Sarah Palin stopped tonight to answer a few questions from the Alaskan press in an attempt to dispel some of the recent damaging media reports about her involvement in the McCain campaign. “I know that I know that I know that there was nothing done wrong in the campaign,” she said. Palin complained that the other 49 states “aren’t quite there” like Alaska because they don’t allow the same “equal opportunities and equal treatment.” She then argued that, while has been some “fairness and objectivity” by some in the media, “there have been some stinkers.” Watch Keith Olbermann’s report:
Defending the purchase of her fancy, expensive clothes during the campaign, she claimed, “I never asked for anything more than maybe a Diet Dr. Pepper once in a while.”
Yea right, a Diet Dr. Pepper inside a Louis Vuitton 3 pc suit.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
November 7th, 2008 at 9:30 pmIf Alaska is the land of equal treatment and opportunity – what does that mean about what she said to the african american that remarked the he was the only black person there (and Palin said she understood as Todd had so much discrimination because he was an eskimo )

Dr. Pepper.. lol No mention about looting the RNC funds on the donors’ dime and using the aides’ credit cards on a shopping spree to Saks Fifth Avenue and Needless Markups (Neiman Marcus) for clothes for herself and family and yet play the sexist card by blaming the media.
Memo to Sarah: Remember Hillary Clinton and the criticism that she endured by the media? Nice try for seeking sympathy Sarah.
Sarah is certainly a piece of work. I hope this is the last of Sarracuda on airtime. No more air time for this twit.

In all fairness to Princess Wasilla, she hadn’t yet learned to read during Watergate. After all, she was only 10.
Based on how she shlepped those school-aged kids around for the past 10 weeks, I doubt they’re readers yet, either.
Listening to her whine about the meanies in the press makes me want to slap the crap out of her. Can’t wait until those receipts, and the tell-all books, are available!

November 7th, 2008 at 10:21 pmSorry friend but some times one has to do what one has to do . I actually voted for Obama his sign still sits in my front yard and I still cherish the hope I am mistaken .
November 7th, 2008 at 10:22 pmOf course I also hoped it would turn out I was mistaken about everything bushco was quilty of .I wasn’t.
If you care too , just put my name in the little search bar and read away . Obama gets no more a free pass with me than Bush did .

This appointment is the first thing that obama has done that I can think of as Prez. elect and real news hot off the presses .
Freeman, I know you have been posting here for quite some time and you are not a troll. It’s just that most people are still p-o’ed about the religious dimbulbs trying to throw the snowbilly into the political arena and thinking they could get away with it and their false smear campaigns against Obama.
Also, I actually got that nasty cd noted in your above link in my mail and it really ticked me off. I feel that we should not be wrapping ourselves so tight with Israel that we can not see any faults with their policies or ours, either, but I also have a close Muslim friend who hates being blamed for extremism just because of his religion. The hating of others for their religious beliefs must end, but the tolerance for the extremism in all religions must as well.
Keep posting and ignore the jibes

November 7th, 2008 at 11:05 pmThanx bro .
I recall when harry Reid first attempted to pass FISA with retroactive immunity , he was hammered so hard on the internet , in his mail box and on his phone lines that he subsequently withdrew the bill from the floor of the senate .
I hope that Obama remembers he asked us to keep him honest .
I could well be wrong about Emmanuel but at this point I don’t see it .
I’m not a bro, freeman, I’m a chic, but sometimes my spouse blogs under my login so that’s ok. Maybe that’s not fair, two for one and all that. But I get your point on these appointees. I don’t know if I like having Summers on the in group, what with his “women don’t get math and science like men do” bs.
November 7th, 2008 at 11:13 pmRahm emanuel supported Israels attack on Lebanon ,and condemned amnesty international’s criticisms. Before that attack Lebanon was slotted to become the mid easts most likely democracy .Now with it’s infrastructure in tatter it decends toward civil war.

