In her interview with Fox News’ Greta van Susteren last night, Gov. Sarah Palin appeared to claim that the U.S. needs to “win” the non-existent war with Iran:
We realize that more and more Americans are starting to see the light there and understand the contrast. And we talk a lot about, OK, we’re confident that we’re going to win on Tuesday, so from there, the first 100 days, how are we going to kick in the plan that will get this economy back on the right track and really shore up the strategies that we need over in Iraq and Iran to win these wars?
Watch it:
Not only that, but immediately after this statement, Greta asked Sarah about Bill Richardson saying that Obama’s tax cut would go to those under $120,000, rather than $250,000.
Sarah refused to acknowledge that Richardson misspoke. She insisted that he had revealed the truth of Obama’s plan.
Given that assessment, why should we not assume that Sarah has just revealed the truth of McCain’s ambitions?

Sorry, was Caribou Barbie saying something….?
November 1st, 2008 at 4:08 pmI just wonder if the folks in Alaska know how much of a punchline they’ve become. Even conservative pundits are calling her unqualified to be president – the same pundits who thought Bush was ok for the job.
Being rated lower than the chimp by the intelligencia on her own side, makes the Alaskans who voted for her, look like they voted for the first pretty face to stick her head inside the igloo.
Perhaps a little too much “Northern Exposure.”
November 1st, 2008 at 4:10 pmPalin: We realize that more and more Americans are starting to see the light there and understand the contrast
– - Light, contrast … what’s missing is brightness.
And where the hell was this interview? The early-bird special at a Denny’s?
November 1st, 2008 at 4:18 pmGiven that this was taped on Holloween, I’d imagine the child to be dressed in costume, but the really scary part of this interview is the content of Palin’s answers. Her haughty confidence that they will win, and her speaking about the “first hundred days” is a little more cock-suredness than “he’s measuring the drapes for the Oval Office. Perhaps she and McCain know someting about the inner workings of this election than the rest of us. Remmember the prediction that the election is rigged to give McCain a 51.4 % victory! Frightening!
November 1st, 2008 at 4:19 pmI encourage Caribou Barbie to keep on speaking. The more she does and the more she makes an utter ass of herself the more likely it will become that even Alaskans will tire of her and perhaps hold a recall election or impeach her. Quite honestly, I remain amazed with Caribou Barbie being able to breathe and talk at the same time.

She’s a parvenu, but they see her as a ’striver.’ She’s just learning how to steal, lie and cheat in the BEEG TAHM!
But she’s a larnin’, you betcha she is…

Olmert’s been out of power for weeks, and it’s nigh unlikely that Livni is pushing for war. She’s fighting for her political life and, though war would boost her with Likud, Shas, and the other right-wing parties, it’s not going to win her much allegiance in the Knesset.
Of course, that doesn’t mean OUR side isn’ itching for the fight…

we are at war with both syria and iran… the problem is that the current administration knows that it has ZERO credibility and so you get ZERO opportunity offer your dissent. or do YOU simpletons really think there are little dotted lines in the sand that prevent us from engaging “enemy combatants” in either of these nations?
the iraq war is part of a larger agenda.
this war on terrorism is bogus.
November 1st, 2008 at 5:37 pmIf this doesn’t make Republicans know they have a serious problem let’s look at VP Sarah’s statements. First she wants to bomb Russia not realizing the Russia/Georgian conflict was started by Georgia. Now she including Iran as a War. Any American who votes for Sarah as VP deserves what they get. Russia and Iran Leaders are laughing at who the US picks as Leaders. Sarah Palin is a complete embarrassment to every single American, and pray for her kids they will truely need help.

Anyone who tries to put an exact percentage on either
a) an exact margin of victory or b) the percentage by
which cheating will be able to alter that, is an idiot and
doesnt understand the first thing about election fraud.
I wouldnt pay much attention. cheating is by no means an exact science.
Is IS true that electronic voting fraud and voter supression (direct and indirect, like deliberately not having enough
November 1st, 2008 at 5:47 pmvoting machines at minority pollin places) will give the republicans an unfair advantage, but that advantage only varies from about a 3 to 6 percent margin per state…whether that states government is dem or republican is a BIG variable.
Obama looks at this point to have a cheat-proof margin in some
critical states…
also, lets remember, its only electoral votes that count..diebold could give every E-vote in texas to mccain and it still wouldnt help him win..
We’re at war with nearly every country in the world in the twisted mind of McPalin.

November 1st, 2008 at 6:07 pmChocolate Jesus,
You are absolutely correct in what you say, BUT (and there is always a “but”) the point is you should not have to say it. For the last eight years this Country has been through an ordeal specifically prohibited by our Constitution. The Constitution was designed, and has functioned for over 200 years, as a guide to HONEST AMERICANS on how to conduct the Country’s business. It is a shame that this noble Country has come to the point that all honest Citizens–just look at the pictures of the lines for EARLY voting—must rebel against the corrupt…(I am at a loss for words here because nothing in the dictionary defines the vileness, evilness, corruptness, and simply a$$holeness of George WTF and his corporate cronies. The hell with it, just add your own favorite word)______ .
January 20, 2009 will mark the day that your Country and mine again became the World of Dreams not the Grotto of Greed!
November 1st, 2008 at 6:11 pmBush promised the same thing and did not deliver, nor would McCain. In fact the Republican policies that McCain will follow will lead to more bailouts, more deficits and more spending.

November 1st, 2008 at 6:49 pmI have to admit, Palin is a bit correct when saying we’re at war with Iran. According to Seymour Hersh, we have special forces and CIA personnel in Iran right now, working with the Mujaheddin e-Khalq and other opposition/terrorist groups to destabilize the Iranian government.
Now that’s not an officially declared war or anything, but since when has this president needed that?

November 1st, 2008 at 8:00 pmSarah Palin continues to refuse to release her medical records. Why?
McCain, Obama and Biden have released their medical records, to varying degrees, but Palin adamantly refuses to divulge anything about her medical history. Why?
I doubt that there would be anything shocking healthwise, so it must be something else she is seeking to hide, something that would paint her as a hypocrite.
Maybe, that she got an abortion?
Just a guess.
But Palin is definitely hiding something from her medical past, and the only thing that makes any sense is that she probably got an abortion in the early 1980s, something that she doesn’t want anyone, especially her fanatical religious fundamentalist anti-abortion followers, finding out about.

However, the other team is a bit more intelligent and far more slippery.

This is an amalgam, but true to the spirit of the many pro-Obama missives I’ve received. They express a sentiment that is very widespread, so much so that it doesn’t seem to matter, much, what Obama says he’s going to do, because, in any case, his fans and supporters will simply insist on projecting their own hopes, desires, and views onto him.
Good luck after Tuesday….We are going to need it.
November 2nd, 2008 at 10:27 amPalin in 2012? Some people are giving her too much credit. True, she is a moderately savvy politician, but she also is blissfully ignorant about the inner-workings of anything beyond the borders of Alaska.
She has the faux folksy charm and lack of intellectual curiosity of George W. Bush and the Machiavellian mindset of Dick Cheney. Do we really want to relive the nightmare of the past 8 years?
Palin does have a skill set that lends itself to a fairly fruitful career in news broadcasting–specifically, she would be great at delivering the weather forecast for a local Alaskan TV station. “Today, Anchorage…….it will be COLD. (Brrrrrrrrr!) Tomorrow, it will be COLDER, doggone it. (Brrrrrrrrrrr!) Back to you, Frank.”
