Vice President Dick Cheney made a rare appearance on the campaign trail today in Wyoming. During a speech, he offered a wholehearted endorsement of John McCain and Sarah Palin:
CHENEY: I believe the right leader for this moment in history is Senator John McCain. [...] I’m delighted to support John McCain and I’m pleased that he’s chosen a running mate with executive talent, toughness and common sense, our next vice president in Sarah Palin.
Watch it:
Why didn’t he just take him hunting….?

November 1st, 2008 at 6:17 pmHannibal Lechter says what???
November 1st, 2008 at 6:17 pmWell he said that about Bush as well and we all know how poorly that turned out.
November 1st, 2008 at 6:19 pm‘I’m delighted to support John McCain’ said Darth Cheney.
Rummaging thru the pockets on his hunting vest, the soon-to-be VP pulled out a squirming, whimpering puppy. After biting off its head w/ his bare teeth, Cheney proceeded to suck the blood from its still warm body.
“Ah… that’s the stuff..” said Darth, wiping his lips w/ the back of his hand…
November 1st, 2008 at 6:20 pmHe’s got some balls. He makes Nixon look honest.
November 1st, 2008 at 6:22 pmWow. That’s like Captain Smith of the Titanic endorsing Hazelwood, the Captain Exxon Valdez!

Cheney always complained that Nixon got a raw deal. He felt that Nixon did nothing wrong and should never have been driven out of office. How this man was not arrested for lying when he took his oath of office to support and defend the Constitution is beyond me. He has never been in support of our Constitution. Never.
November 1st, 2008 at 6:25 pmThe Obama response: good for John Sidney. He’s worked hard to get Cheney’s endorsement.
November 1st, 2008 at 6:26 pm“I’m pleased that he’s chosen a running mate with executive talent, toughness and common sense, our next vice president in Sarah Palin.”
Your so funny Dick.
November 1st, 2008 at 6:27 pmGetting Darth’s endorsement is like getting a kiss from that great aunt at the family p[icnic who has no teeth and chews toobacky.
November 1st, 2008 at 6:29 pmDick loves John.
George ran his permanent campaign for eight years.
John is George, policy wise.
A pox on all their political houses.
The end can’t come soon enough….
November 1st, 2008 at 6:31 pmDang, I should’ve started with:
See Dick help John run.

November 1st, 2008 at 6:38 pmCheney’s never been good at the “up and up”. Taking those two letters out of his endorsement, we get:
“I’m delighted to sport John McCain and I’m pleased that he’s chosen a running mate with executive talent, toughness and common sense, our next vice president in Sarah Palin.
The ticket gets a five minute head start, then I come ablazing. Welcome to Cheney’s Running Man 2009!”
November 1st, 2008 at 6:41 pmCongratulations, President Obama!
November 1st, 2008 at 6:42 pmCheney: ‘I’m delighted to support John McCain.’

You are? Oh… never mind.
November 1st, 2008 at 6:44 pmSo, who will run a Bush 3rd term, again?
If you believe the lunatics, it will be the man Cheney did not endorse.
Such logic can only make sense in Wingnutland…
November 1st, 2008 at 6:45 pmO/T but a real PISSER.
The “spell check” on my Microsoft E-Mail program wants me to change “Obama” to “Osama.” I tried to complain to Microsoft and they wanted $60.00 before I could ask for a change. My solution lies somewhere under the Apple tree!
November 1st, 2008 at 6:48 pmRunning Man has as its plot:
In the year 2017, the world economy has collapsed. The great freedoms of the United States are no longer, as the once great nation has sealed off its borders and become a militarized police state, censoring all film, art, literature, and communications.
With full control over the media, the government attempts to quell the nation’s yearning for freedom by broadcasting a number of game shows on which convicted criminals fight for their lives. The most popular and sadistic of these programs is “The Running Man,” hosted by Damon Killian.
The contestants must search through the ruins for the resistance in the hopes of finally broadcasting the truth about the government
Hmmmm…
November 1st, 2008 at 6:49 pmexecutive talent, toughness and common sense
I’m sorry, I can’t really type a significant response to this…I’m laughing too hard!
November 1st, 2008 at 6:51 pmI just looked at that headline again and realized that I, too, am delighted that Cheney is supporting McCain. One of the most unpopular elected officials of our lifetime supporting the candidate?
Just… perfect… the cherry on the the GOOP’s giant sh*t sundae…
November 1st, 2008 at 6:53 pmI’m sure that McPain isn’t overly thrilled about this, aber ich glaube die Reichminister Palin ist billgt!

November 1st, 2008 at 7:01 pmDick wont be packing after all, he’ll be around to train Sarah on how to continue to have big oil companies continue to get larger profits. Now does anyone remember Dick’s poll numbers? If Americans choose the Bush/Cheney aka McCain/Palin ticket for 4 more years of the same. The Good news is the Palin Family wont have to answer for the shopping sprees at taxpayers expense. Sarah might just buy some property in Canada as she runs for a quick exit when Americans finally go completely broke. Dick better watch is back with those from other countries their not willing to take the pay offs that Law Makers are willing to turn a blind eye to Dicks crimes.

November 1st, 2008 at 7:25 pmI don’t know about that but I’ve heard they cast no reflections in a mirror .
It seems the term “mandate” is being bandied about:
http://www.mcclatchydc.com/227/story/55088.html
And exactly what will Obama’s mandate for change entail?
If he wins, he’ll have broken the back of the big money paradigm, with average donations of $86. All previous assumptions of what is, and isn’t possible will be out the window. He won’t feel the need to shovel presidential largesse to big campaign donors – in fact, he knows it will do damage to his presidency if he gets too friendly with any particular companies, or special interests, because he’ll get a deluge of citizen complaint.
The deciding factor will be the Senate. Without sixty, Leiberman will retain his chairmanship, and any legislation can still be filibustered by republicans.
The real question now, is how much of a win will it have to be, for even the hardest conservatives to acknowledge that Obama now has the American people’s approval for his policies?
November 1st, 2008 at 7:40 pmSo much for supporting relatives. Dick Cheney and Senator Obama are cousins yet Dick supports McCain.
November 1st, 2008 at 7:51 pmCheney really IS delusional about his popularity..which currently ranks somewhere above herpes but below hemmoroids..

November 1st, 2008 at 8:07 pmgood news! Emperor Cheney, the rotten old tool that he is, endorsing McNotthesameas2000McCain is like putting crap frosting on a unrinal cake. Enjoy, republicans.
November 1st, 2008 at 8:50 pmIf Cheney really wanted to help McCain, he would have endorsed Obama or stayed in his man-sized safe until next Wednesday.
By coming out of his undisclosed (and by the way, his “no one even gives a crap) location, what he really said to McCain today was simply “phuck you, dooshbag”
And for once, I’m gonna have to agree with Cheney!

November 2nd, 2008 at 8:00 aman endorsement from the vice president two days before the election? that’s not an endorsement, that’s an insult.
November 2nd, 2008 at 8:30 amIn response, the McCain campaign issued the following statement:
“In no way does the McCain campaign endorse or accept the endorsement of John McCain and Sarah Palin by Dick Cheney. Today our lawyers have filed suit in civil court against Dick Cheney for defamation of character due to his unwarranted and unsolicited endorsement. Should either McCain and/or Palin decide to accept Cheney’s endorsement, the McCain campaign will withdraw it’s endorsement of either or both candidates in order to maintain the integrity of the McCain campaign.”