Listen the world is crying .
OOOO!!! I saw Gov. Granholm there with Obama!! I love her, naturally, since I’m from Michigan. His group really seems pretty rounded out and Obama will surely temper their advice with his own logic and reasoning.
You are right, freeman, Israel should not be getting a free ride to do whatever the heck they want anytime they want just because they think we will always back them, but then Bushco has always given them anything they wanted up to now. Maybe Obama will be able to rein them in a bit? I think the Palestinians have gotten a pretty stinky deal up to now, too. Thank goodness Mooselips and Blinky aren’t in there to be dishing more handouts.
Which reminds me, this thread was really about her stupidity.
November 7th, 2008 at 11:24 pmFreeman, I honestly understand your concern, and even share it to a certain degree. But you need to understand that, after nearly 8 long years of the Bush administration, we all want to just be able to celebrate a victory for a change. Obama doesn’t even take office until Jan. 20, 2009. Can you at least wait until we see how Obama and Rahm interact once in the White House before you make further judgements? You are assuming that he, rather than Obama, is going to be running the show. I don’t know why you would assume that, and it indicates that you don’t really have much faith in the new President-elect. Believe me, I’m no loyalist myself. If I see a betrayal, I’ll call it then.

November 7th, 2008 at 11:38 pm@freeman:
Rahm is not running the show. Obama has the final say. It is crucial that Obama be able to get through legislation in his first 100 days, it will be the most crucial time of his presidency. If he sees Rahm as someone who can keep the Democrats on point, all the better. I’m not a politically seasoned person, in fact this was the first election I’ve ever voted in. You can’t see the forest for the trees. I will reserve my judgement of his choices until I see the results of the administration’s actions.

In regard to Mr Emmanuel Let me try to remember how Jefferson put it in terms of safe guarding liberty . He said that the constitution was set up as a means to keep the lion outside the door because once failing that it would be far more difficult to hold it down and gently remove it’s claws and fangs .

Rabbi Michael Lerner, editor of Tikkun and founder of the Network of Spiritual Progressives, has the honor of being the first member of the “religious left” to lambast the new President.
Things these people have to say have no sway over my opinions.
That could or not change however. Same as my first impression of you. You do seem to have a bit of a chip on your shoulder, which makes it difficult for me to believe at this point that you do not have an ax to grind against Obama.
I will give you the benefit of the doubt for now. Are you willing to do the same? At least until President Obama actually begins his term?

November 8th, 2008 at 7:47 amI think if I moved to Alaska I’d rule, because I have seen some pretty idiotic crap coming from there (Ted Stevens et al). I don’t hate Alaska, in fact, my brother and sister-in-law moved back from there not long ago after living there for many years. But it’s a place where those who don’t fit nicely into little pegholes go to get away from stricter society rules according to them. It is a wild west kind of mentality, perfect for our little maverick but explains a lot about her.
And she does NOT want to go away. So since she whined about how the media has been treating her, I say give her a good dose of the muck that she was hurling at our president-elect and Biden. In fact, the crud she hurled at anyone who didn’t fall into her viewpoint will suffice, and let’s see her try to wink her way out of it.
November 8th, 2008 at 7:55 amPerry Logan, they do seem to have a lemming Gooper mentality in their following, but I don’t think even Utah deserves to have them all in one place.

Did your telepathy discern from the vibes in the ether that what Obama was REALLY thinking is I dont really care about all those who voted for me but those whiny snivelling conservatives that go to liberal websites to tell them what to do and how bad the people there are THOSE are the guys I am REALLY with? Is that what you are telling us? I mean what was your point again other than proving beyond a shadow of a doubt what an idiot you are?
November 8th, 2008 at 8:09 amone of us loves our country, the other loves it only if they can destroy anyone who they don’t agree with.
Damn funny coming from a republican. Have you been living in a cave these last eight years? Your tone would be believeable, for someone who hasn’t lived through the partisan polarization of the Bush years. But you now think we should all sing kumbaya, when your side no longer has political power? Where were you for the last five years? You’ve never posted here, so this Johnny-come-lately handwringing on your part is pathetic. Man up, and accept the fact that your leaders have been rejected by large margins of the electorate. You lost. There are consequences to losing. One, is to take your lumps for following a war criminal.

