Excellent point. I checked my tv guide for Saturday and see that there are 3 football games on network, a football game, NASCAR and PGA golf tour on ESPN’s three channels. Usual smattering of movies, etc. as well. Chances are only the die-hard conservatives are going to watch this anyway so unless there’s some criticism of McCain/Palin, no minds are going to be changed. It it were prime time, that would be another story.

McCain couldn’t afford a 30 minute infomercial, so CNN will provide him and his party a free hour on Saturday.
Obama needed that infomercial just to combat the rumors that he is a fearful and subversive alien.
CNN is feeling sorry for the defeat that the RNC (their beloved) is going to see on Tuesday, so this is their consolation prize.

It’s a good idea to take the time to read Jamison Foser’s article on The Right’s “bias” charade over at MediaMatters. It’s a long one (way too many words for trolls to manage), but it does a thorough job on the history of the “bias” charge during the 1992 election campaign, the manner in which the “bias” charge is designed to shape future media coverage (of the Obama presidency) and even stops off to visit the legitimacy of the PEJ study that goon_golly was whining about earlier today.

I’m bookmarking it for future reference whenever some troll starts up about “liberal media bias.”

I’m at a conference in New Orleans the whole week. Monday night after sessions and a quick bite, I’m going up the block to Obama HQ to make calls until they don’t need me.

Tuesday night going back for what I hope will be a celebratory gathering of like minded souls.
