Project For A New American Century 2.0.
Matt Duss reports, “It looks like Bill Kristol may be making good on his threat to revive the Project for the New American Century. Since May, visitors to PNAC’s website were informed that ‘this account has been suspended,’ but now the website is back up, though it does not seem to have been updated with any new material.” Duss speculates that PNAC’s reincarnation may serve to boost the future prospects of Sarah Palin.

It is/was for the Federal Reserve, defense contractors (Blackwater), oil and gas industry and related subsidiaries (Haliburton), and any country/foreign interests(some with Merkuns on their boards) which has loaned the US money in the last 5 years.

I think the PNAC recognizes the value of having a puppet at the top, who can be controlled by their membership acting in other positions. I mean — it worked really well having Bush as POTUS, and having people like Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld actually running the show (it also opened the floodgates for PNAC members and signatories to get appointments in the Bush administration).
This is how the PNAC no doubt views a possible Palin administration. She would act as a (rather dim-witted) figurehead, while the PNAC would run the country. They probably regard Palin as manna from heaven.

Eh — the neocons aren’t all that concerned with failure. They’re banking on the short attention span of Americans. They figure that in four years, registered Republicans will have forgotten that the “PNAC government with electable figurehead” model really didn’t work, and will go for it again.
True conservatives would do well to kick this element out of their party and concentrate on returning the party to something respectable.