Exactly. Her handlers couldn’t turn the corner during the nine weeks of the presidential campaign. They didn’t make even a dent in that “cone of ignorance” where the Pentacostal Pork-barrel Princess of Wasilla lives.

November 8th, 2008 at 9:55 amDear Exit–I have TWO extremely intelligent girls, one has been taking AP courses for two years, editor of the paper, NHS, student editor for a bigger city’s newspaper once a month, Barack Star leader, Key Club, Exchange Student of the Month, ACT score off the charts, top 5% of all students nationally, etc. I told them to let others worry about themselves and if they can play catch up, more power to them. The littler one is following right along in her sister’s footsteps.
My girls don’t think it’s ever been a problem because I raised them to think for themselves. Have to say I think I’ve done a pretty good job, too. I just hate idiots with that mentality about women that comes from the church’s medieval mindset.
November 8th, 2008 at 10:00 amAnd my above post reflects back on my dissing Mooselips. That creature has really set the idea of intelligent women back a notch.
November 8th, 2008 at 10:04 amWhy all the hatred toward Sarah Palin? She didn’t win!! She didn’t ask to be thrown into the spotlight, she was asked by the McCain campaign. She has gone back to Alaska, but the low-lifes will not leave her alone. If I were her, I would tell all of the media idiots and kool-aid drinkers , to kiss her lily white Alaskan ASS.
It means a lot to be a gracious loser, but when you are a ungracious winner, it just shows your lack of integrity.

I thought anyone could state their opinions on here, but I guess if you don’t agree with the majority here, you get attacked and called names. This site shouldn’t be called thinkprogress, it should be called “think like I do or else”.
November 8th, 2008 at 10:34 amLone Voice – Palin and Bachmann are just two women among many, many intelligent women in politics. I was struck last night by the huge difference between S Palin and Jennifer Granholm, the governor of Michigan who was on the Larry King Show. She’s smart and articulate. I really would hate to think that Palin’s performance is how people, particularly men, will view female politicians.

Oh, yeah, Claribou is quite the shrinking violet. You apparently never saw her at one of her rallies shrieking about terrorists and socialists. She went back to Alaska reluctantly, and even tried to get in a speech before McCain’s concession speech Tuesday night. She will be throwing herself into the spotlight as frequently as she possibly can.
You really need to start paying attention.
November 8th, 2008 at 10:38 amsmithy,
You should be ashamed of Palin, not proud.
This shows ignorance on your behalf.
She CAMPAIGNED to be McCain’s choice, she asked for it.
You’re both stupid to think that she doesn’t deserve scrutiny.
If she didn’t want the spotlight on her, she should have stayed home, mmmkay????

This is why you won’t be taken seriously here.
November 8th, 2008 at 10:43 am“there have been some stinkers.”
Yes, indeed, Palin — you would know.
November 8th, 2008 at 10:46 amThe McCain/Palin campaign stirred a wicked pot of stew in tacitly approving personal attacks and violent comments against Obama. Bill Maher pointed out last night that even in his concession speech, when McCain mentioned “Obama” his supporters hissed and booed. In contrast, when Kerry gave his concession speech four years ago, the room was silent.
November 8th, 2008 at 10:50 amMcCain’s concession speech was gracious, but the bad seeds his campaign sowed remain fertile.
Diet Dr. Pepper = code word for “$10,000 weekly wardrobe fund”.
Sarah Palin is good for nothing except an occasional, loving slap on her cute little a**! Back to the tundra, Bible Spice!
November 8th, 2008 at 10:52 amto joe cantwell, before the election? i did not vote for obama or mccain, although if you held a gun to my head and told me i HAD to vote for one of those two, i would have voted for obama. i voted libertarian, right down the line. my candidates lost,as i knew they would. the difference between the left and the right is a slim line. they both HATE, both are ANGRY, both are UNREASONABLE. the opposite of love is not hate, both are emotions. the opposite of love is apathy, someone who doesn’t care. i can watch chris matthews, rachel maddow, and olberman, and come away saying wow!!! they made some good points, you can’t do that, you can’t watch hannitty and say wow!!! he made a good point. the reason is you are blinded by hate. sounds to me like you belong in germany, 1936, where the party rules, no matter what they do, please don’t respond, i already know what you will say, let me guess, something hateful, you can’t

