Lieberman has signaled an intent to filibuster to derail Obama’s platform. He should not be granted a committee chairmanship from which he can derail the platform directly.

The heimat security committee which Lieberman chairs should be abolished as should the so called war on terror .It looks more dangerous to our open society than is useful .Here’s a bill which now sits in Joe’s committee which many people are calling the thought crime bill and which critics say would make blogging dangerous and allow the government to arrest people preemptively .

This is the only reason he is still there.

Mmmm. First of all, the Senate likes to consider itself the “deliberative” body, the one is never hasty. Oh, and gentlemanly (when one of them isn’t beating another one over the head with a cane — ah, the good old days). Secondly, this is still a lame duck session and the Democrats don’t seem to really understand what a powerful position they’re in; I think they need a little practice.

If I was a Democratic Senator, I’d demand he lose his chairmanship and that he owed a public apology to the Party and, more importantly, to President Elect Obama. Then I might let him join us in the lunchroom.
