I think one of the most revealing things President Bush has said about how he regards his job and the American people was in an interview with Matt Lauer, in the run-up to the 2004 election. Bush was campaigning in Ohio

Lauer asked if he thought the people of Ohio were better off than they were four years ago.

Bush smugly responded that 51% of them probably think so.

I don’t know if he was referencing some Ohio poll that had him at 51, or if he was just explaining all that mattered to him was that more than half of Ohioans were happy.

That is the aggressively mediocre outlook of a guy who is happy to just get a passing grade.

It is no wonder his presidency was such a mess. WTH were they thinking when they elected him.

So glad is this just about at the end…….truely a reign of terror

One of the things that I have noticed about Republicans, and very rich Republicans in particular, is their mastery at saying things that sound good but mean, at best, nothing, or upon further logical examination are actually bad ideas. They sound good on the surface but they’re actually deceiving and very stupid. And harmful. Normal people might call this type of person a “con-man”.

Let’s examine this statement, presented as a great philosophical approach practiced by our dear President. To wit:

“He has a way of coming to grips with things and moving on. The people have spoken.”

Translated into English, this means “I make quick decisions and forget about them. I don’t waste time thinking about too much about anything. For one thing, it ’s a lot of work. Two, my IQ is 67. Too much thinking hurts my brain. The more information I get, the more confused I get. Besides, I’ve got a four-some waiting on the front nine.”

But, the way they say it, they want it to sound like we’ve got a great President who makes “the hard calls and sticks to his principles.” It’s funny how the right description can make something bad sound good.

Sorry, Mr. President, but there are some people out here who actually paid attention when we went to school. bon Voyage!

When Bush was in his father’s administration he had the well-earned reputation for being the “enforcer.” Anyone got out of line, GW shoved them back in, or got out the hammer.

Bush is mean spirited and vindictive. (Why do you think we’re in Iraq?) He may not do anything overtly, but you better believe he’ll do whatever he can to sabotage Obama and the Dems behind the scenes. And he won’t leave any fingerprints.
