBLEM is that the gov’t pisses away too damn much money! Since when is the government efficient at ANYTHING?

I’m just going to give you one simple example…..social security.

Just because bush and mccain want the government to fail and set out to prove it by appointing unqualified people and dooming it to failure does not mean it has to be that way.

Other nations have nationalized healthcare that they are very pleased with and it is run by their government. It can be done. You just don’t want to……why don’t you just admit it?

  120. The Republic of Stupidity says:

Except to call yourself Liberal Hater! No, not calling anyone names. Your taking the hi ground. Yep. Your going to convince some Liberals that McCain is somehow better.

You hate me! Typical Republican. “I hate you, btw my guy if perfect and your guy is (fill in the blank)”! Do any Republican’s actually think?

How come, if you do the thinking for yourself, do you echo the Fox pundits? Just because they say it, doesn’t make it reality.

    I really like this one:

“Firstly, it looks like even the NYT cannot deny the correlation between lower taxes (menaing more money in your pocket) and increased economic activity; it’s really hard to spend money you don’t have unless you borrow it.”

And Obama’s plan is too tax the rich (that’s the top 5% of the population) so that the middle class and poor (that’s 95% of the population) can receive lower taxes.

So, you believe that if you tax the rich, they will stop spending?

  122. dbadass says:

    LiberalHater:
As a libertarian (I am still unsure which type). I suppose you would like to see the government get out of the way of such things as assisted suicide, abortion, recreational drug use, and all things sexual. Am I correct? Also might you share your thoughts as to why they would have selected a oddball like Barr who with the exception of being one of those cheap pricks unwilling to cough up a few tax dollars to support a complex society has no record of libertarian thought whatsoever. Thanks. Also didn’t you think the Browns up there in Nh and all those other weird militant antitax kooks are out of their kooky minds?

  123. alpuz3 says:

…and, not that it really matters, I’m guessing. It’s Colmes.
Colmes is the “real skinny guy with the glasses” that you actually like.

Combs are for your hair and such and so…

  125. ElBruce says:

These people just don’t get it. Here’s the problem with merely noting that black people are voting in droves – that assumes they’re against you. You’re assuming blacks are your enemies.

Now there might be lots of reasons why they’re against you. Sure, they’d like to see a black guy become President. But there were plenty of women who voted against Hillary in the primary, who might have liked to see a woman become President, so that can’t entirely be it.

The real reason they’re against you is that your party has been against them for decades. Yeah, there have been some superficial attempts to reach out to minorities, particularly in 2000. But there wasn’t any policy to back the words. In fact, the policies of the Republican party specifically disenfranchise and exclude minority voters and your politics pretty much blame them for everything. Wall Street crash? Uppity black folks thought they could own homes, that’s what did it. Declining wages? Must be illegal immigrants from Mexico.

Your party has never thought of minorities as a potential part of its constituency – people whose interests it sought to represent. There’s only one rule that explains the policies and philosophy of the Republican party, and that’s “whatever the rich want.” You don’t represent anybody else, you rather manipulate them into voting against their interests and in the interests of the plutocracy.

That’s ending with this election, and unless the RP comes up with an actual bedrock philosophy, instead of some fancy packaging for why rich folk should get whatever they want, it’s going to end too. Economic conservatism is nothing more than moral evil – mere greed – packaged to look like a political philosophy. You’re going to have to do better, because right now the RP looks pretty much like one of those wackjob third parties that everyone ignores every cycle.

Black vs. White in elections is also going the way of the dinosaur. When it doesn’t work this time, no political strategist worth the money will ever recommend it again, in any situation. A party that doesn’t seek to represent the interests of minority voters is never going to win a major election cycle in the 21st century.

Stick to your guns and you’re done for. If you ever want to come back, you’re going to have to invent Republicanism 2.0. I’d recommend as a starting point actually looking at what policies would look like that put some meat on past talking points, because you’ve got some pretty good phrases to recycle: “compassionate conservatism” and “ownership society” are two. Those with the general notion of maximizing economic mobility might be a good foundation to build again.

Come back and see us (the electorate) when you’re done.

I am also currently working on a minor in another field, but you can see what you are up against.
That said, I have students in my classes expressing racial and religious acrimony about the trends in the polls, strangers shouting racial hatreds at me because of a yard sign, and in general I live in a KKK loving area because racism is the highest form of ignorance and a quality these people absorb and emit with zeal. I see that zeal in yourself and it is disturbing to say the least. To further make my point, I do not hate Republicans, I am saddened by their unreasoning refusal to see that the US is becoming more broken apart by the day and a laughing stock in general to the world, that there are bigger issues than religion and race, being able to drink a beer with someone or owing someone anything because of former POW status, with respect to the service he did give to our country. With Democrats and Libertarians I see the willingness to hope, to heal the tensions between others, to do the right thing regardless of their pocketbooks, volunteer and sacrifice, and NOT shouting derogatory hatreds because of a sign, nor voter intimidation or fraud, nor outright lies and slander.

Now let me put that in the simple terms you can understand–Go to Hel*

So, it would not surprise me if they voted for Chambliss again, because he still has never served in a war, hates blacks, gays, and hate those who will provide health care to those who can’t afford it. Sharp Rise in Tax Revenue to Pare U.S. Deficit

WASHINGTON, July 12 – For the first time since President Bush took office, an unexpected leap in tax revenue is about to shrink the federal budget deficit this year, by nearly $100 billion.

On Wednesday, White House officials plan to announce that the deficit for the 2005 fiscal year, which ends in September, will be far smaller than the $427 billion they estimated in February.