Oh, that right. Just because I don’t agree with you, I am a racist. You are an idiot!!! I’ve been a democrat my whole life. My family is bi-racial, but we are not “mutts” like your leader likes to call himself. Yes, Palin deserved scrutiny, but where was the scrutiny of Obama? Where was the “acting presidential” when your leader flipped off Hillary and then flipped off McCain. There is NO way I would vote for a thug like Obama, I don’t care what color his skin is. I wasn’t really thrilled about McCain as president, but it’s over!!! Why keep attacking?
November 8th, 2008 at 10:55 ami voted libertarian, right down the line.
Whew, then we can be done with you.
You are just a waste of space, like your vote.

Wow! Dumb at it’s dumbest.
He didn’t call you a mutt, he called himself a mutt so quit your whining.
Where was all the scrutiny of Barack Obama!?! You are kidding right? Please tell me you are kidding. Barack Obama was put thru the meat grinder for 22 months. He survived 24/7 scrutiny from the press, he survived the attacks from the Clinton political machine and finally he survived the smears and despicable attacks from the McCain/Palin campaign.
You my friend are reaching desperately for straws in your deep depressive state of realizing that your hero, the bimbo from Wasilla with all of her *folksie* charm couldn’t save your pathetic, clueless, angry, old candidate.
November 8th, 2008 at 12:12 pmWow Smith, you are one confused puppy. Why don’t you read your previous comments before you type because you’re contradicting yourself like a lunatic.
By the way, nobody cares who you supported or voted for. We didn’t need you then and we don’t need you know. You should probably go start a Palin site like the last guy did who was petitioning for her as VP. Maybe you can find somebody who cares what you think.
November 8th, 2008 at 12:38 pmwhat will you do when obama embraces all of us, and not just those who voted for him. what will you do?
I will wonder, Why the hell couldn’t Bush do that? Oh yeah, he is republican and therefore only looking out for 1 percent of the population.
Btw, Obama already has embraced everyone – it’s why you see the Obama love in all over the world!
November 8th, 2008 at 12:51 pmPalin on the Palin Women’s vulvas: ‘There have been some stinkers.’
November 8th, 2008 at 12:56 pmThinking(?) says: the difference between the left and the right is a slim line. they both HATE, both are ANGRY, both are UNREASONABLE.
I am, in fact, quite reasonable with those that can be reasoned with. I would not lecture me on history unless you are attaining a EdD or DPT, though intellectual discourse would be quite stimulating if I thought you could be up to a battle of wits or witty conversation.
Further, I do not Hate but I am Angry and have been ever since the election of 2000 was stolen by the Supreme Court. See, you would be angry as well if for the last eight years you had been trying to appeal to the reason of others that the fiscal and international fiasco that is the current administration was an abomination waiting to happen-not a Edgar Cayce prediction but foreseeable none the less. I personally remember the Reagan years, when eating hamburger patties and rice was doing good, jobs were scarce, and his policies, furthered by the Bush dynasty, were called “voodoo economics” and “fuzzy math” by Bush Sr.
I think it’s a clear assumption that they, the GOP, wanted this religiously zealous, egotistical bimbo to be their puppet and that McCain, supposedly a man of honor, ran THE DIRTIEST campaign in the history of American politics.
So yes, to dumb it down a notch, I am PO’ed, and a little snot nose twat like you can take it or leave it because it is intellectually beyond your comprehension to cope with.

