During a press conference this morning, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said John McCain was “gracious” and “a great patriot,” while Barack Obama was “inspirational” and “will continue to be.” A jubilant Rice added that she was proud of her country – “it continues to surprise…it continues to beat all odds and expectations.” She concluded, “On a personal note, as an African-American, I’m especially proud.” Watch it:
Rice never openly endorsed McCain during the campaign (Secretaries of State traditionally do not engage in partisan conduct). And she offered a less-than-hearty praise for Sarah Palin during the campaign. (HT: Raw Replay)
So, just who did Condi Bush support?
November 5th, 2008 at 1:10 pmHmmm…I wonder who Rice voted for in the privacy of the voting booth?
November 5th, 2008 at 1:12 pmShe’s still kindasleazy…err condoleeza. Don’t forget that this woman is the Elizabeth Bathory of the Bush admin.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:12 pmMaybe Condi can be in Obama’s administration.
A White House docent, maybe?
November 5th, 2008 at 1:14 pmLet’s just take a moment and appreciate the fact that this is a big deal for all Americans. That was a gracious moment from somebody that we’ve come to expect to opposite. Very nice words.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:15 pmGraciousness is losing doesn’t excuse their hubris when winning, She is and will always be Kindasleezy Rice
November 5th, 2008 at 1:18 pmCan we stop torturing now?
November 5th, 2008 at 1:19 pmI agree, shawnfassett. I am sure that she is well aware of the many people who died fighting to make this day possible. The day was too long in coming, but it is finally here, and for that, we can celebrate.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:19 pmCondi also said:
America continues to renew itself
From eight years of heavy handed, greed inspired Bush rule.

November 5th, 2008 at 1:19 pm
Too bad someone like Condiliesalot was someone that made this day a lot harder to achieve …………
She’s still a piece of shit.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:23 pmThe Borgen Project has some good info on the cost of addressing global poverty.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:24 pm$30 billion: Annual shortfall to end world hunger.
$540 billion: Annual U.S. Defense Budget.”
Nice try, but you can’t stay on as Sec of State, Condi…

November 5th, 2008 at 1:26 pmShe just hopes to get a new job. She is still a part of the neocon machine and a tool who aided in 8 years of destroying America.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:31 pmHow terribly irrelevant to the thread. Also food subsidies tend to destroy local economies and are a short-term fix at best.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:31 pmBTW — GOODBYE Condi. This is NOT about race, you dipsh!t. Go help Bush (”My husband”) on his ranch clearin’ brush.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:32 pmAs Krugman says of Cheney, Condi is a monster too and must be tried for her crimes against our nation.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:32 pmThank you for your input, miss rice.
Now–please–go away.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:34 pmAnd, at the same time, ashamed of who she has supported the last 8 years.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:34 pmIsn’t it great, Condi? And isn’t it sad that your goods are damaged beyond all redemption?
November 5th, 2008 at 1:37 pmShorter Condi: “Please don’t send me to jail…”
November 5th, 2008 at 1:38 pmMaybe Condi can get a job in Anchorage babysitting for She Who Shall Remain Nameless — you know, the mother of Track, and Piper, and Zipper, and Motorhead, and Frickinfrack, and Binderclip and…
November 5th, 2008 at 1:41 pmShe learned what should be called the Colin Powell lesson: Just because the Republicans invite you in and have you sit by the door does not mean that they’re your friends.
They’ll give you the demeaning jobs and hang you out to dry.
I think the truth of the matter is that after 8 years, we still have no idea whether Condi is competent or not. She was very little more than Dick Cheney’s press secretary.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:41 pmSo?
November 5th, 2008 at 1:41 pmI wish I had a dollar for every African American Republican is now proud of Obama’s accomplishments. Spare us.

November 5th, 2008 at 1:46 pm
_______
That’d get you, what, a Big Mac and a large fries? You might even have enough for a Coke but I wouldn’t push it.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:50 pmWith McCain’s concession speech, Bush vowing full cooperation with transition, and now Condi saying she is especially proud, think kind of reminds of the story of Napoleon’s return to France after his defeat in Russia. The closer he got to home, the nicer the press talked about him.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:50 pmThat’s nice, but she still has bush cooties.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:53 pmI’m hoping that Condi is NOT “especially proud” of her role in the Bush administration.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:58 pmOK, I get that Ms. Rice may be trying to rehab her image.
But dare I say that the only path she has to a true rehabilitation involves turning State’s Evidence ?
November 5th, 2008 at 2:25 pmEnough about Condi Rice, where’s Dick Cheney?
Oh that’s right, the sun is still out!
November 5th, 2008 at 2:31 pmAw, it’s even nice for people I hate.
November 5th, 2008 at 3:00 pmThe War Criminal Rice is a disgrace for the USA. She should be arrested for War Crimes and Crimes against humanity and stop to pretent she is happy for Obama’s winning the election. I want to see the animal, Rice, facing an international tribunal and executed for her crimes and the crimes of the administration she was part of. (Gee, it feels so good to say: …she WAS part of!)
November 5th, 2008 at 3:13 pmCondi Rice participated and chaired secreet meeting in the WH to formulate the USA’s torture program. She is a WAR CRIMINAL and a lier! She lied to the USA and to the World about Iraq’s WMD.
November 5th, 2008 at 3:16 pmCondalizzard Rice is OFFICIALLY irrelevant Oh happy day.
November 5th, 2008 at 3:24 pmWhoop-di-frikkin-doo.
November 5th, 2008 at 3:32 pmNice to see Connie is black again. It comes and goes with her on an add needed bases. Yes she watched blacks beg for help during the Katrina storm and looked away with no problem. Thousands of blacks/whites died as Connie Rice went shopping in New York for shoes, yes she stopped to look at the picture in Times Square of those victims yell, and beg for hell from our Govenment. Bush told Connie to use the story of the three girls she knew that were burned in the bombing of the Church by the KKK. Yes the race card comes handly for Connie but now we know she is so far up the Bush Family we can’t fine her.
November 5th, 2008 at 4:23 pmMy friend R overheard two ladies , checking her out as she entered the Treasury Dept. where she works – “Oh no, she’s much prettier than Condi.”
November 5th, 2008 at 6:16 pmI love that…
Sorry Miz Rice, all your proud feelings will not do much to keep you warm in you jail cell.
