Last night, right-wing columnist Bill Kristol was Jon Stewart’s guest on “The Daily Show.” They argued over whether Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) has changed, and Kristol dismissed Stewart’s criticism by saying he was reading the New York Times too much. “Bill, you work for the New York Times!” Stewart reminded him. Watch it:
Stewart reminded Kristol, “You can’t look at past performance as a predictor, otherwise you wouldn’t be obviously still a pundit.”
Kristol only works for Kristol and the NeoCons. Nobody else matters to this AsskLown.
October 31st, 2008 at 1:33 pmWhy does William the Bloody continue to subject himself to Jon Stewart’s ridicule?
Does he really think it makes him cool?
October 31st, 2008 at 1:34 pmOoops.
Open mouth, insert size 12 loafer.
October 31st, 2008 at 1:38 pmI think we can all agree the gray lady has gone seriously downhill since they hired Bill.
October 31st, 2008 at 1:39 pmthe conservatives are
tripping all over themselves.

October 31st, 2008 at 1:41 pmGotta guess that next year Stewart won’t be able to use that line. The Times must have some limits on how many retractions a columnist can have in a year before pulling the plug.
October 31st, 2008 at 1:41 pmBREAKING NEWS…
Tony Blair rats out Bush, and other criminals.

Gee Billy your a funny guy for someone whose ideological agenda is directly responsible for the deaths of millions .

Kristol will serve no purpose for the NYT after next Monday. The neoconservatives are about to be woken from an eight year wet dream. Maybe Dick Cheney will hire him as one of his house boys in Dubai after next January. He WILL have to submit his resume and references though. I here that Jeff Gannon is also vyeing for the job along with Wolfowitz, Rummy and Addington. George has also had his tailor working on a french maid outfit for good old Condie for his retreat in Paraguay.
October 31st, 2008 at 1:42 pmBrooklyn was there an article with that?

I thought that the Washington Post was the ‘gray lady’.
Anyhoo, if you meant the NYT, you can include Judy Miller.

October 31st, 2008 at 1:47 pmHi Trajan. Where ya been? That Ted Stevens verdict must have gotten you down, huh?
October 31st, 2008 at 1:49 pm“You can’t look at past performance as a predictor, otherwise you wouldn’t be obviously still a pundit.”
Smack!
Although I have to say, Kristol was never a “pundit”.
Call him a water carrier, crony, propagandist, shameless tool, Bushbot… but never a pundit.
October 31st, 2008 at 1:49 pmI thought that the Washington Post was the ‘gray lady’.
Sorry fletch, my bad, the gray lady is the NYT.

October 31st, 2008 at 1:51 pmHow do pundits like Billy Krystology who’s been wrong 100% of the time, still get on TV to spout their inanity? I thought this was the ‘liburl’ media??
October 31st, 2008 at 1:56 pmTo be fair, Kristol did immediately tell Stewart that he set him up for that. But then he followed it with, “It’s a good paper one day a week.”
TP – When the NYT fires Kristol for that, will you let us know immediately?
October 31st, 2008 at 1:58 pmWhy is Stewart the one that asks the obvious questions and makes the crucial points while Brokaw and Tweety and the rest keep sipping the kool-aid.
BTW, kudos to Rachel Maddow for her interview with Barack Obama.

Which needed to be followed with “which one of the days your column is not published would that be?”

That’s it exactly, ralph. He really does think he’s just part of the gang, laughing along with Jon.

October 31st, 2008 at 2:21 pmWhat must it be like to go through life not believing one single thing you say, ever? I almost feel sorry for William Kristol.

Jesters have always been the ones with the unique ability to speak truth to power.
October 31st, 2008 at 2:23 pmJon Stewart asks William Kristol:
October 31st, 2008 at 2:28 pmSo tell me Bill, have ever written an article for the NYT
It would seem as you must have because your logic clearly flawed.

_______
I’d like to think it’s because Jon is one of the most skilled interviewers on television. He knows how to be ideological without being an ass – something the conservative commentators have yet to learn how to do.

October 31st, 2008 at 4:26 pmI don’t usually comment on people’s looks, but Kristol has this constant expression of someone who farted in a crowded elevator, only he leaves a bigger stink behind.