Not to mention a moral code that goes beyond, “I got mine”. I swear that these idiots could chew off both hands and a foot, and still have their balls in the bear trap.
The post election whine fest has been fantastic! Very enlightening. It has become apparent that the vaunted “base” of the GOP is going to spend the next four years hunting down “moderates” in the party and feasting on their own.
Maybe Newt and Bible Spice could wrestle for the reigns of the party at Wrestlemania? And Ann Coulter could be the guest referee. Or a weapon? She would make a dandy spear.
And the poor “traitors” at FAUX are going to have to join the witness protection program. Which will be especially ironic because the only people who really wish to do them harm are the inbred yokels who inhabit the “garden spots” they would go to hide.
And while they witness the mayhem, it will never occur to them that their downfall was being too radical. Instead of stepping back and taking stock? They’ll just grunt and swing.

November 8th, 2008 at 11:33 pmTo “thinking”, and any other doubting-thomas:
A book titled “Change for America,” being published next week by the Center for American Progress, an influential liberal think tank, will recommend, for example, that Obama rapidly create a National Energy Council to coordinate all policymaking related to global climate change.
The center’s influence with Obama is substantial: It was created by former Clinton White House official John D. Podesta, a co-chairman of the transition effort, and much of its staff has been swept into planning for Obama’s first 100 days in office.
I’m pretty sure Obama has his liberal agenda being well cared for, thanks for the “concern”.

Here is an obvious symptom of what is wrong with people as stupid as you. I dont have any comrades in Russia. I am sorry that anyone anywhere suffers including Russia. They brought it on themselves not being careful enough with nuclear power plants but as usual the idiots that make such decisions are not the ones that pay for such stupidity. WE elected the galactically stupid, people like YOU, and let them run things and now WE are paying the price. YOU are whingng because Americans woke up and put the grownups back in charge. You are a moron. You arent going to become capable of actual higher brain function. That is flat too much for you to hope for. Sniping at us isnt going to change that and only outs you further for your stupidity. Time to come to grips with reality. We have rejected the moron agenda. YOU can TRY to convince us it was a mistake but the more you talk the happier we are that the stupidest people on the Planet, people like YOU, arent being paid attention to anymore
November 9th, 2008 at 2:18 pmI can’t tell if it is silly or zany…
November 9th, 2008 at 2:50 pmwell debs, if you pick a screen name of eugene debs you can hardly blame anyone for thinking you have comrades in russia, as for anyone suffering, well i feel bad for those who have to be around you at work or at home.that is really suffering. don’t forget, double up on the xanax. see ya.

Phuknard
random chaos, how clever!!! the problem with liberals is they have no sense of humor. i mean really, what’s funny about trotsky, lenin, stalin, or eugene debs? very angry people, who think they know what is best for eveyone. i purpose you leave us alone and marry each other, then you can have deep conversations about dark, unfunny things like what will you do if obama fails, or who will you turn to after you get mugged on the street, or what to do when putin comes for you. very unfunny things. well, i got news for you, you got your little ‘think progress’web site, where you enjoy beating up sarah palin or joe the plumber or george bush, but remember, on jan20th,2009 anything bad happens, its on you. and then, you will have to deal with me. and it will not be pleaseant.
November 9th, 2008 at 4:53 pmJust here to poke the stupid troll in it’s cage. Poke!
November 9th, 2008 at 7:02 pmI’m Flagging My Self for being off subject , ok now I’m ready, Palin could have easily said to her rnc servants, thanks but no thanks, I HAVE clothes and it wouldn’t look good, noooooo .

