Then you are an idiot. Obama said MANY times in his speeches what he was going to do. In his acceptance speech for the Democratic nomination alone he made clear what he would do specifically. 1. Conservatives aren’t going away. In fact, more than a few of the Republicans in Congress and the Senate who lost were RINO’s, NOT true conservatives. True conservatives never were thrilled with John McCain in the first place. The Republicans who will greet the new President are going to be a lot tougher than the RINO’s.

I fully believe that most of the people who voted for Obama have no earthly idea WHAT he stands for, what he will do, who his long-time associates are, etc. etc. That’s O.K., a lot of them will wake up eventually.

Our country is in peril and will be facing some of the most daunting challenges we have ever faced in the near future. As far back as his speech at the 2004 Democratic Convention, when I hadn’t ever heard of this guy, I was inspired by the words, yes words, that he spoke and continued to speak on such a consistent basis that were actually resonating with my own thoughts…

The more I heard about him, as far as turning down high-powered Wall St jobs to become a Community Orgnanizer to his early stance on the war that exactly matched mine, I could tell that he was my candidate. He is the first true Presidential candidate of my Generation where I didn’t have to compromise my beliefs (so much) to support him and I could see the well thought out reasons for the differences that I did have to compromise on.

I had never volunteered for anything in my entire life, but I volunteered for his campaign almost a year ago to help with the primaries. When I saw that others clost to my situation were being inspired to do the same I knew that this candidate was something special.

If this guy could inspire me to spend my time like I did, then he may just be the right guy to inspire our Nation as a whole to confront our oncoming challenges (ending 2 wars, avoiding the next economic Depression, global climate change and other things that may be yet unseen).

If you ever really listen, Obama repeats often that this isn’t about him, it’s about us. I don’t think it’s just rhetoric because he seems smart enough to know what it’s going to take to turn this country around and he can’t do it alone. It would be ridiculous for anyone to think so.

Sure, unless you’re psychic, you never know exactly what you’re going to get, but I’m more than willing to take that chance… and, thankfully, so is most of America.
