An argument to ponder:
For those who defend the US’s capacity to cross international borders without permission so as to smoke out “THE BAD GUY”, are you not proposing that other countries should be allowed to do the same and cross US borders, without permission and bomb our cities and towns, just to smoke out “THE BAD GUY”?

Well yes and no. I am certainly not supportive of the US demanding other countries comply to standards we would never accept for ourselves. That kind of moral inconsistancy is pure hypocrisy. On the other hand we HAVE a functional justice system and other than the CIA other countries arent threatened by US criminals. Also we arent talking about going into Britian or Germany to GET the bad guys because they are also strong enough to control the bad elements in their societies. What I THINK we should do is make treaties with countries that CANNOT control the dangerous elements within their borders and have international strike forces that would accomplish things like GETTING a Ben Laden. This would be in their best interest as those elements are dangerous to THEIR soveriegnity also AND it would lessen the chance of being invaded by more powerful countries because of the actions OF those elements. I hear what you are saying and its a good and often overlooked point. I dont think in THIS PARTICULAR CASE it is quite that simple

I think that the recruiter is using the Obama win for a great purpose. Putting out the word that now would be a great time for anyone to join the military….they won’t have to be deployed anywhere or really have to do much of anything.

Except that is dishonest. It will take probably a couple of years to draw down the forces in Iraq and Afghanistan will be a longer campaign. We should ALL hope that peace breaks out and we dont NEED to deploy our military anywhere. Peace is a GOOD thing unless you are an unrepentant warmonger but it isnt here YET. Perhaps Obama can accomplish with diplomacy what Bush was unable to accomplish with stupidity and rash policies. We will see. That will be a good day if it happens. Lets be optimistic

What matters is Bin Laden has never been captured. When it was pointed out that the master mind behind 9/11 (Bin Laden) is still freea was recently pointed out to Bush press secretary Dana Peroxide she disagreed naming some other Al Qaida member who was recently killed as the real mastermind.