Just WTF do you mean by “…on jan20th,2009 anything bad happens”??? Is that some sort of threat against our President-Elect? I’d watch out for the FBI if I were you. They will not be “pleaseant”(sic) either!
November 9th, 2008 at 9:36 pmto jane e.schneider, no i wish obama well, hope he becomes a great president, as i have already stated in previous posts on this thread. my meaning was clear, once obama takes office he takes responsability for all things that happen, both good and bad, in america. we can’t go 4 years with blaming bush, he has a democratic senate and house so his power is almost limitless, let him deliver on his promises. and you really got to stop being paranoid.
November 10th, 2008 at 4:35 amand i deal with politicians by voting against them. i voted against my own republican congressman because of his stand on various issues. and while i didn’t vote for obama,i also did not vote for mccain. some on this thread have stated i wasted my vote, i didn’t. us libertarians gave the state of north carolina to obama by not voting for mccain.

People as ignorant as you are stuck in that black white Manichean ignorance. Actually people like me. It helps I am not an ignorance spewing fool like you are. Again you think you can read minds and know if I need any kind of medication. I am just enjoying slapping an ignorant piece of trash like YOU around.

So on the DAY HE TAKES OFFICE all the catastrophic idiocy of the Bush administration disappears. All the chickens that are heading home to roost after 8 years of the most ignorant president of the modern era AT LEAST become Obamas fault? Please tell me you are kidding and even YOU arent that stupid
November 11th, 2008 at 3:14 amhey debs, hiya old friend. he has to start solving the problems on day 1. bush was terrible,so there is much work to be done. obama has a clear mandate, lots of support and free reign for at least 100 days. i am hopeful that he can do no more damage, and in fact reverse some of the policies in that time. if the recession gets deeper, the wars get worse, and unemployment continues to climb, thats on obama. we can not go through 4 years of blaming bush, we don’t have that time. i hope obama is a man of action, and the action he takes will determine if he is a man of good judgement. i know you are a liberal, so you may find this useless, but i pray that he does well. i hope he hits all our expectations, but if he only hits some i will be happy and be the first one to campaign for him in 2012.get us out of iraq, start up the economy, unite us, i will be happy. if we are hit by terrorist attacks, the economy gets worse, and for 4 years he blames bush, well we will throw him out in 4 years. he has a choice, he can be FDR, or jimmy carter. i know which one i prefer, how about you?
November 11th, 2008 at 6:05 amand debs, two more things; eugene debs was a socialist, he was arrested, tried, and convicted of sedition during ww1, and was sent to prison. he was followed by norman thomas as the socialist leader. both had close ties to russian communists, in fact debs was nominated for a nobel prize by a communist from finland. thomas’grandson, evan thomas, is a opinion columnist for time or newsweek, i forget which. and second, i have never quite figured out socialists, who really believe that big government is the answer to our problems. let me explain why. a few years ago, the federal government seized a place called the ‘mustang ranch’ a legal bordello in nevada.[apparently prostitution is legal in some parts of nevada]the governmeny had to close it up because they were not making money. now, how do you go broke if you are selling booze and sex? only the government could do that.lastly, i would like to say any time you feel like you want to ’slap me around’ in person feel free to try.

Hey idiot you are WAY to stupid to try to teach me anything your condescending talk about explaining anything to me is laughable since you are a moron. I know EXACTLY who Eugene Debs was. Yes he was a socialist at a time when about 10% of Americans voted Socialist regularly. he got close to a million votes in 1920 He also was arrested tried and put in prison FOR GIVING AN ANTI WAR SPEECH and criticising the Espionage act used to jail anti war activists and pacifists. Today what he did, out of concience would be considered free speech. Let ME explain something to YOU. Your nick is a misnomer. You have never had a thought in your LIFE. Regurgitation of talking points and spewing BS when you have NO idea what you are talking about is NOT THINKING its being a fool. STOP BEING A FOOL
November 12th, 2008 at 4:11 amhey debs you idiot, eugene debs never even got 6% of the popular vote, as usual you padding the stats. in his 5 attempts at the presidency he never won even 1 electoral vote. he was jailed for SEDITION, not for some speech. you can call a pile of shit like him a rose, but he still smells like shit.
