I agree completely that the way to all but guaraNTEE an Obama second term is by having Palin as an opponent. Hell, the only way he'd NOT be elected in that situation is if he refused to run.

But on a serious note...why? Why on earth would any Republican WANT her to run? Apart from the fact Barack could win even if he vacationed instead of campaigning. It makes no sense. She's demonstrated herself to be an idiot, a liar, corrupt, theiving...and that's before one debates the potential nuttiness of some of her beleifs.

There are intelligent Reublicans. There are intelligent Christians. As much as one may disagree with them at times, they're still sane, decent people. What it is the genetic flaw that forces them to willingly abandon all good sense and rationality and have ANY support for this nitwit at all, espeically now, when it's not a semi-required by-product of supporting McCain?

Joe Lieberman

Seriously.

"Mc Cain had NO chance of winning UNTIL Sarah was selected and whether you libs want to a dmit it or not, they would have won had it not been for the economy!"

Ok, the way I read this post is that the Republicans would have won big time if it were for the facts.

Sounds about right for the wingnuts from neocon fantasyland.

As a candidate Obama swore to filibuster any FISA bill with retroactive immunity ,. Upon becoming the nominee he immediately reversed his position .
Is this what we can expect from him as president ?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I do not recall Barack Obama swearing that he would filibuster any FISA bill containing retroactive immunity. I recall him changing his position on the FISA bill but never claiming filibustering.

I was out drinking with Political Science professors last night, of all things, and one of them is a pollster. When I mentioned this poll, they found it hysterical. According to the pollster, at this time in 2004, the most likely candidate for president in 2008 according to polls of Democrats?

Joe Lieberman

I think Sen. McCain had two impossible and conflicting tasks, in his bid for the Presidency.

He had to shore up his base , which was lukewarm and skeptical, UNTIL he nominated Gov. Palin. The fact that the polls showed McCain TIED with Obama after the conventions, showed me that she did , in fact,
Secure and Energize the Pro-life, pro-gun, Evangelical base for the McCain/Palin ticket.

Sen. McCain's second task was to convince Moderates and Independents that he was NOT George Bush, and that his election would be a CHANGE from the Unpopular Bush Policies.
McCain hoped that Gov. Palin would bolster his Maverick persona, but she did just the opposite.

She instead reminded voters of the Intelectually challenged and Ideologically Partisan President Bush.

Support Palin in 2012? This makes me even more convinced that republicans share a common flaw. Going forward this flaw will make them more susceptible to defeat.

As we have learned from the 2008 presidential election, Americans have jettisoned the GOP and the neocons. We are tired of their dirty tricks, their support of the rich and their contempt for average (income) Americans. We are tired of their fear mongering, their blind support for each other, their manipulation of the devoutly religious and their group-think.

Republicans share a trait shared by ants. A single ant is not very scary or formidable. However, put a large number of them together and you have something to worry about. A few of them have learned that most repubicans are followers; they need a leader and they desire to be followers - it is easier this way.

Republicans are also like a football team of less gifted athletes who, because of their coordination, can hold their own against most opponents. But, when faced with a less organized team of gifted athletes, are trampled because the talented athletes are too smart and too capable, sending the republican athletes into disarray and to the showers with a huge and embarrassing defeat.

In short, repubs rely on the organization provided by those out for personal gain and cannot adjust - they just keep doing the same old stupid shit. To them I say, keep it up.

I think freeman is a concern Troll. Only posts negative things about our President-Elect that have nothing to do with the Topic.
