No it isnt for TWO reasons first of all the ONLY vote I waste is the one I cast for someone I dont believe in. SECOND the Democratic party often just flat IGNORES liberals like me, they take me for granted because I am just not going to vote for any Republicans. It helps send them a message and a wake up call that I DO have another alternative and they CAN lose me so they better take my issues seriously. So I completely disagree that just because my candidate isnt going to win that means my vote was wasted. I find that a very limited view of the franchise

Heres the thing Kay. You dont have to try to convince me that we basically have two wings of the business party. I am there. I voted 3rd party before and will again. Kucinich was always my guy. There ARE however differences between the parties. Yes they are marginal differences but those marginal differences in times like these can mean REAL things and real adding to or alleviating the misery of people on the margins and right now that is a whole lot of people. I am not a Dem. I am a green. It is important for us progressives to remember that sometimes the perfect can become the enemy of the good. Marginal difference CAN be the begining of REAL change. IF we get an Obama in this time and he is popular, does a good job the American people might be willing to look a little further left next time and perhaps eventually we can get to a place where a Dennis Kucinich is electable instead of a place where the press wont say anything about him except he is unelectable. I know also that if things only get marginally better it can be like a soporiphic and numb us so we dont push for REAL change. We should keep our eyes open about that but do you REALLY want to stake out an agenda of ideological purity to the extent you ignore the tactical reality? Fine. It isnt my intent to try to convince you to do anything you arent comfortable with just leave some room to understand that REAL progressives and sometimes us far lefty liberals can see this issue in different terms. The game of I am so much leftier than thou really isnt getting anything substantial done either.

Not a bad strategy if you want to break the hold of large corporations on our 2 party system .If Barrack is safe in your state a vote for a 3rd party candidate who might reach the 5% threshold would certainly change the political landscape here.

I would agree if this was any other election. But, considering the fact that the Republicans are trying desperately to poison the well with Obama, I think that even in safe states we need everyone to vote for Obama. He will need an overwhelming mandate to be able to govern without constant interference by the Republicans.

You haven’t been able to find a definitive rulebook for Whack-A-Troll™ because it doesn’t exist, yet. We’ve tried putting an Official Rules Committee together, but they just end up hopelessly drunk and roaming the streets, causing trouble.

I’m sure Ralphie will agree w/ me when I say the only rule that really matters is… “Allus get the troll, before the troll gets YOU…”.

And the 2nd most important rule would hafta be… All’s fair in love, ‘n war, ‘n especially troll-whacking.

And there’s my personal favorite… a boot to da groin allus trumps 2 pair, or 3 of a kind, fer that matter…

I mean, is there any spectacle in all of sports more exciting that the pure play of mano a trollo?

As for your children… Whack-A-Troll is a demanding disciple, and not for the faint of heart. Perhaps your offspring should actually watch a match or two. The gory sight of a troll begging for its wretched life before being ultimately dispatched by the victor just might change their minds for them.

And afterwards, if they’re still set, there are Junior Leagues out there.

You never know, dbadass… you just might have the Tiger Woods of Whack-A-Troll in your house…

One last question as I have found it a little difficult to find the definitve rulebook and whereas we have such true icons amongst us, might I ask the two of you for any advice a dad hoping to see his children take some interest in the sport might find useful? I am assuming there is some title 2 monies or is the collegiate thing coed?
