This evening on Fox News, host Brit Hume commented, “It has been conventional wisdom for some time, and I certainly thought it was true, that this is a center right country.” He then asked fellow Fox News pundit Nina Easton whether this election mean we are possibly a “center left country.” Easton responded, “I think there’s a real possibility of that, and partly because the nature of the use of government has changed so dramatically over the past year, two years.” Watch it:
Conservatives, fearful that a progressive tide is coming, have been trying to push the claim in recent weeks that “this is a center-right country.” (Watch this video.) As David Sirota has explained, this propagandistic talking point is pure myth.
And just WTF does John Bolton know about the “basic core values of the country”?
November 4th, 2008 at 9:42 pmAbsolutley nothing, Jane!
Ain’t it a grand evening?
November 4th, 2008 at 9:47 pmJohn Bolton wouldn’t recognize the core values of this country if they bit him in the a$$.
November 4th, 2008 at 9:52 pmFox, Bolton get the mccain response, “Blah, blah, blah.”
November 4th, 2008 at 9:53 pmAll that blue on the tv screen is heartwarming.
November 4th, 2008 at 9:53 pmSure is, SKdeA! (insert shit-eating grin here!)
Screw John Bolton, gimme Jon Stewart. :D
November 4th, 2008 at 10:07 pmFox has been using chronological heuristic election maps all nite as if to illustrate our Nation’s overall trend toward the left, yet they haven’t yet mentioned or noticed the trend which keeps looping in the background, THE SPREADING OF BLUE ACROSS THE NATIONAL ELECTION MAP, which has been predominately red for decades.
November 4th, 2008 at 10:21 pmThe ‘center-right’ folks day’s in the sun are over. They’re just too blinded by their own propaganda to realize it. America was founded by Liberals and always works best when it’s run by Liberals. My faith in America and it’s future is being restored tonight after 8 long years of Republican incompetence and cronyism. Good riddance, a new day is born in my nation and I am damn proud to be an American today.
November 4th, 2008 at 10:54 pmNina Easton is kinda hot, very smart yet so completely frickin’ clueless.

November 4th, 2008 at 11:16 pmAndrew Sullivan Is A Fraud
Wow, in just 8 hours America has gone from a Fox Pundit identified center of right county to a center of left country that has elected the most liberal person to ever walk the face of the earth !!!!!
November 4th, 2008 at 11:53 pmNo shit, Sherlock!
November 5th, 2008 at 12:30 am“I don’t think so at all. We have a center-right country, and now we can be more right than center, and I think it’s moved a little to the center from the right, but we’re definitely going to have a center-left Washington.”

anybody want to take a crack
at translating that?

November 5th, 2008 at 12:42 amIt doesn’t matter if you call America a duck wearing loafers. The electorate decides the direction of this country. You can brand or label it all you want, but what’s going to happen is based on the mandate delivered tonight.
You can either start to report reality to your viewers so they can form their opinions, or you can continue to report your opinion to viewers to try to create their reality. One is a respected profession. The other is the oldest.
November 5th, 2008 at 2:23 amI do not how center left of center the US has become when 4 anti-gays initiatives passed in all the states that had them on the ballot. Now farm animals have more rights than Gays in California. Children in foster care get to rot instead of going to gay households in Arkansas. Oh the joy of mob rule! Lets vote on everything. I want to vote on all the idiots who have been married 2-5 times, murders and rapists in prison who can marry whom they want, and lets not forget the 50% divorce rate. Yes America has truly turned left of center….NOT!
November 5th, 2008 at 4:51 amThe slow rise and rapid fall of the Right in America hinge on the right-wing delusion that everyone thinks the way they do.
The stats make it very clear that conservatives in the U.S. are a creepy minority of white males. In poll after poll, Americans want more government regulation, more environmental protection, more government intervention, more gun control, bigger government, etc.–the whole liberal-progressive bit.
But it displeases our winger friends to face such facts, so they project the belief that everyone else agrees with them. They believe they represent America, even when the opposite is true. When they gripe about liberals, they make it sound like just a couple of people are disagreeing with them, rather than 60-80% of the nation. Such is the power of right-wing delusional thinking–enhanced by a political system that is unbelievably rigged in their favor.

Fox News Pundits & talking heads sound like Rumsfeld at quarterback – known unknowns, center right, center left, hut hut hut!
November 5th, 2008 at 6:38 amFred Barnes was even more pitiful than usual last night – if that’s possible.
I thought he was going to hyperventilate.
November 5th, 2008 at 8:10 amJOHN BOLTON!
November 5th, 2008 at 10:31 amWhat a frigging laugh! Why even quote him? He is a disgrace.
Is that a tatoo on her head that says ‘Inflate to 32 PSI’?
November 5th, 2008 at 10:46 amShorter Fox News mission statement:
November 5th, 2008 at 2:26 pmIf Obama gets the nomination, you’ll be sorry.
If Obama gets momentum, you’ll be sorry.
If Obama gets the Presidency, you’ll be sorry.
Our threats didn’t work?
S***
OK, Obama better run the country like we say he ought to, or you’ll be sorry.
