Bush: Out of sight, out of mind.

By Amanda Terkel on Nov 4th, 2008 at 3:40 pm

Bush: Out of sight, out of mind.

The AP reports:

whbar.jpg The quietest place in Washington today may have been the White House itself.

The president voted absentee several days ago, so there was no video of him at his precinct, no statements to reporters, no public appearance whatsoever.

Bush planned to spend his evening in the White House residence, watching TV coverage of election results and hosting a small dinner with his wife.

There was sure to be at least some celebrating — today is the first lady’s birthday. Otherwise, it was a day when the White House purposely went dark.

For a minute I thought is said, “Bush, out of his mind.”

  2. Gregor Samsa says:

We are all witnessing -at a long last- the waning days of the most unpopular, worst presidency ever.

  3. Abu Ben Hussein Leporello says:

Bush vanishes from the pages of history, Obama vaults into the pages of history, now There’s Justice! And the Bush Legacy all rolled into one!
    Impeach, while There’s Still Time!!!!!

Bush vanishes from the pages of history,

    No. We must never forget.

  5. Shayne says:

He ought to be hiding out. In any other country he’d already have been “removed” from office.

  6. DwH says:

    Sounds positively Nixonesque!

  7. the Lone Voice of Reason says:

They’re keeping him busy, the got him a Magic School Bus CD Rom.

“Bush planned to spend his evening in the White House residence, watching TV coverage of election results and hosting a small dinner with his wife.”

“Well Pickles, how did you like the dinner?”
“Very nice George, you make a great gin and tonic, can I have another?”
“In a little bit, remember to pace yourself, we’ve got two nights of election coverage to watch, 2000 and 2004!”

  9. Marie says:

What a birthday present for Pickles — a Democratic victory by Barack Obama as her husband, George the Worst, is practically chased out of office.

  10. freeman says:

If he isn’t out of his mind he’ll stay out of sight in Paraquay .

  11. jakedogman says:

Bush left his mark or I should say stain on history. A giant skid mark. Will Turd Blossom join them?

  12. Bob says:

He might as well start packing, but someone needs to keep an eye on him. He’ll probably try to steal anything and everything not nailed down

  13. krazeeinjun says:

A vision of Dubya, in Cheney’s undisclosed bunker, curled up in a fetal position in the corner of the room wailing over and over, “Unka Dick, why doesn’t anybody love me anymore??”

    Just saying . . .

  14. Chuck Feney says:

I’m still pondering the absence of an Usama bin Laden tape to boost the Republican’s campaign.

1 Were said tapes solely manufactured for Bush’s advantage?
2 Does McCain not want to walk into Bush’s messes?
3 Is Usama’s voting for change this time?

  15. ralph the wonder llama says:

Sounds like BushCo has gone into mourning, seeing as there’s still money left in this nation that they haven’t been able to loot, and their time’s almost up.

  16. AmandaBlow says:

That idiot owes America his chopped head! Middle class America, it’s time to unite and collect!

  20. Taguba says:

I wonder if KKKarl is going to catch any heat for ruining the Republican party tonight on Faux “News” ?? the architect turned out to be the destroyer. can we find all those videos of Rove and his cronies crowing about the end of the Democrats and how their policies would take us into total GOP rule.

  21. MapleStreet says:

May Bush have many a midnight dreary with a Raven quoting “Nevermore !”

    Preferably in the Hague

  22. Nevar says:

May he lie awake listening to a rhythm thumping coming from his cellar…

  24. misshusseinmolly says:

Dubya is probably relieved that the finish line is in sight. He only needs to stay invisible for a little while longer.

  30. Joe Sixpack says:

Out of sight, maybe, but not out of mind. McSame’s people would point out that Obama has effectively tied Bush around McSame’s neck.

And how fitting. McSame wanted to ride Bush’s coattails and for once he got his wish.

  31. Zimzone says:

…it was a day when the White House purposely went dark.

The Dark Force has occupied the White House for 8 years now.

It’s been dark for a purpose. That purpose was not an American value. That purpose was to privatize profits & socialize losses.

Good riddance, W. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

  32. the Lone Voice of Reason says:

“it was a day when the White House purposely went dark.”

BS-it went purposely dark the day Cheney took his oath of office.

  33. Buckie Boy says:

The War Criminal wrote in his own name for President, being a dictator and all.

  34. Shayne says:

Somebody should be confiscating passports. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld …

  35. GeorgeM says:

IF the repugnicans don’t steal this election, which I expect they will, Mr. Obama will have quite the time transforming the current Shite House back into something less despicable and vile.

But one wonders where that sleazy liar, thief and murderer Dick Cheney is hiding now?

I hope Pelosi LOSES so maybe we can have some arrest warrants issued for the many and nefarious members of this criminal regime. But then I also wish for things like single payer healthcare.

Silly. Even if Obama wins, and even IF he wanted to do such good things (which he doesn’t really so I’m not that damned enhtusiastic about him), he will be unable to do much for the necessity of cleaning up the horrific criminal mess left behind by the spawn of GHW and that hideous harridan, Babs.

May they live their remaining days in horrific shame and disgust at their pathetic, dismal, wretched criminal son.

  36. CB_Brooklyn says:

According to this report, Bush went AWOL after under house arrest by US Delta Force:

  37. Tired of being lied to says:

Me thinks he still schemes in the dark. Watch for one last push of power and proof that, at least in his own mind, he is not yet ‘irrelevant.’

Look for new rules to dismantle even more regulations, late appointments, and possibly pardons, in these last 77 days.

I don’t trust him, even if he is slinking around the White House in the dark in his boxers.

(And be sure to count the White House silverware before he leaves.)

  38. WaltTheMan says:

Shouldn’t the title of this post be:
Bush: Out of sight, out of his mind.

  39. Chuck Feney says:

It may have taken Bushie 8 years, but he has become “the Uniter.”

  40. crimsonblu says:

(George, with his head hunched between his shoulders, both arms upraised, double peace sign):

“I am not a George Bush!”

  42. CruzBustamove says:

Isn’t there some brush that needs clearing?

  43. Max-1 says:

    .

Nice picture, however I prefer not to see the White House behind bars but instead, that squatter who’s been pResiding from it behind bars!

    .

  44. sacopenapa says:

Bush must be feeling sooooo sad to watch a guy actually winning an election instead stealling it!
    Bush/Chenney HAGUE 2009!

  45. stateofthedivision says:

The White House website posted nothing after November 1, Bush’s radio address. They didn’t publish until this morning, four days later (November 5).
