I think that whichever candidate wins this election, global poverty needs to be one of the top issues on the agenda that he has. According to The Borgen Project:
$30 billion: Annual shortfall to end world hunger.
$540 billion: Annual U.S. Defense Budget.

BUT they DO deserve blame for 9/11 since they had ample warning that something was coming and also, the method of delivery.

If the Bush II Administration has thwarted a single major terrorist attack on the U.S. since 9/11, they need to prove it. Let’s see the documented record of attacks thwarted and plans foiled. The Repubs should be eager to share the story of their triumphs. Meanwhile, world terrorism has tripled under their watch.

It really boils my blood when politicians and especially the media forget about the anthrax attacks post 9/11. That was a terrorist attack, no way around it. I was in the U.S. from Oct 11-16, 2001, and I remember the panic and terror very well, day after day after day. I’ve heard others suggest it wasn’t really the same as 9/11, and of course it wasn’t, but the anthrax attacks cost over $1B in total damages, not to mention responding to fake copy cats. The country was terrorized by the anthrax attacks, they happened after 9/11, and they were the second major terrorist attack during Bush’s tenure. That’s a simple fact.
